This is such a beautiful, legendary and charming hotel and even though there's a newer and more luxurious five star hotel nearby, this is definitely the place I would pick for a stay in the historic Fort Worth Stockyards. It's an extraordinary property. Supposedly the notorious outlaws Bonnie and Clyde stayed here in room 304 and they have a special suite dedicated to them. It's the actual room occupied by Clyde Barrow and Bonnie Parker during their 1933 stay in Fort Worth. It's a "Junior Suite" with a king size bed, seating area, dining table, desk and large bathroom. The view is picturesque, overlooking the Stockyards. Memorabilia is featured in the room as well as a long poem written by Bonnie for Clyde! So cool if you are a history buff. The lobby has a wonderful old Wild West feel to it. I really love the very authentic saloon bar and restaurant that's attached next-door which you can enter through the lobby to the left; they make great cocktails and wonderful ribs. The reception here is great and all the staff were so nice and polite, with that magical Texas charm. read more

You get what you pay for - or less. Booked the hotel for 1 night thinking the 3.7 stars was enough. Upon arrival I immediately saw the error of my assumption. Starting with the bad - the lobby is in desperate need of a facelift. There is a stale odor that made me want to run away! Check in was easy and the old fashioned keys you get are quite charming. The room on the other hand not so much. Because I like to remain positive - here it is The guy manning the front desk was very helpful by telling me to pull the valet cart rather than push it. In the room - the sheets were white and crisp. Also I had a choice of pillows from hard foam to extremely soft pillows. Actually my favorite thing was the ceiling fan! Can't believe we paid $700+ for a night here. Instant regret, the bathroom toilet ran all night. The tires squealing out front of the hotel went 3:30AM. This place was louder than Bourbon street! I wouldn't even of left this review but come on (2) towels and (1) wash cloth no complimentary shampoo/conditioner. I even called and requested more towels. House keeping brought (2) little towels. For the price, it's a joke. The toilet keeps running the hot and cold handle is reverse. The telephone doesn't work, coffee makers doesn't work. It's rustic, but it needs upgrades the elevator looks like somebody has been slaughtered in it. Pictures off the wall with holes. Don't pay the price to get in this hype over price place! I get trying to stick with the old time theme but there are things that can and should be updated. The hotel is right on the main road so it's easy to walk to bars, restaurants and shopping. We chose to have a room on the backside of the hotel and didnt hear and any road noise, but complimentary ear plugs were provided just in case. I can't say that I'd stay again. read more

This hotel came very highly recommended to us and we spent over $1600 for three nights but sadly, this was one of the worst rooms I've ever stayed in. The carpet was bunching up and stained, the duvet had stains, the ceiling in the bathroom was falling down and moldy, the outlet at the sink was falling out of the wall, the hairdryer was caked in hair product residue from several past uses, and on and on. We were incredibly disappointed. We mentioned our concerns to the front desk, which by the way all the staff customer service was excellent, and they were fully booked so there was not a different room they could move us into. Completely forgot to share about my experience at the Stockyards Hotel in Fort Worth months ago for a work conference. We absolutely adored it!! We had team members fly in from all over Texas and surrounding states for a 3 day conference which was more like a reunion after not seeing each other all of COVID. Fort Worth was the destination of choice because it truly represents an essence of Texas while prices for hotels and conference rooms were reasonable in comparison to Dallas. Back to the Stockyards Hotel. It's this frozen in time saloon style hotel with bar, gorgeous seating areas, and a conference room filled with all things cowboy. Instead of spending our day in a stuffy, fluorescent lit room with presentations all day, we all felt so warm and homey inside "Booger Red's." Loved it! Best part? You walk outside and poof you're on cobblestone, smack dab in the middle of the actual FW Stockyards. Prime location! read more

