Been living here since Fall 2018, going through a couple management changes the overall experience has been excellent. While important to read the fine print of your contract it goes a long way into being informed of what you can and cannot do as a tenant. Living Space - Switching from a 4x4 Townhouse to a 3x3 Flat served to be much better financially and after a couple semesters decided to purchase year-long contracts to save a little for myself and before the new policies regarding private rooms was able to cruise through my studies with no problem as you're bound to not desire a roommate in general unless you befriended one you sync with. Note: I recommend grabbing the room closest to the door if you're in a 3x3 Flat as it's relatively more spacious than the other rooms. Pros - As one of the complexes close to the STC and AUS buildings I couldn't recommend to anyone outside of Tech/Math/Engineering Related Degrees especially if you do not have a car making this convenient for walking distance (5-10 min. depending on your walking speed.) - Semester Events such as scavenger hunts and complimentary meals is a definite staple to keep living there alongside giveaways and prize drawings (I've won a couple parking passes during my time here so that's been a great boon to my experience.) - Staff friendliness is present and I strongly recommend to look past the RBFs because they're usually busy sorting through paperwork and packages though give a curt smile and friendly gesture and they'll be accommodating to your needs. - Great Scotts setup their drink shop in the office so it's very convenient for students in the local area to grab a fine drink and few amenities and supplies if you're lacking transportation to enjoy the luxury. Keep in mind the prices there are marked up slightly in comparison to their main store in the area. #convenience - Maintenance usually takes care of all issues in the apartment whether old or new which never does cut into your security deposit at all (Unless you're breaking down walls and what not...) so you'll find yourself pleased to get that cash back when you leave (like me.) Cons - If you're looking for the rumored "parties" that used to go down back when it was Mountain Lofts I'll have to sorely disappoint you as such activities weren't present (at least to my knowledge) while I was there though don't be surprised if you hear about some students getting caught with drug usage each Fall Semester (Ironic, I know.) - This isn't a Pet Preferred place and while ESA Animals are permitted those looking to sign up for that would have to endure a lengthy wait of around 30-60 days to my knowledge and if you're trying to still have a pet during the waiting process you will be evicted if found sheltering an animal without their knowledge. (Roommate's Girlfriend got caught this past semester so it wasn't pretty.) - Failure to read over your contract may result in strained experiences here so I encourage you to read over what's permitted to spare you of any penalties that you may face. - Washers and Dryers may be old and moldy and will not be replaced unless the machines themselves are broken beyond repair though I recommend following DIY stuff to freshen them up but up to you to make time for that or hope that maintenance can do that for you. - Memory Foam Mattresses have not been changed since my time there so you'll be hard pressed for comfort and perhaps sanitation to which I recommend bringing along your own mattress or attachment to separate you from the blemishes/stains until the owners (not the managers there) decide to invest in that. Overall, I enjoyed my time here and while there were shortcomings that had occurred with friends and family they don't stop me from enjoying my experience as well as making the friends made during my time there. read more

Pretty nice apartments but pretty much the worst parking pass reservation system I've ever seen. Where they send the pass reservation email is super inconsistent, all the parking is sold out within 1 MINUTE of the email being sent out and the form they send out doesn't even work the first try anyway. Even if you're ready to click the link immediately when it sends out you'll still be screwed because the form doesn't work. DO NOT LIVE HERE IF YOU WANT TO PARK HERE. P.S. the prices for parking are wildly overpriced, $100 for outdoor, $175 for indoor I mean come on people. read more

The apartments are modern and room set up is nice. I like that each room has their own bathroom. Something is always broken with these apartments and you always need to make a maintenance request. It's somewhere to live if you're desperate. I wouldn't come back here if loving wasn't such a hassle for me because of lack of transportation and deposit money. Honestly I've lived here a couple semesters, I have always stood up for The Lodge and have referred students to live here. After this semester, I will never be living here ever again or referring anybody to live here. Some of the managers are great and some are absolutely the worst. They are terrible with ESA animals, they do not care about you and your animal. Management is money hungry and will put that before all else. Although the apartment looks nice, it is cheaply put together and the washer will destroy your clothes. I thought I loved it here, but after how crappy management treated my ESA and I (a paying resident) I will never be coming back. There is so many other complex's that are truly amazing, like the Abri and the gates even. I would pick literally ANY other complex before this one, don't waste your time or money here. read more

