The cojones to send this after an attorney told them that it's fraudulent is breathtaking.
    Al M.

In terms of physical buildings, these are some of the nicest apartments in Rexburg. However, the management is the worst I've ever seen. The manager who was there I first moved in was, according to an employee who shared this with me, embezzling and sexually harassing the assistant manager. From there it improved to a manager who wasn't breaking laws and/or office ethics but who was unable to work the computer software to pull the direct deposits for two months in a row. This future rocket scientist decided that rather than put two and two together that something must have gone wrong with the direct deposit process since none of the direct deposits were there, she put eviction notices out to the people who used direct deposit, and then acted like these legal notices she drew up could just be ignored. So that got the second manager in less than a year fired. Onto manager number three, the current manager. I signed a six month lease extension in July of 2020 because it was too much trouble to move. I notified them in August of 2020 that I would be moving out when my lease expired on January 20th. I never signed any lease agreement which went past January 20th. Then I emailed them in December of 2020 to ask if I could move out on the first of 2021, and they agreed. My original accommodation in Duluth fell through, and so we agreed that I could move out on January 8th. So there was no lease agreement past January 20th, 2021 and a mutual agreement via email to terminate the lease agreement on January 8th. So instead of giving me back my $500 deposit or my tote of DVDs which I left by mistake, the manager told a bold face lie about what I was in my apartment when I moved out (which she doesn't realize that two people saw directly contradictory evidence), I was presented a bill for all of the January rent, the February rent (seriously, what the crap! I never signed a lease which covers February), and various other things that the management felt like they could charge me for. So I get my attorney involved and as soon as my attorney gets involved, the manager stops emailing with me. (Which speaks volumes about the legitimacy of the shakedown they are attempting.) and instead sends a letter to just me through the regular mail, which I just received. So needless to say, the Better Business Bureau will soon be notified, my attorney will get to try to stop their cowardly retreat long enough to stop this shakedown again, and manager number four will soon be coming to Stonebrook. If you move in here, see how much turnover of employees happen while you live here (3 managers, 4 assistant managers, 4 salespeople, 3 heads of maintenance, and 5 maintenance people in the 18 months I lived there. That should paint a vivid picture of the stability of the management.) and kiss your security deposit goodbye.

Rude manager and maintenance takes forever. Did not feel comfortable here or enjoy my time living here. Glad I don't live here any more.

We either had to move out or go back and forth between apartments to get water. Communication is awful and management claims they care about the residents, but they really don't. I've been unfairly booted due to a miscommunication on Nauvoo's part, removed from my apartment, locked out of my apartment despite paying to stay during a break and had no water many times over the 6 semesters I've lived here

While that is a large plus and has helped me put up with things in the past, I am completely fed up with this place now. I have had a few experiences from them intentionally letting a roommate I requested not to be with me follow me around, to locking me out of the apartment and refusing to give me the code until they opened the next day making me sleep in my car that night. (I was paying for it and they said they checked and sent everyone who needed the new code the code but that was a total lie and they didn't check until I was there in person the next morning very upset.) I am not someone who gets upset and rants about things especially to peoples faces. I have considered myself respectful to management and their efforts, but after today it felt like the last straw. Every apartment on the womens side in my ward just ran out of water because they refused to do maintenance on the boiler. They told everyone to move out to different units within the complex splitting up roommates and making everyone move with 2 weeks left of the semester!!!! They have also been super shady recently and now whenever you get a maintenance request fulfilled the rating you give (if its 5 stars) goes directly to their google reviews to boost them back up. This is something they started doing once they consistently got negative reviews online a few months ago. To sum it up again the people and culture here is amazing like advertised, but not worth them raising rent $500 over the last year and doing nothing in their own efforts. And all that money is probably going to that nice new car in the manager parking lot btw.

Case in point: they charged us a ridiculous amount for a "deep cleaning" over semester break. Then we came back to the exact same apartment, and the carpets and couch still looked dirty. So what exactly did we pay for? Then there are the study rooms, an amenity that residents literally pay for. Somehow, management's kids are in there like it's daycare. Last time I checked, I was paying for a place to study, not to compete with someone's playtime. And don't even get me started on the clean checks. They seem to love failing people over the smallest things. Then when you send them a picture proving you actually cleaned it, suddenly it's, "Oh yeah, it is clean." So... did anyone even look before failing it? It sure doesn't seem like it. Living here has felt like one fee after another, with management always ready to charge residents but not always delivering on what those charges are supposed to cover. If you're thinking about signing a lease here, document everything with pictures, because you might end up needing the proof.