If you get a street view room, it's best to have a white noise machine in tow. WHERE DO ALL THESE ANNOYING MOTORCYCLES COME FROM? Seriously. Jeez Louise. Other than that, it's a great place to stay. Walking distance to Stockyards and Joe T Garcia's. Valet parking is the only option, but nice to ditch the car for a while. Love the registration desk. But the sqeaky stairs make me feel like it might be haunted. Restaurant is onsite and convenient. Loved the ceiling fan in the room but did not like the lack of outlets. Tired and Beat. STAY AWAY The photos of this hotel look great on the Internet. Don't believe them. This hotel has passed its sell by date, decades ago, and survives on reputation and location alone. The desk help is severely undertrained, and does not bother to get up from their chair in order to greet you or answer questions. The lobby is quaint and cute, and that's the best part about the place. Our "outlaw room" (room 328) was in sad condition. The shutters would not stay closed, the carpet was old and musty, the air handler was configured so as to regularly drain condensation through two pipes in the ceiling above the tub, thereby making impossible use the one towel rack in the bathroom, and the surface covering on the sink counter appeared to be stick on vinyl paper. entertainment was provided by the suite across the hall (room 329), which appeared to host some type of late night business that resulted in its door being opened and slammed not less than 30 times between 2 AM and 4 AM. This may have been due to it being situated next to the back stairs, which provide quick access to the alley behind the hotel. This noise continued long after I called the front desk to complain. I truly regret having booked this hotel, since we invited another couple as our guests for the weekend, and I was embarrassed that I made this choice. Never again. I was told that the hotel was sold to new owners one year ago, and that they "had plans" to renovate. I have plans to eliminate global warming also, which I suspect will be done before this hotel is renovated. read more

Bathtub wouldn't drain, curtains weren't taken care of, toilet needed repair, parts of the shower were coming out of the wall, handles on the sink were installed backwards, and details on the tank of the wooden facade of the toilet were cracked or hanging loose by their screws. This is a historic hotel that dates back before the automobile. I did not stay overnight here, but hung out in the lobby and hotel saloon. The whole surroundings seems to stay unchanged except a few minor modern upgrades like air conditioning, televisions, and smoke detectors. The lobby had great seating and great place to hangout. The saloon is traditional western 1800s with saddle seating at the bar. There are a lot of western art hung all around this hotel. Outside on the corner you will find the gift shop basically selling items on the street. They do have valet parking if you plan to stay here and the staff is very friendly and helpful. It is a must stop when visiting the Fort Worth Stockyards. read more

My husband and I stayed at the Stockyard Hotel during a 2 night, weekend getaway. We could have chosen a more modern hotel in the area, but we wanted to have the complete adventure of the Ft Worth Stockyards. The hotel was very nice, and we felt as if we had stepped back in time for a while. We stayed in the Outlaw Room, 2nd floor, corner of East Exchange Ave and Main Street. It was very comfortable, except for the bathroom being a bit tight, but that was to be expected since we were giving up modern for the feel of the old west. I had requested extra washcloths when I reserved the room, but we didn't get them. Also, our toilet seat was loose, but we dealt with it just fine. I loved having a ceiling fan in the room, and the earplugs were a needed added bonus, seeing as how the streets outside are incredibly noisy on Friday and Saturday nights. The guy that checked us in wasn't very friendly, but I guess he was nice enough. The valet guys were great, very friendly, and very helpful! The girl that checked us out was friendly and sweet. Overall, we had a relaxing and enjoyable weekend, and I definitely recommend the Stockyard Hotel. read more

Don't stay here. I booked a suite for $600+ in March. When I arrived, I was shocked to see the poor condition of the lobby - doesn't look like much has been spent on maintenance in many years. The sofa in lobby had large stains. Wife visited the lobby bathroom and told me it was "nasty". We arrived at 1:30p and were told the room wasn't ready. At 2:30p we were told the same. I asked if possible to check with housekeeping. The response was that housekeeping comes down at 3:00p with list of rooms that are clean. I was also told that the internet is down and I couldn't be checked in anyway. I asked what happens if the internet is down for hours. I was told that there is a "work around." Management apparently not spending money on customer service. Got call at 3:20p saying room is ready. Internet was still down but no problem getting key this time. Room was ok but very dated and in need of repairs -- broken towel rack, cracks in tile and bad caulk job around tub. Ear plugs on the bedstand with placard "silencers for loud cowboys." It was raining so not much noise from the street, but noise from hallway could be heard easily. Best part of stay was very good water pressure in shower. Internet still down when checked out in morning. The Drover Hotel down the street looks like a 4 star hotel in contrast to this place. Next time I'm staying there or anywhere else. read more