If I could give this place zero stars I would. I will never recommend this place to a single person ever. I entered into a lease going into the fall semester and then I ended up getting married over the summer and I looked to transfer my contract and sold it for the amount of money that I was going to be paying if I lived there in the fall. They came back and charged hundreds of more dollars because they raised their prices and it was a different person purchasing it. I had to pay the difference. Their customer service was horrific, telling me that it was a reality check and that I need to figure things out. The people here were rude, condescending, and liars. It is one of the most unprofessional companies that I have ever been involved with. Do not live here and attempt to work with this management! read more

This 'gon be long but worth the read. Trust me. I made a year contract here before reading reviews. Stupidest move ever!! Do not fall for the lie that you get summer free if you sign a year contract, cause you don't! It's a sales scam. My mother passed and I had to leave. So I was in Jamaica and still paying for my empty summer apartment. I also have to pay 13 months of rent for a year contract. A year has 12 months, so what the heck!! Why I made another semester contract after a year of torture I don't know! Maybe because they changed the washer after trying to repair it 50 times. That washer sounded like a recking ball was coming thru the apartment and they didn't want to change it. I told them that the couches have wires sticking out that cut my roommates leg and shortly after, my leg: They are still here. I came here in a Spring semester and it's windy: their vents have these things that flaps open and close and makes the loudest noises. It sound like someone was consistently banging two pot covers together. I reported it and ask them if they could do something about it from my first semester and nothing was done even a year later. I am writing this because I did not sleep another whole night with these unbearable noise. I had earplugs in and I was still hearing them!! Who the hell does that with college students who needs to sleep to perform well?!?!?!?! They will bore a bigger hole in your pocket!! Everything is about money. I paid with a credit card one month and got charged $26 for it. They want $40 to clean for you at the end of the semester and yet the way they clean it they wouldn't have passed their own white glove check by far. I remember checking into a dirty apartment with no clean rooms, bathroom, kitchen or anything, because everyone before paid to have it cleaned. I was disgusted to use anything. I took pictures but deleted them. I phoned them that I'm new here and already paid two months rent and the apartment is not clean. They said someone will come the Monday. I checked in on a Saturday, and no one came until the Thursday. Everyday before leaving for work I had to repack everything and take everything off the floor and put it back on my bed because they threaten to throw everything out that's not packed up. With all the coronavirus commotion you can't cancel your contract even though some apartments allow you to. And they sent an email saying that they will charge $100 fee to transfer the contract to fall, nine negotiable. According to them it's reasonable because other apartments are charging more: bull! I wish I could say I'm happy to live here. But the bad things outnumber the good. The good for me is soft beds, bathroom in each room, washer and dryer in apartment, spacious living room. But you can find those things at a more reasonable, less noisy, and less money hungry apartment. I made a huge mistake coming here and staying. So don't do the same. My roommate sold her lease and paid the transfer fees, and then the girl she sold it to ended up buying from another buyer here at the lodge. Management did not care to let her know until the week before semester ended. Along with, allowing that to happen. Their maintenance also is not good and walking in on my other roommate in her bra after she told him 3 times to not come in yet, where he said, "its okay I am just walking into the bathroom." Awful. Stay away from this place. 1) The den of THEIFS. The management hired a cleaning crew to do deep cleaning for our apartment. The policy is that they throw everything away, if it's not packed and labelled. My stuff was properly packed and tucked away in one of the cabinets in bathroom. They didn't touch anything, except for my Blue de Chanel cologne, that was $120. It was gone after the crew left. The cleaning crew stole it. They management wasn't trying to help either. 2) The management is spying on its residents and often shows up at 5 am in the morning at your apartment, checking if there were any females past curfew. One of my roommates got reported to the honour code office and almost got kicked out because of the managers. 3) We don't have hot water in our apartment, it's tepid at best. When we asked the management to fix it 2 semesters ago, their solution was to "leave the water running for 30 Minutes, cause they can't fix it" 4) the heater/ac in the living room is making a terrible noise, you can't watch a movie or anything. 5) the corridors reek of rotten food remains, cause the maintenance never throws trash out. read more

