Stix is fantastic. There is nothing not to like. The food both in terms of quality and quirkiness of menu is first rate. The building itself is beautiful. The staff are pros. I had the ahi tuna rice bowl and the freshness and flavors were amazing. We were a group of four and each one raved. After dinner we bowled and the lanes are first class. Stix would be successful in Grand Rapids but to have gem like this is Ludington is pretty cool. read more

While the food was delicious, half of it arrived cold. It was replaced eventually but we had to eat our fish and sides in phases.

Snobby people food overly expensive and the hostess are just lazy and one blond girl got mad when I walked in because she was on her phone. A different day that blond hostess was my waitress and we waited forever for our food on a Sunday when there wasn't many people and she never checked in nothing and had to wait for the check just waiting and waiting. read more

Went to Stix and sat at the bar with my boyfriend and a friend. After being ignored and finally getting service by one of the two ditsy female bartenders working (we three were the only ones at the bar), I asked to start with a water and they never came back to see if I or my friend wanted anything else to drink. The one bartender was sitting behind the bar eating while the other was ranting to I assume a manager about how horrible her job is. My boyfriend had to wave down one of the two to just cash out. I cannot say enough positive things about Stix. The building is gorgeous, the staff was very friendly, and the food was delicious! One friend had the Shrimp Stuffed Cod and said it was likely the greatest meal he had ever had in his life. Another friend had the Ahi Tuna Bowl and it looked like a work of art. After dinner we went over to the bowling alley for a few games and it was the nicest alley I have ever been to. I would recommend Stix to anyone and I will certainly return the next time I am in the area. read more

First, Doc get your manager to take charge of the front of the house! Never have I ever seen the chef in the front of the house over rule the manager, never the less the blonde gal in the green jacket override them both. Get the blond green jacket gal out. I have never in my life been asked to move from a 4-top table because green jacket gal wanted to make a 6top by pulling 2 tables together. We had finished our appetizer and they needed a 6 top in the bar area. So, she pulled 2 - 4 tops together to seat six people. When we went to move, which it was stupid of me to accommodate her request, they sat someone at the table meant for us. To top it off, once we went to the bar I turn around and saw they never sat the 6 people at our table. By then I was fuming! Talk about CAPITAL RUDE! Believe this she offered us a desert for helping her. Actually gave it to the guy seated next to me. We are locals that live in Ludington and I will never return or recommend Stix to anyone. I have eaten here five times now so I think I have a rather well rounded opinion. Our servers have all been good, friendly and attentive. I do prefer that a server know where the food belongs when it gets to the table however. Obviously if it's a runner bringing out food they would have no idea who ordered what but the server should. I have had many different items from the menu. They have all been good but nothing spectacular. The most consistent complaint I have is that the food has NEVER been served hot. Every single item I have ordered from cheeseburger to filet mignon has arrived luke warm. Every. Single. Time. This is not a fluke or a learning curve. It's a problem. read more

I'll preface this review with the circumstances first and update the review after my second visit. Couple of buddies stopped in on a weekday afternoon for a look at the new Stix's. This place has gone through a complete renovation and looks beautiful. The bartender was wonderfully pleasant and offered us a great selection of Tap Beers, Cocktails, and lunch menu. Caution at this point the kitchen closes from 3-4pm. It wasn't busy so we walked around inside and out to see the new spaces for a return visit. The outside Patio is awesome with a wall fireplace, Corn hole games, Bocci ball court, lots of seating, umbrellas, grass and patios. This will be the place to hang out on a sunny afternoon in August. It was quite during our first visit but they do recommend reservations for evening dining. Can't wait to return for dinner and sunny afternoon gatherings. Almost forgot to mention the beautifully renovated bowling alley adjacent which could be a great alternative for the kids or fun on a rainy day too. I've been visiting Ludington for a long time and remember when Stix Bar was the dive bar where the dog walked on the roof, so it was fun to visit the newly transformed restaurant! Beautiful outdoor area! My party was seated quickly, even during the busy summer season. Hostess and servers were very nice. I had the whitefish and mashed potatoes, which when eaten together had the right seasoning. I look forward to visiting again in the fall! read more