It is now thanksgiving morning and nothing is open. We can't even get a cup of coffee. We decided on this establishment for our wedding. Steven, the manager of the restaurant H3 is amazing. The food was over the top!! Everyone loved it!! Staff was great during our wedding. Just beware of the "event coordinator" Mrs. Robertson. Not a pleasant experience at all with her. Steven saved her. His above and beyond the night before and the day of helped ease the sting of her lack of and actions. She isn't anyone I would recommend dealing with for ANYTHING. Overall we had a great day. Love love love this place! I can't say enough good things and can't believe I hadn't reviewed sooner. I was gifted a package that included an overnight stay, admission to the rodeo, dinner at the restaurant downstairs and breakfast by my parents as a college graduation gift last summer. The hotel is perfectly located right smack dab in the middle of the stockyards. The downstairs common area was beautifully decorated and had ample seating options. The rooms were perfect! Huge, comfy, beds, TV, sitting area, the usual. And of course a great view of downtown. I came with my boyfriend and unfortunately we got into a bit of a tiff and after all was said and done he decided to go home and I stayed. The reason I mention this is because the staff was SO sweet and understanding and went above and beyond to try and make my stay perfect! It was really awesome. I didn't make it to dinner because I was upset so they let me use that credit towards other things like breakfast, drinks, a koozie. There was a basket of goodies for purchase in my room and it had a cow hide koozie that I was in love with and they were sweet enough to let me use my dinner credit for that. When I came in from the rodeo they checked in on me, when I came down for breakfast and later at checkout. Ive never experienced such great customer service anywhere. I can't comment of dinner since I skipped out but the breakfast was delightful! Hope to have the chance to stay here again soon! read more

This place is very historic. The staff is very friendly. Valet is quick but even if you stay the night there it's $15 a day/night. Our view was on the stockyard side so it was a bit noisy but that came with the territory there were earplugs by the bed. The walls are VERY thin.. so take that advice how you need. There's a basket in the room with things to purchase even snacks, so if you're a drunk eater... you may have to pay for a snickers bar. The bed was very comfy and the AC worked great. The only complaint, there was mold on the shower head. Ick. read more

showed up to the valet. no one is at valet. walk to the front desk, ask is valet is open. she says yes but no one helps you. we check in and gives us no directions to the elevator. we walk back to the front desk to figure out where the elevator is. she rudely reply where it is. we check In our room and go out for the night. get back to the hotel to find no pillows on our bed with no pillow cases. Call to front desk to get us pillow cases. trying to go to bed as my wife puts pillow cases on all the pillows. I highly not recommend this hotel. the hotel is decorated for Chirstmas which looks amazing but we will not staying here again. Spend the extra money and stay somewhere else. read more

As a self proclaimed cheapskate, I'm usually pretty critical where I spend my money. I have to say this is a great place to stay. I was skeptical of the price but it's money we'll spent for a great time. The ambiance is genuine old west. Nothing is over polished or contrived. Beds were comfortable, room was clean and well furnished. Bathroom was clean and in appropriate order for the setting of the room. While I plan on spending most of my time touring the stockyards, I am looking forward to a good night sleep. Zach and the girls at the desk were very friendly and welcoming. I will absolutely recommend this to my friends and look forward to a return visit when I can spend more time. Nice looking hotel, so we decided to stay. Went to bed at 11pm and at 12:30 the neighbors in other room woke us up by being drunk and yelling. The walls are paper thin. Also all night long the antique toilet filled up ( sounds like something hammering) and when the a/c kicks on, it scares the crap out of you. Then at 2:37am another drunk guy started beating on his door and yelling at his wife and friends because he thought they were fooling around. How do I know this? Because after it woke my wife and I and the whole hotel I went down to shut this guy up. For almost an hour we sat and listened and hotel didn't escort these people out. Thank God as soon as I went down the police showed up and took care of the problem. Oh there's two pipes on the ceiling above bathtub that constantly drip into the tub. Weird. For this price I'm not impressed so I barely gave it 3 stars. Also room 316 is haunted. Heard someone walk back and forth 3 times during the night and open the entertainment center doors. read more