There are so many problems with the apartments here, and the management does an inadequate job of taking care of the apartments. I have lived here for only one week and I have had a very unpleasant experience thus far. Let me share with you why. I moved into my apartment as the cleaning crew was finishing up and there was food and dirt all over the floor, the apartment smelled horrendous, the stove was covered in food, the microwave was covered in butter, and the carpets and bathroom were clearly untouched. I thought the cleaning crew was just starting, not finishing! On top of the poor job of the cleaning crew, my shower takes over an hour to get warm and the washing machine was insanely loud until a couple of days ago when it broke and flooded. This place has a dirtier/more run down feeling than any other complex I have ever lived, including Aspen Village. I would not recommend living here unless you are desperate. The Lodge is a GREAT place to live! I've lived here for a couple semesters and have absolutely loved living here. They hired all new management, ownership, and changed the name to The Lodge. They are no longer the Mountain Lofts. The management is great with handling situations, connecting with the residents, and for sure making the college experience worth while. Living here is like a home away from home. They offer MANY discounts and great amenities. There's all new appliances and furniture in each apartment (including a washer AND dryer). A FEW of the 25 amenities are the following: indoor parking garage, a bathroom for each bedroom, multiple floor plans to fit people's needs, 2 indoor gyms, etc. They are always offering free give aways, events, discounts, food, drinks, etc! The Lodge even has vending machines!! The Lodge is definitely worth every penny spent. You get what you pay for. And this place is what I would say is money well spent. read more

It pains me that the lowest rating is one star. They don't even deserve that. I had an emergency situation where a cat got left at my apartment for LITERALLY ONE HOUR and management got wiff of it (because they're down your throat about everything) and jumped on the opportunity to give me a $250 dollar fee! I called them to explain myself and instead of working with me they said I have 90 days to pay it or they'll take me to court. So unreasonable. This management doesn't treat you like a person and work with you, they see you as a piggy bank and look for any opportunity to break you open. I am such an advocate against this place. MUST READ REVIEW!!!!!! The lodge is one of the worst apartment complexes in rexburg and here is why. My Fiancé has lived at the lodge for almost 2 years now. It was fine when she started there but now it is one of the worst places she has ever lived. Over here last few years the Lodge has raised all of their prices significantly while not doing anything to earn the need to raise the price. They take months to respond to maintenance request. She has put in requests at the start of a semester and they won't show up for it until the last week of the semester. Their courtyard is disgusting, the students with dogs just let the poop everywhere without cleaning up and the lodge does nothing about it, making the courtyard unusable to anyone else living there. Over breaks they have raised their prices a ton and treat residents like they don't exist. Over the winter break they made her pay 200 dollars to stay and then act like she wasn't living there. They said she needed to be there for the cleaning crew and they would not give her a time when they would show up making it impossible for her to do anything all break. When they finally did come they hardly cleaned anything and then said if it was dirty at the start of the next semester they would charge her for it, making her have to reckless everything herself. They have raised parking by about 100 dollars and are still planning to raise it again. Their parking garage sucks because especially during the winter they had a pipe burst and cause ice to cover the entire bottom floor, they did nothing to clean it up, making the parking garage almost unusable down there because it was hazardous. It was not cleaned up until it melted away on its own while it warmed up. The last straw was last night. I dropped her off right at curfew and parked in the visitor parking. I took her inside because she has a knee unjustly and I wanted to make sure she made it fine. I was inside all of 5 minutes and came out and my car was booted. They were right there next to my car and when I explained the situation they still charged me 75 dollars to take it off, 75 dollars to make sure my fiancé doesn't reinsure her knee and get into her apartment at curfew. They are just money grubbing and trying to rob students in any way possible. read more

