If you are a BYU-I student my recommendation is DO NOT LIVE HERE! My wife and I had an existing contract and when we tried to extend it we were informed that they now charge $100 a month extra if your lease ends in April, December, or August. Again, each MONTH you will be charged ONE HUNDRED extra dollars just because they "don't want so much turnover. The rent here is already more than it's worth in the first place but with this change it is 100% NOT WORTH IT if you're a student! read more

My family lived here for 2 years and I would beg you to find someplace else. To start, when we applied for the apartment, my sister-in-law was going to live with us and she was a minor. The management told us we had to be the legal guardians of her or else she couldn't stay with us. They asked for no such proof for my own 3 kids. I've never heard of such an unreasonable demand and they threatened to deny the application. I convinced them to accepted a notarized permission slip from her parents instead but plans changed and she didn't end up moving in with us after all. It was still a month-long trial of anxiety. A year later, there was an incident with my dogs being off leash. My two dogs approached and sniffed another dog who was being walked. Nothing happened but the owner (who was the wife of the maintenance man) said her dog was not friendly. She reported me and I was fined $100. That was my fault and I've kept my dogs on lease ever since. But in the fine notice I was also accused of breaking my lease by having people stay with me who are not listed on my lease. We did happen to have my brother over at that time to help us out while my son was getting surgery. He stayed less than 5 days which is what the lease says is allowed. The fact that they knew my brother was staying with us made my wife and I feel like the staff were spying on us and a dark cloud hung over my family for many months after that. Finally, my current situation. Our dishwasher doesn't drain water properly and for us to use it we have to manually drain a large pool of water out of the bottom with a bowl and a bucket between each load. It's been a month since I reported it and maintenance tickets I submit keep getting closed without any fix. There have been other issues with the staff over our two years but those I've listed above are the worst. We've suffered and stayed silent for fear of retaliation but we are finally done with school and can move. Thank God! I can't recommend this place to anyone in good conscience. read more

Everything is changing since the old apartment manager left.... and its only for the better! The new clubhouse stuff (especially in the theater room) looks amazing, the hot tub is finally getting fixed, and the new apartment manager is a polar opposite of the last manager, which is a good thing (trust me). I know more than a handful of people, including close friends who liked the location, amenities, and size of the apartments, but were thrown off by Karen's terrible attitude. With her gone, I'm not sure I'll ever move until graduating. The price is less than some of the super posh places where all the summer sales bros live, but we actually have more square feet of space here, and I love the in-unit washer and dryer. read more

My friend & her husband were kicked out of their StoneBrook apartment before their lease was up because management made a mistake and gave their apartment to new tenants. Management refused to communicate or work with my friend. They had to hurry & pack up everything within two days. read more

In terms of physical buildings, these are some of the nicest apartments in Rexburg. However, the management is the worst I've ever seen. The manager who was there I first moved in was, according to an employee who shared this with me, embezzling and sexually harassing the assistant manager. From there it improved to a manager who wasn't breaking laws and/or office ethics but who was unable to work the computer software to pull the direct deposits for two months in a row. This future rocket scientist decided that rather than put two and two together that something must have gone wrong with the direct deposit process since none of the direct deposits were there, she put eviction notices out to the people who used direct deposit, and then acted like these legal notices she drew up could just be ignored. So that got the second manager in less than a year fired. Onto manager number three, the current manager. I signed a six month lease extension in July of 2020 because it was too much trouble to move. I notified them in August of 2020 that I would be moving out when my lease expired on January 20th. I never signed any lease agreement which went past January 20th. Then I emailed them in December of 2020 to ask if I could move out on the first of 2021, and they agreed. My original accommodation in Duluth fell through, and so we agreed that I could move out on January 8th. So there was no lease agreement past January 20th, 2021 and a mutual agreement via email to terminate the lease agreement on January 8th. So instead of giving me back my $500 deposit or my tote of DVDs which I left by mistake, the manager told a bold face lie about what I was in my apartment when I moved out (which she doesn't realize that two people saw directly contradictory evidence), I was presented a bill for all of the January rent, the February rent (seriously, what the crap! I never signed a lease which covers February), and various other things that the management felt like they could charge me for. So I get my attorney involved and as soon as my attorney gets involved, the manager stops emailing with me. (Which speaks volumes about the legitimacy of the shakedown they are attempting.) and instead sends a letter to just me through the regular mail, which I just received. So needless to say, the Better Business Bureau will soon be notified, my attorney will get to try to stop their cowardly retreat long enough to stop this shakedown again, and manager number four will soon be coming to Stonebrook. If you move in here, see how much turnover of employees happen while you live here (3 managers, 4 assistant managers, 4 salespeople, 3 heads of maintenance, and 5 maintenance people in the 18 months I lived there. That should paint a vivid picture of the stability of the management.) and kiss your security deposit goodbye. read more