They don't care to understand a situation, like for example when I told them in January that I needed to cancel my spring lease (starts in April) they charged me a $100 fee to cancel. I even explained I was leaving on a mission for the church, but they didn't seem to care. They make clean checks unrealistically difficult to pass. The apartments are old, our room even flooded 3 times in a single month, and every time they'd say they couldn't do much about it. It's a money pit, the proximity to the campus isn't worth it. I've spent more on fees and clean checks than on a parking pass (which is already ridiculously expensive). Save your money and your sanity and live somewhere else.

UV Review I have to…read morepreface this review with two important facts: 1. Any positive reviews after October 2024 were likely incentivized. UV ran a promotion where tenants who left good reviews could spin a wheel to win prizes like cookies, discounted rent, or free parking. 2. This complex was originally called "The Ivy" but had to rebrand to "UV" due to overwhelmingly poor reviews--yet nothing has changed about the issues that earned them that reputation. I've lived here for two years, and after the initial excitement wore off, I've regretted it every day. If you tour the complex, they'll show you Building 2, with fresh paint, new carpet, and updated appliances. Ask to see Buildings 1 and 3 instead--you'll find ripped-up carpet, poorly maintained gyms, and unsealed walls (a result of one of the fires that happened while I lived here). In my time here, there have been two fires and three floods, all due to lack of maintenance--not tenant negligence. After the second fire in November 2024, which was dangerously close to my unit, management's response made their priorities clear: they only visited us to remind us that they weren't responsible for any damage to our belongings--this despite the insurance fees we pay at the beginning of each semester. No concern for our safety. Just money. Security and management are equally negligent. One of my roommates dry-fired a gun at us as we walked past his room. Another regularly smoked tobacco and marijuana inside our apartment. Even after multiple complaints, management did nothing until we escalated the issue to the University Housing Office. Parking is a nightmare. There aren't enough spaces for all the residents, so finding a spot is always a competition. Even if you have a parking pass, you're still at risk of getting booted by RC Booting, a predatory company that UV allows to operate here. I've personally been booted despite having a valid parking permit, and I'm not alone--this company is notorious for its shady practices. Do your research on RC Booting before signing a lease here. If you're considering UV because of the shuttle service, don't. More often than not, we received texts saying a shuttle was broken, forcing us to walk to class anyway. There are cheaper, better-maintained, and more convenient apartments all around campus. Don't make the mistake I did--do your research before signing a lease here.

We had a serious mold issue, and maintenance neglected to take care of it. My roommates were sick because of it, on and off for two semesters while it went on. Found mushrooms growing in the carpet. Long story short, we were treated horribly on the situation and the owners/managers were EXTREMELY unprofessional on solving the matter. If crap hits the fan here, have fun. I got screwed over so hard, and they denied all requests for reasonable reimbursement. Moved apartments 4 times throughout the semester. Live at Brookside Village instead. I wouldn't wish it on anyone. Very poor treatment! Got to a point where legal matters had to get involved. I got relocated to another apartment at Shelbourne, and that one had mold all over the bathroom as well. Live somewhere else. TERRIBLE! And we were nothing but reasonable and nice to the managers and owners. Save yourself the trouble. And by the way........... Electrical problems and major flooding occurred between the two laundry rooms. The amenities was completely shut down for most of the semester. Such a waste of money.

The rooms are a lot smaller than I originally thought I barely have any room for my stuff and the only way I can get any sort of airflow is by blasting two mini fans I bought and opening the windows, but I'm so screwed because it's already halfway through the spring semester and it's so dang hot at night already. The rooms are either 4 people or 6 people if I recall and I have the 4 room housing and there is only one fridge and lemme just say it's a blast trying to fit everything into this tiny fridge, and make sure you buy a lot of bottled water unless you love tap water as well. The absolute worst part is having no A.C. It's so hot and I hate it. The house do have heaters though, but that's obviously useless during spring summer and fall pretty much. They are Manual use though so you constantly have to monitor them. The stoves are gas lit with heating coils also and it's fun because even the smallest crumb and boom it's smoking everywhere so make sure those are constantly clean as well too. They aren't strict on cleaning checks which is actually nice though. I'm tired of housing treating people like children with these cleaning checks so that's pretty nice.
