    The Star Barn

    The Star Barn

Toured the grounds while enjoying the Christmas lights with the Star Barn being the pièce de résistance - looked absolutely breathtaking. Will need to find a reason to stop in for one of the functions at the barn. Incidentally, the display of lights is the best in the area in my opinion - recommended!

However arriving so early meant the staff were either uninformed of the days events or just not ready. Signage was confusing on where to park and we ultimately were forced to return to our car with three little kids in tow, move it to a grassy area in desperate need of a mow, than wait in the car due to the cold until the shuttle was set up and we were taken go the train. The Easter train and activities that day were nice, although I still felt the staff weren't knowledgeable, and when we approached customer service for a program of the days events after seeing other people with them, they were even confused on where to get them. Other than misinformation, we enjoyed that day. My grandson found a gold egg for which they comped us the $35 ticket to the 4th of July festivities. The 4th of July activities were promoted heavily on Facebook and listed alot of great activities for kids one would assume would be included in the ticket cost. They also had fireworks, which we did not plan on staying for. My grandkids were excited to go on the train ride and get their faces painted. Neither happened, because once there we were told the train ride was an additional $15 per person and that the face painters were a no show. We were directed to a lower barn, a good walk from where we were with 3 small kids and told that's where the kids activities were. I don't consider food trucks and a coloring page "kids activities " but wherever. Annoyed we made the long trek back up the hill to the star barn in 90 + degree weather before a nice employee saw us struggling with the double stroller and gave us a ride on her golf cart, for which we were very thankful. The activities up there weren't much either. A gaga ball pit and corn hole, and the same coloring page inside. Bull rides and pony rides were an additional fee. The petting zoo was free but lame. 2 donkeys, 2 ponies, and two lamas we had no access to. The entertainment was a juggler who thought he was funny but failed to entertain adults and children alike. Every where you turned there were nickel and dime fees. So what was the $35 fee for? I'm assuming to see fireworks you can see elsewhere for free. So glad our ticket was comped, as this event was lame, and the hour we wasted there, mostly walking in extreme heat we can never get back.

There are fireplaces in almost every room, unfortunately the one in our room was currently under construction but maybe next time. Our particular bedroom was called the Michelangelo Tower. The ceilings being painted and all. Make sure you're a morning person though, because with eight (8!) windows it got very bright in there by 6AM. Probably was the only downside because my boyfriend and myself are not particularly morning people. There's a coffee maker and water bottles available in the sitting room, at all hours of the day, which was nice. The morning we had check out they had breakfast served in each of the large dining rooms. Quiche with bacon and potatoes. Orange juice, water, hot tea and fresh coffee. All was wonderful. We will be back.

In-house catering was absolutely delicious, we had them do the rehearsal dinner, lunch for bridal party when they were getting ready, then dinner that evening. All the hors d'oeuvres were amazing! The owner, Gina, is a amazing host and helped us in everything we needed to get done. I would recommend Moonstone Manor for any event that you need a venue for!! I give it 5 stars!!!!!

We visit Lancaster…read moreevery year and decided to switch gears and stop here and honestly, it was one of those why didn't we do this sooner? moments. Set on rolling Pennsylvania countryside, the views are straight out of a postcard. It's peaceful, scenic, and exactly the kind of place where time slows down (in the best way). The wine list is well thought out, approachable yet refined, with something for every palate. Nothing felt mass-produced or rushed and each pour had intention behind it. The staff deserves real credit: knowledgeable, welcoming, and genuinely proud of what they're pouring. They guide you without the wine snob energy, which makes the experience feel relaxed and inviting, whether you're a casual sipper or a full-on wine enthusiast. This stop elevated our Lancaster trip and added a fresh layer to a tradition we already love. Grandview Vineyard isn't just a winery, it's an experience worth building into your itinerary. We'll be back. No question. For photos, wine highlights, and more travel-food stops worth the drive, check out @travelingtastebuds_

It doesn't necessarily look like that as you drive up. The only downfall is that there is only one restroom. The pricing seemed decent. I was super pleased that they had a small selection of mocktails. Their strawberry lemonade spritz wasn't too sweet or too tart! It was just right. My friends seemed to enjoy all the wine choices! Additionally, the crab pretzel was amazing!! The charcuterie boards looked worth it. Plenty of seating and a live band was set up around 6/630, but we left just as they were coming in. Highly recommend and would come back (even as a sober lady!).