Stone Brook Apartments - The cojones to send this after an attorney told them that it's fraudulent is breathtaking. - Apartments Near Me - Rexburg, Idaho

This was my first apartment as a married couple and we were very excited to move in. One thing that was important to my wife was to be able to hang up things in the apartment. At move in she asked Celeste if we could hang things and she said ¨Yes go for it! As long as it is not bigger than a dime, you will be good.¨ So we decorated our apartment and made it feel like a home (our mistake). Fast foward to move out we recieve our charges back and we were charged $305 for nail holes. That is the ENTIRE deposit for having nails holes that we were told we could have. None of the holes were bigger than a dime and when I called about this, then I was suddenly told that we could only hang thumbtacks and if we had tried to fill the nail holes ourselves we would have been charged even more for that. So DO NOT hang anything on the walls and heaven forbid you would like to hang a shelf in your apartment because you will be charged for the entire wall that is hung on. Another frustrating experience was the appliances. I understand that Stonebrook is an older complex and it is normal for things to break however, the entire lease length our dryer was broken. The first week of move in we had to submit a work order because the dryer would not dry. From there we probably submitted around 20 work orders for the broken dryer it wasn´t till half way through our lease they decided to give us a ¨new¨ dryer (it was an old dryer pulled from a different apartment). I was honestly to excited to have something that would work and then we ran it for the first time and it was worse than the other one. We were a bit embrassed to put in a work order right after they switched it and we tried to put up with it for a few weeks. The dryer had to be ran around 4-5 times to dry one load of laundry. I would have to set timers throughout the night to wake and start the dryer so the clothes wouldn't smell of mildew. After getting sick of this I finally called to try to have it fixed and the office told me that "I must be putting too many clothes in or that my lint trap was full." Even at one point I tried drying a single shirt and had to run it multiple times but the office probably just assumed I was stupid and don't know how to work a dryer. By this point we knew we were going to move and gave up. The main reason that we had decided to move into Stonebrook was because it came with washer and dryer so this was so frustration. Good luck to the next person that has that horrid dryer and hope you like having wet clothes constantly. We decided to buy out of our lease because we had found somewhere better and thought that everything was set with the office and we had a move out date set for the 7th. I figured for March we would have a pro-rated amount of rent because we were only going to be staying there 7 days. Instead Stonnebrook told us that we had to pay a full month's rent and then we would recieve our refund. When it came time to pay rent they didn't add the pet rent. I called so they could add it and pay it and I checked to see if they posted it and they never did. On the online portal you are not able to make a payment unless it charged to your account. I figured they would just take it from the deposit. I got the charges back and I was expecting around $800 back as we were supposed to get our prorated rent back and the deposit. However, we had only recieved around $100 because of all the unnecessary charges tacked on. Not only were we charged $300 for having nail holes we were also charged a late fee because no one had added the pet rent to our account and we could not pay it. Overall, it was extremely frustrating and I would not move back.They give you zero instructions for move out and you can do your best cleaning and have it cleaner than when you moved in however you will still be charged for cleaning, carpet cleaning, drip pans, nail holes etc. read more