OVERPRICED! If it were possible to give 0 stars I would be the first. The only people that give mountain lofts more then 2 stars are those who work in management, are dating someone in management, or are related to management in some way. This place is AWFUL. DO NOT LIVE HERE. I wish I would have paid closer attention to the reviews before I moved here. It looks super nice at first but do not let them DECEIVE YOU. They are so desperate for people that they will offer you deals to make you think that it is worth it but then they hide the other costs in parking, security, month to month fees, and many other charges that you don't expect at first glance. They RAISE THIER PRICES every semester and don't have any kind of resident loyalty. They will even charge their loyal residents more money. MANAGEMENT IS A JOKE. I think they are running around with their heads chopped off. They must hire whoever they can find to run this place because it is going straight into the ground. They are disrespectful and very unorganized. They don't take responsibility for their mistakes and they just keep on making more. Whenever there is a problem (which there are many) management always says they will get right to it but it never gets fixed.There is some pretty bad management out there but Mountain lofts may just win first place in being the worst. THINGS BREAK ALL THE TIME. For being a new place they sure do have a lot of problems. Dishwasher has broken 3 times in the last two semesters. The dishwasher is connected to the disposal and clogs. The waste runs into the dishwasher and molds. The rest of the water leaks out of the side of the dishwasher onto the floor. Our stove has had problems and our wooden floor looks like a violent cat was trying to dig through it. PARKING IS A NIGHTMARE. Not only do the charge you $75 extra but you also can barely ever find a spot. You will pay $75 and then end up having to park outside anyways because there is no parking. Also if you like that the fire alarms go off randomly in the middle of the night then you might like it here because it might be 3 am but mountain lofts doesn't care. They will blare the fire alarms until the firefighters come. Happens more than you might think. ELEVATORS ARE SKETCHY. I spent an hour with a group of people stuck in an elevator that had stopped working because (get this) the fire alarms went off.The firefighters however did a good job to rescue us. LIVE HERE AND BE STRESSED. That is all there is to it. If you are looking to make your college experience more stressful and hard then live at the mountain lofts and there dysfunctional management will make sure you are always stressed, always angry, and always annoyed. read more

So I lived here for a year and a half (because I really loved my ward and was too lazy to move) Pretty apartments, nice gyms & courtyard. But the online payment system crashes a ton and you get charged late fees. I once had to take money orders there every day for a week because they won't accept cash or cards (unless on the online system...which had crashed). I owed them more money than I could pay at once (with my card limit) and there is no way of paying on multiple cards or a portion one day and the rest the next day. So, if you can't afford your $600+ rent plus a couple hundred dollars of late fees all at once, you're screwed. Though the apartments are pretty it was clearly built with poor materials, especially in the bathrooms. I had stuff break ALL THE TIME even though I was super careful. It got so frustrating having to call maintenance all the time that I eventually learned to fix something myself or just lived with broken stuff. The fire alarms go off a ton. Often in the middle of the night. Once at 3am in march because of a burst pipe...eventually we covered the alarms in our apartment and wouldn't leave where they'd go off. Lol. After the flooding many of the residents were forced to stay in a hotel and STILL had to pay their rent...?! Other dog owners wouldn't pick up after there dogs. I started picking up after them when I would take my dog out. People would also leave trash out there. I would usually pick up after them. One time I didn't pick up someone's soda cup to see if anyone who worked there (maintenance or something) would throw it out. It was there for 3 months until I couldn't stand it anymore and threw it out. I was wondering if they had no maintenance or yard people in charge of that. Anna, one of the managers, is the best! She is super sweet and helpful! I loved the various events and activities they had. I had lots of problems while there but there are definitely redeeming qualities and it seemed like the company who owns ML were changing things and cracking down on one of the less favorable managers. read more

As a parents I'm very disappointed in the management here! I was hopeful that things would get better with the new management however I feel like it is worse!! I feel like they are very dishonest in their dealings. Just make sure everything they promise you is in writing as the things they promise you verbally never transpire! It's a shame!!! I've never experienced so much dishonesty! On a side note the check in and check out experience was a nightmare. From dirty apartments at check in, cleaning fees and major disorganization and chaos. This place freaking sucks. Literally don't live here. You can get something so much better around here for the same price. It's crowded and everything is low quality at best. Every amenity they claim to have is a lie. They have parties every month for their tenants? Yeah, they charge for entry. Everything in this apartment breaks in four seconds. I was second to last to move in, and there is such little cabinet space that I had to keep all my dishes and food in my bedroom on top of my closet THAT DOESNT HAVE A DOOR. The apartment complex is terrific. Modern, stylish, spacious, great gyms, clean, and seriously the best beds in any complex by far. Though, what turns me off is the crowd that lives there. I personally find that most of the tenants are pretty immature. There's alot of running around and shouting, childish pranks in the public bathrooms, and you can smell weed as you walk around on most weekends. It probably doesn't help that Mountain Lofts claims to be "the swankiest apartments in Rexburg". Though I must say that if you bring it up, the management will normally work hard to please you and I've had friends even get $50 gift cards. Overall, I love the complex itself, but I feel like the tenants are kids that aren't ready to leave high school behind them. read more
