After trying and liking a similar studio that was a little too far for me, I ended up giving…read moreSculpt50 a try and really liked it as well. I'd heard of Lagree but never really knew what it was, and didn't even know this was Lagree going into it, but it's basically a more intense form of pilates that uses a megaformer vs the traditional one. I'm glad I had a base of already working out and trying two other similar classes before coming here, so it was a little less intimidating. I think a beginner could definitely get the hang of this, but having a good foundation felt necessary to get the full benefits of the class and workout. And of course instructor direction and examples were a big factor in succeeding in the classes as a newcomer. I've had a handful of different instructors and have definitely found the one that is more my style and more motivating to me (shout out Ankitha), but I've generally liked all of the instructors enough to go back to their classes. Finding an instructor that works for you makes all the difference though when you're powering through a touch class, which these often are. I originally signed up for their first timers offer of 4 classes for $99. Other than that, without a membership classes run at $38 per, but they have a ton of different packages and memberships that could make classes range from $11 (if you went every single day) to $30 with a larger upfront cost. I ended up getting a class pack so that I wasn't limited or expected to attend a certain number of classes a month and have really liked the flexability. They have tons of classes throughout the day and week, so finding an opening isn't too hard.

I had already taken a variety of other Lagree classes before but I definitely needed a refresher on how to use the reformer. Olivia was thorough and listened to the needs of others who needed accommodations/modifications. She was also super motivated and challenged our class with her workout set. I came out the studio with my whole body quivering! The studio is very bright and allows for so much sunlight which I love. However, there seemed to be a little bit of a light funk of body odor that lingers throughout the place. I hope they find a way to circulate fresh air around the studio to make it a better visit next time!

I hate to be the one to bring the rating down but wow, Yelp let me down! I bought a voucher for…read morethese classes some time ago *based on the Yelp reviews* and was in for the shock of my life. The 5 star reviews set my expectations way too high. This review is for 1 weekday morning class. Btw, I love Zumba and have taken dance and fitness classes regularly with other instructors and studios. The pros - Sheila is a great dancer, I'm guessing she has a dance background and not just fitness instruction (big difference). Negatives - *The studio is very old and shabby with not enough air during class or even lighting for my liking. I would not send my kids to Dance Effects studio which Sheila uses for Zumba. *I got there 15 minutes early but doors don't even open until right before class start time. Regulars show up 5 minutes before class or after. *Students are mostly regulars and cliquish *Sheila doesn't really instruct, she mostly moves and you follow. *Most students do not or cannot follow the routine so energy in room is low. Low impact, good for older adults but not me. *Oddest bunch of students I've ever experienced, two students were literally doing their own routines, 1 with hand weights and the other having a great old time by himself and hooting. The 1 with hand weights stared grinding her hips for no apparent reason during cool down even though that wasn't part of Sheila's routine. It's great regulars have found a groove and probably cleared it beforehand to do their own (rehabilitative?) workouts during class time but it would be helpful if Sheila explained this to new people. Otherwise, very distracting! The guy hooting was annoying even when not dancing. *Regulars were complaining about Sheila before doors opened and gossiping about an incident that occurred the day before which caused one of them to leave class early. Sheila seemed high-strung and/or in a bad mood. Overall I had the strangest and most memorable Groupon-Fitness experience here. Your mileage may vary!

Both experiences were incredible! I am so blown away by the community-minded, clean, humble, hard working spirit of this gym and its owner, Cesar. My sister and I got such a great work out, and had so much fun that I brought my team a month or two later. My team bonded so much over the experience. Cesar was attentive and welcoming, he pushed us while still being inclusive, we had fun together and we internalized the theme of our offsite: step into the ring. Incredible team building and so different than the typical corporate events! Highly recommend!

Their website says they welcome…read morechildren of all experience levels, all needs which made me feel comfortable enrolling him as a beginner. But from the first class, he was placed with kids who already knew the basics. There was no real introduction to fundamentals. He was just expected to follow along. One trainer checked in briefly now and then, had my son hit pool noodles then moved on, never once got down to his level and showed him how to punch properly or how to stand properly, you know the fundamentals, so basically I'm paying $275 just for my son to punch pool noodles randomly, this place felt like a joke. those moments weren't enough to help my son understand what to really do. I brought this up to the coach because I wanted to give the program a fair shot. I explained that my concern wasn't my son's ability. It was that he hadn't been taught the fundamentals, and that the gym advertises support for beginners. Instead of addressing that, it felt like the conversation shifted toward the idea that I was expecting too much from my son. That wasn't it. I wasn't expecting more from my child. I was expecting more from the COACHING staff. Any beginner needs guidance to get started. The coach dismissively suggested moving my seven-year-old into the three to five-year-old group, which didn't seem like an appropriate solution. When I said that, I was told that if I wanted more one-on-one instruction, I would need to pay extra for private sessions. That was not what I was asking for. I just wanted a standard level of instruction for beginners that was described on the site. At that point, I felt my concerns weren't being heard, so I canceled our membership. I think this gym could be a good fit for kids who already have boxing experience. But based on our experience, I wouldn't recommend it for true beginners who need the fundamentals taught. I hope they consider offering a more structured beginner path, because that would make a real difference for new families.