My husband and I lived at Stonebrook for a year and had no problems cancelling our contract when we found a home to officially move into! It was worth the cost of the apartments- which is far cheaper than the other places around for the same amount of space- and though it has a little wear and tear it felt like home. Maintenance came in a timely manner to fix things and management was fairly friendly and easy to talk with! We understood that things get really hectic in the housing department around here (they're practically booked till October with housing) so if you just talk to the manager and owner civilly they're actually quite personable and willing to work things out if you have an issue with anything! If anything I just think they're understaffed because that lady needs some help with everything going on and with so many apartments maybe a few more maintenance guys too, bless them! I'd actually like to give a 4.5 instead of just a 4 because they allow pets too for a low pet fee of $30 a month (though my husband always joked that kids were more destructive than our cat haha). But that was nice to be able to have our fur baby with us! The only reason that it's not quite a 5 star for us is the amenities just needed some upkeep, which were projects that of course had to be put to the side as everyone in the apartment complex probably dogged them with their myriad of other maintenance problems or moving in and out. The hot tub took a lot of priority when it came to maintaining the amenities but it would have been nice to see that new treadmill that had a working incline, or maybe replace the wood chips at the playground with something like Astro turf that wouldn't blow everywhere and into everything when Rexburg's winds took off (we lived next to the park). And while they have those little doggy bags available so that people pick up their dog's poop, you can't always rely on everyone to do just that (though you're supposedly going to be fined if you are caught not doing so). So there are always a few piles here and there. But that's not on them, that's on the tenants I suppose! All in all we liked calling Stonebrook home! So thank you guys for that chapter of our lives! read more

My husband and I lived here for two semesters before having to leave for a summer job. We absolutely loved it here the apartments are very nice and spacey and kept up. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 star is because of the land lady Karen Cartmill. Anytime working with her has been a huge drag. You never want to be around her because she always has an angry smirk on her face and she is very rude and will always give you a hard time. Other than her this place is super nice! read more

My husband and I lived at Stonebrook for a semester and loved it. We stayed in the Teton layout because we like the washer and dryer better in the bathroom. We loved the high ceilings, the big bathroom and the counter tops. Our carpet seemed to have been newly replaced so that was nice as well. Covered parking for all of the residents. (One spot per apartment) It is pet friendly here, you'll see lots of people walking their dog. They have good internet, we didn't have many problems wit it. They have cable tv. The management here is really nice. They do something fun/special for the residents every month. One month there was a BBQ, another month they did resident appreciation and had a little breakfast ready for us in the morning to pick up. A negative was that there was hardly any closet space so we had trouble with storage. The gym wasn't the best. They said they were going to update it but I'm not sure when. Another is that their prices are always changing and it's hard to know what it'll be after your lease is up. But other than that we really enjoyed our time there. read more

If you want prices to fluctuate higher by almost $100, and have managements own employees and Maintenance complain and quit about how awful it is here, and have constant issues with noisy neighbors and dog crap everywhere, Stone Brook Apartment Homes IS FOR YOU!!!! Unfortunately we signed for year lease so we are stuck, in addition to their secret clauses of no lease take overs(which is fine I don't want anyone else to have to live here) Do not move here, they suck you in with all of the free amenities, which are honestly not that great. The washer and dryers in unit are old , and the dryer needs at least three cycles to dry a medium load resulting in a higher electric bill!!! I know housing here is getting crazy, but you don't need to settle in a place that will cause you more stress and anxiety in your busy life!! It is not worth it! read more

We live in a one room apartment and have loved it for the last year. The management on site is absolutely amazing! The amenities are nice and we love the people we live with. BUT, the owners are taking advantage of us! We just found out that the owners have increased our rent by $70 a month. They didn't give us any warning or even let us know that our rent would be increasing. It's put us in a position where now we have to work extra hours in order to survive because we don't have enough time to find another place to move to. So we are forced to pay an exceptionally higher rate and barely scrape by. Who's to say they won't do this again?! If you're a young married couple with a tight budget, stay away from Stone Brook! The owners will just try to take you for all you have. read more

