Stone Boxing is in a great location and is one of the closest gyms to Japantown. I initially joined because my partner was interested in learning how to box and I wanted to incorporate new cardio into my routine. We started coming regularly and really enjoy learning the proper techniques. Currently, there are three coaches that alternate throughout the week and each are great teachers. The coaches and even the members take their time to help you if needed. Each class I attend is always a good workout! Monday to Friday there are two morning classes, two afternoon classes and an evening class. There is also one class on Saturday at 9:00AM so there's definitely always time to fit it in your schedule. read more

Everyday I leave this gym I feel better than when i stepped in the door. This is an amazing and very high level and professional gym. Ran by fighters with experience to help train the next generation. Lots of classes and different levels of experience available here, don't be shy. I have been a member for 6 months and i love it. This is the first gym I joined and I felt welcome and at home from day one. This place really feels like one big family and I am so happy to be apart of it. Coach Andy and Coach X bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise that you won't find elsewhere. There are lots of friendly faces ready to help out and push you to be better and grow. This gym has become a staple in my life and I look forward to my workouts and classes here. I would suggest anyone give this place a try whether you have no experience or are a seasoned boxer. I took my son for a trial session, and unfortunately, we were extremely disappointed. When considering a boxing gym and potentially paying for a membership, I have certain expectations as a parent. My son started with some outdoor training, but it quickly turned into unstructured play, more like a youth camp than a disciplined boxing session. When he moved on to jump roping, he asked the coach if he could do it a certain way. Instead of offering guidance or a simple explanation, the coach responded with, "That's weird, they're going to think you're weird." This made my son feel uncomfortable on his very first day. As a parent, I find this completely unacceptable. We came from another boxing gym where the coaches were supportive and provided a structured, encouraging environment. While that gym is too far for us to attend regularly, we were hoping to find something closer that still offers professionalism and discipline. We'll be checking out Dark Horse Gym next, hoping to find the structure, discipline, and character-building environment that my son deserves. read more

Stone Boxing is great! I do privates with Andy and he's an amazing coach! I've boxed on and off for the last few years and I'm glad I've found a place where I can see myself going to long-term. I love that he focuses a lot of form, lays a good foundation of the basics, and also challenges you as you progress. And he makes the sessions fun! What's great is that his gym is for everyone, whether you're a complete beginner to boxing, looking to box to increase your fitness and athleticism, or wanting to become a fighter. Love this gym and highly recommend for all levels. Although the gym is owned, managed, and coached by professional and high-level boxers, EVERYONE is made to feel welcome and is coached equally during regular classes. I've trained at many combat sports gyms, I have 2 black belts (BJJ and kajukenbo) and have competed in MMA, Boxing and BJJ for 20 years and this is one of the best gyms I've trained at. Lots of classes every day, large and clean space, tons of heavy bags, new workout equipment, and plenty of open gym time. Reasonable pricing too. This is the first boxing gym I've ever joined and it's been an amazing experience! I simply wanted to start boxing to become more active, lose some weight and get healthier. Andy is the best trainer in the area! I came to Andy not knowing anything about boxing. He has trained me to be able to throw combos, practice defending myself, and how to correctly spar opponents.
