I have been to this Amish Buffet a couple of times and I enjoy the scenery and the people. It can be slightly crowded at times but it's more of a tight knitted town with middle aged to older men and women which gives a more peaceful, calm vibe. The service is always amazing with the constant small talk yet remaining small not bothersome along with constant refills. The food isn't bad! The fried chicken and livers, mashed potatoes, Brussel sprouts and the desserts were all very tasty with a large variety. I drove an hour and 20 minutes which should tell you something about my recommendation. Again, look at that VIEW. There is also a golf course next door so you can play a round after eating. read more

While we have dined here in the past, we tried to dine at the breakfast buffet this morning. We arrived at 9:00 AM. The signs posted on the door say hours are 8:00 AM- 8:00 PM. This buffet was worth the 100+ miles to get there. The Amish people are so friendly and cook delicious food! We were there on Saturday which turns out to be the best day to go.... the roast beef was melt-in- your-mouth phenomenally delicious! But then so was the fried chicken, noodles, green beans, salad bar including beets(yum). I enjoyed the best bread ever, too, with delicious apple butter Had to go back for more of that! It's hard to save room for dessert but you must try everything! The cherry pie had popping fresh cherries. The chocolate cream pie was delicious. The cookies were some of the best I've ever had. The scenery at the restaurant is so pretty. There are picnic tables and shelters. But there are no docks for the boats so you'd be best off driving there. It's definitely worth the trip. We were getting bored with the eating establishments we have been frequenting and were looking for a new place to eat. Believe me, Stoll's Lakeview Restaurant is not what we were looking for. The restaurant is billed as an Amish restaurant, which is usually very good, but almost everything we tried was barely edible. The chicken livers and gizzards (which was precisely what we drove forty miles to have), were so dry and hard we could hardly choke them down. Everything else we tried wasn't much better. For a buffet they have a pitifully small selection. The only redeeming quality was the beautiful view of the lake. If you just want to sit and relax you might enjoy your visit, but if you're hungry don't waste your time or gas. read more

We've lived in Indiana for 2 years & just found out about Stoll's. We had company, from out of town, and we took them out to lunch. The buffet was excellent. This is a long standing Resturant on Boggs Lake. It has a large parking lot and a nice little walking path down along the water where you can enjoy the beautiful landscaping and views of the water. This place is known for their Amish style cooking. They offer breakfast, lunch and dinner buffet. I was here for breakfast and enjoyed it. They have the usual scrambled eggs, biscuits, hash browns, sausage gravy, bacon, sausage links, pancakes with warm maple syrup, French toast made with homemade bread as well as a few other items. Been a while since we've been there. I took my wife for a meal. Food quality has went downhill, mediocre even. Service was also mediocre. Waitress waited until we were ready to leave before asking about drink refills. She was more interested in talking with the other Amish girls. Instead of a refill, I asked for some good coffee. Brought me a watered down very unpalatable cup, and then charged me $2.50 for it. There really is no reason for us to go back again. Forgot to mention we were seated by the restrooms - not the most pleasant seat in the house. read more

Comfort food at its best! The buffet is small but lacks all the favorites. Don't skip the fresh bread and apple butter, it is truly the best thing in the buffet! The desserts are just what you'd expect at an Amish tan restaurant. They even have an ice cream machine for Sundaes. The restaurant is set beautifully on a lake, and we enjoyed seeing fishermen right outside the window in their boats. Oh, and the price is more than fair! read more

A couple of my friends and I decided to head south for some shopping. One of my friends had been to Stoll's and suggested for lunch during our trip. All three of us left full and very satisfied with our meal. The view was gorgeous as we pulled into the parking lot with the restaurant sitting along the 620 acre West Boggs Lake. The friendly hostess seated us along the windows so we could appreciate the relaxing lake view during lunch. All of the staff were extremely attentive, professional and provided excellent service. Stoll's is an authentic Amish buffet serving stick-to-your-ribs entrees since 1983. The buffet is split with made-from-scratch salads on the right side and entrees on the left. The breads and desserts are in a separate area. I usually pass on Fried Chicken but since this is one of the entrees their famous for I had to try. I wasn't disappointed as the crust was crispy but still tender as if steamed after frying. The lettuce salad was fresh and crisp with a nice selection of other salads. The side dishes I had were good, but not exceptional, fresh and seasoned well. The green beans were tender but not overcooked and the bread dressing was rather bland for my taste. I didn't have an opportunity to sample the ham, pork loin, noodles or the two home-made soups. My friends loved the fried chicken, noodles, buttery mashed potatoes and gravy with sliced bread. My friend even ordered a loaf of sliced white bread to go. Several desserts are also available to go as well and can be seen in the bakery case at the checkout counter. I'm not sure why but none of us opted for the home-made desserts. So unlike me!! but I knew we still had shops to go. Our server mentioned coconut cream pie, apple crumb, pecan, cobblers and bread pudding. I did hear folks rave about the cobbler and the little ones were loving the ice cream cones. All-in-all, the service was terrific, prices were affordable for the buffet, the food was tasty and plentiful with a gorgeous lake view. It was 50 dollars for my mom and I to eat there everything was basically out of a can the mashed potato's were runny ( like cauliflower with water ), carrots cold, corn and green beans both canned, limited deserts, and way over priced for food that was not worth the money. We were visiting friends in the area and chose this option for our lunch. Generally, I'm not a huge fan of buffets, as I've found the food to be mediocre, but Stoll's was quite good indeed!! The fried chicken was amazing, and as a bonus they had livers and gizzards on the buffet. The meatloaf was decent...probably a 3 out of 5 stars on the meatloaf. The salad bar, while small, had all the necessary items. The pies (included with the buffet) were absolutely stellar!! The chicken was absolutely 5 star fried chicken, as was the service. Everything else I'd call a 3 or 4, so we'll go with an overall 4 star review. BTW, as has already been mentioned, the views are wonderful! read more

I'm not in general a fan of buffets but I was starving!!! We walked in and the views of the lake are stunning from every seat. The restaurant itself is rather worn out, old chairs, carpet, people :/ The usual buffet items, small salad bar, fried chicken which was quite good, chicken noodles, green beans, corn ect...The desserts were the star for sure, all homemade and fresh but in an odd little room separate from main buffet, weird. All in all fresh food for a buffet and did I mention the views?! Would come back for cocktails on the lake but alas Amish country, no booze on this buffet. read more

Unforgivable is an "Amish" buffet with store bought margarine, kroger ranch dressing and non-dairy whip topping on the pie. The ham came in chunks with very little salt or sweetness, just boring. The beef was very plain round steak. The chicken tenders were average. The mash potatoes and gravy, green beans and stuffing have no flavor. I tried both the chocolate and peanut butter pie but again very weak flavor just sweet. Service was average and the place is clean but for $20 a person I have had much better. read more

What an excellent little quaint Amish restaurant. Jedidiah our waiter exceeded my expectations and kept our drinks filled and our tummy's full. The food was sickening but Jedidiah kept us full with with the crumbs in his succulent moist 13" beard. I think he got into his Mary's cookie a couple hours before because crumbs tasted a tad bit sweet. Overall Stolls Lakeview Restaurant was amazing. I remembered driving past this restaurant on the way down and thought the location on the lake was pretty amazing, so decided to stop here to eat on our way home. The views are spectacular. It's primarily an Amish-style buffet. You can order off a menu but I didn't see anyone doing so. The buffet was really good, considering it's a buffet. Food was fresh and well stocked. I did t get that tasteless, cheap vibe you get often from buffets. Great pies for dessert! My dad loves it here. I would love to stop here again! read more