We stayed here in our wedding night. It was truly a wonderful night. Right in the heart of the stockyards. We spent a couple hours at the bar downstairs and it was so fun with some great margaritas! Then the room was large with a wonderful view and very clean. It also had some history to it which I loved! We had a wonderful time and the service af the front desk was great! The hotel itself is very nice. The room we stayed in was the loudest room I have ever stayed it. Everytime the air conditioner turn on it sounded like a train passing. The toilet is the old style that you pull the chain down. The toilet would wake my wife when it flushed. The loudest part was the people talking next door. They were not yelling, they were talking in their normal voice and we could hear every word they spoke. The stay for us was not an enjoyable stay. read more

I needed to find a place to have a large group dinner and Leah was so helpful. I had a group of 40 plus and we ended up renting the banquet room and bar/patio area. I opted for some appetizers and a cocktail hour followed by a buffet dinner. The food was good and the girls serving us were great. Plates and glasses/bottles were constantly being picked up. My only complaint was how long it took to finally close out our bill. I would recommend it if you've got out of town guests and want the authentic Texas feel. read more

Yuk! We chose this hotel because it was old and we wanted a hotel with that old west charm. There is nothing charming about this hotel. Upon arriving we were looking for the parking lot and could not find it so we call ed the front desk and were Told that they only had valet parking and it costs 15.00 a day! We got to our room... We were shocked! The room was in the shape of a triangle, had six windows three overlooked a wall of air conditioners the other three had a view of a fire escape and a roof. The rooms had no refers. No coffee makers. The bathroom was SO dark a candle would have had more light! We love old hotels but this place needs some serious help. We were going to stay four nights but left the next day... At and additional charge of 50.00 for and early departure. We went to the Hyatt and had a wonderful rest of our vacation. read more

I didn't stay the night, but I spent several hours here with some friends who did. Even though was I wasn't staying overnight, I was still able to valet with the hotel ($9 for non-overnight, $13 for overnight). We about 7 girls up in the Geronimo suite for a mini bridal shower/bach party. The room itself was a great size - two double beds, a pull out couch, and the toilet/shower was separate from the sink vanity. We appreciated this so we could all get ready without being squeezed into a tiny bathroom! The room could easily and comfortably sleep 6. The hotel staff couldn't have been more helpful. We forgot a wine opener and we were able to just take the bottles down to the bar and they opened them for us. The bellman also offered filled our coolers with ice. What a guy! The hotel was lively with guests both in the restaurant and the lobby. This place is in a great location and you can walk to everything. I left the hotel around 10:00pm and valet was a breeze. Great time here, and I will for sure be back to spend the night! read more

The first time we stayed here we had a great experience. This time....not so much. My nieces room had a leak in the bathroom ceiling (room 214) from the time they checked in. They reported the problem that day. A maint main came to fix it the next morning, but whatever he did, it did not work. So the kids had to listen to the constant dripping all weekend. Told they couldn't change rooms because there were only king rooms left and they needed two beds. So by Sunday morning even the carpet was wet. Management said they would take care of the problem and never did. They said they wouldn't charge for the room but still did. To add insult to injury, the girls had a $50 lottery ticket go mysteriously missing Sunday. In my room, I forgot my flatiron, an expensive one. When I called to ask to have it shipped to me I was told housekeeping didn't come across it. I know for a fact it I left it in there. So someone in housekeeping is not honest. Very disappointed in this stay considering we had such a good first experience. After these experiences, we would not stay here again. read more