First, I have to say that the residents and the ward here are excellent. However, I recommend finding someplace else. It's been a headache management-wise. We tried to sell our contract, but the $415 total in JUST FEES for applying and switching tenants scared most people away. Also irritating was the fact that we've lived here over a year, and almost the entire time, something has been under construction--the playground, the parking lot (they still didn't fix the bump in the entrance, though), the roofing (twice), plus changes in fire alarms, windows, the website, and more. The gardeners are loud and start in the morning, and they don't stop till late afternoon sometimes (which is hell on earth when you have a baby). I get that construction and gardening is necessary, but come on people. Give your residents a break. Most of us are young married couples with either studying to do or babies (or both). The management (which has incurred a lot of wrath from what I've seen in reviews and has still not changed their behavior) has been absent or cold unless I'm physically in the office or on the phone (then they're nice). If you pay even a tiny bit late (which I admit was our fault), they slap a letter on your door and charge you outrageous fees. No phone call, no email, no warning. When we first moved in, Stonebrook withdrew from the wrong account after I switched it online, which had insufficient funds. I was slammed with fees and my account was in the red, but the manager said they couldn't (or wouldn't) do anything about it, even though it was their fault. They took no responsibility. Our oven needed a repair and the guy was really nice, but he left a bunch of screws and the metal back of our oven just laying there on our kitchen floor. We had trouble installing the cable box they gave us; I think there were parts missing. No one in the office would help us, and the people from DirecTV said to ask the office for help. We never got it set up and didn't care because it's not that great of an amenity anyway. (Not for what they charge.) They forced everyone to pay by check for several months and then took forever to cash our check; unfortunately our account was frozen in the middle of the month without our knowledge, so on the NINETEENTH they taped a letter to our door saying we owed an extra 25 dollars for a returned check. They told us we had to go to the bank and get a letter to get the fee waived. We did, and they STILL said we had to pay the fee. Then they gave us a DAY'S notice to pay online instead of by check, and the website wasn't even working. Then they said the flyer they gave us was wrong, and we're supposed to use a check. Ridiculous. Again, the residents here are fantastic; it's the complex itself that has issues. They charge a ton just to apply, increase your rent by a ton if you renew your contract, and make you pay $200 to transfer your contract--and then say you can't have your original deposit back. These people have no shame. They gouge you for every possible cent they can get. If you want any peace in your life, live somewhere else. Rexburg is building new places all the time. read more

Stonebrook was great prior to October 2017. Management was great and prices were fair for what you were getting and you could pay rent online with the push of a button and it came out within the week. Now there is new ownership and they are horrible. They're raising rent for everyone (our rent would have gone up $120 but we are leaving instead of renewing a contract) and they got rid of the complex's website so everything that is done you have to go to the office during their open hours and pay rent with a check that they never cash out until it somehow conveniently lines up with every other bill and car payment etc. you have and this just doesn't work for most people that live here and get paid a small amount every two weeks. These new owners are greedy and trying to get their tenants (that they are losing at a rapid rate) to pay the same amount for these apartments that other, way nicer, apartments charge for theirs. They will soon see the error in their ways when they're barely filling apartments or signing new contracts because everyone is choosing to stay in cheaper housing or nicer apartments that are popping up everywhere around here. read more

apartments are nice, but management is absolutely awful. they have lied to tenants multiple times and seem to find fines and fees for everything you do. they are not willing to work with you at all if you ever have issues. talking to the office about one question will give you three different answers. maintinence takes a long time as well. the cable is nice though, so you have to give them that much at least. I would reccomend to live somewhere else in rexburg, like behind Wal-Mart in a box. read more

I highly recommend finding a better place to live. Stone Brook was nothing but chaos when my husband and I decided to live there. The parking spots are so tiny, and we have accumulated countless door dings because of it. The hard water in the sprinklers will ruin your car. We could hear everything in the apartment above us, the entire year we lived there. We got a nail in our tire from the roof work that was done, and I was almost injured because the people that were working on the roof were throwing huge pieces of roofing and nails, down to the ground, not caring that people were walking underneath them. I had made a sign for my door, that was ruined when the doors got pressure washed, and Stone Brook didn't bother to send out an email letting everyone know to remove things from their door, until AFTER it had happened.The people in the main office are always new and don't know how to help with anything. We had an ant problem and were told not to take care of it ourselves, but it took them a good 6 months to send someone out. The ant problem still continued. Our carpet flooded because of poor draining, after the snow began to melt. On top of everything, we are now not receiving our deposit back, after we were promised that we would, because the computer system dissolved the deposit into a credit for rent. We were not told that this would happen or asked if this was okay, and it was not until after being moved out for over a month, we were given this information. I am LIVID with the poor management and faulty system that Stone Brook has. It was a huge ordeal to get out of our contract that was ending, and now we are not receiving a deposit we were promised to receive. DO NOT LIVE HERE! I have heard and experienced nothing but problems. read more