Went to Stix recently. I know they are still working out kinks in the new restaurant. If want to eat at a place that has super bright lights ( kind of like a cafeteria setting) then this is the place for you. It's too bad that they are going for higher end but way too bright and loud. We were on vacation in Ludington this past week and stopped in to Stix around 1pm on Friday. We were a group of seven and we had driven by this massive location last year, while under construction. On Tuesday, our fishing charter captain recommended it, so we were excited to go. The positives are that the building and beer garden really are beautiful, our actual server was very nice and service was decent but slow (pretty sure that was due to the kitchen). The food quality and pricing were acceptable, so I rated 2 stars for that. I would recommend some staff training on customer service for the rest of the employees. There were not any other employees that we encountered that were friendly or outgoing enough to explain how it all worked! It started when we came in, the hostess looked practically annoyed that we interrupted her cell phone/texting time as we walked through the door, and it was early afternoon, so it was not at all busy yet. I don't hear well and I am not sure exactly what she said, but basically she pointed in the direction of the beer garden and said something about ordering food from the bar out there. When we got outside we grabbed a large table from the many available and the rest of the group sat down while I walked around the LARGE outdoor area to see the different games and fire pit areas. No one was behind the bar out there. There was a cook or some kitchen staff doing something on the one side by the grill/food truck thing and someone else was sifting through the sand around one of the fire pits. There was not any bartender and we were out there long enough to look at menus and the frozen drink containers on the bar and it did not seem like anyone was coming out. So we all headed back inside and encountered 2 more employees on the way back through the building to the hostess, who was still not thrilled to seat us inside. The first one looked to be the indoor bartender and possibly the other was the one for outside, neither of whom said anything to us. I would expect someone would have welcomed us or offered to get us a table or explain how the service works there. There was also a man that I assume was the manager that was eating upstairs and did not check on any tables that I saw. How is a first time visitor supposed to know that you can't get the outdoor drinks while seated inside? (the frozen drink options did look delicious but we found out once we were seated inside that we could not have them inside). We will not likely be back to Stix on our trip to Ludington next year. It will be more likely that we would visit somewhere else. We had a great experience at the brewery in town earlier in the week. I will put a separate review for them. read more

Service is extremely lacking. This is the third time we have been to Stix and I'm not sure why! We go when it's not busy so getting seated is not an issue but each time our waitress has been rude, forgotten appetizers and almost non-existent. Yesterdays visit will be our last. There were three of us and we were seated right away. Our waitress wanted to take our drink and food order at the same time. We waited 50 minutes for our appetizer while I noticed other tables who were seated after us were receiving their apps before us. We saw our waitress in our area multiple times while we waited but she never stopped at our table. We had to flag her down to ask for more drinks and some waters. After our appetizer we waited more for our entrees. I'm not sure how long but we were ready to leave and try somewhere different. Our meals were good except my son ordered his hamburger plain and it came with cheese on it. Again, not a huge deal, he scraped it off. While eating our waitress never stopped over once to ask if we needed anything or to refill drinks/waters. She came to our table a total of three times. Once to take our order, once to bring the food and once to deliver the bill. Stix is a neat setting with good food but possibly understaffed for the size of the venue, and definitely lacking in quality wait staff. A little too big for their britches! We have no plans to go back to Stix as there are many other places in Ludington to try. read more

More of a camp ground than a restaurant. Very overpriced for well below average food. Generic can of Fayga soda for $3 (a 12 pack at Meijer is $2.79) It's known for entertainment and pizza. They should just "stix" to what they know. Recommend you eat somewhere else first before going there for entertainment. read more

First time and it won't be the last. Came on the fourth of July with the rest of the tourists. When we were seated the hostess said it would take a while because they were short staffed. It did take some time but when she came she was a good waitress. Took our drink order and dinner order. Food arrived in a timely manner and it was delicious. Prices were reasonable. DO NOT RECOMMEND....Absolutely, and I mean ABSOLUTELY horrible customer service. Put in a reservation for 7pm days out from my in in-law's Anniversary, Stix called to confirm the reservation the day of! We showed up at 6:30pm, nice and early, and checked in. We sat patiently and waited for well over an hour watching multiple groups just walk right in to be seated. We eventually went up to speak to the hostesses, who acted like they'd never seen us and they asked "how many.?" We had to re-explain that we had a reservation, and we had already been waiting for quite some time. To which they say "you don't have a reservation though," holding a confused look on their faces; these being the same hostesses we checked in with over and hour and 15 minutes prior. The same hostesses who could see us, for that entire time, sitting 5 feet from them in the entry way, through big glass doors..smh. I, again, explained we did, and that they taken our name and wrote it down and even confirmed our reservation when we checked in! At that point, we were told we would be seated right away, to then sit there for another half hour, with even more groups walking in, crowding the front and being sat before us. When we tried to talk to the hostesses again, one of the same ones, and a new one; the new one put her hands on me, saying that, they were doing their best, and we just needed to be patient because "we didn't even have a reservation!!" She did not give me a chance to speak, before turning away! At this point we were all speechless! I stood there with my husband, and we watched her turn around and seat another group ahead of us, one that already had a table, but it was one they weren't comfortable in I literally could not make this up if I tried! As I'm walking away, I'm told by one of the young hostesses that they were clearing a table for us right then, she pointed at it, and so I went out to tell my family. Before they even cleared it completely, a random group; that had been bowling and then standing around in the bar, walked over and sat themselves! The hostess was scared of the people or something because then she came back and said sorry, I lost your table, I can't get them to leave. Now granted, she was young, and I felt bad for her, but when I asked her to get her manager, she ignored me but then offers, on a cold, rainy night, for us to go sit at one of their outside tables. My in-laws being over 70, and supposed to be celebrating their anniversary, have now sat for over two hours on an uncomfortable bench, to be asked if they want to take their achy bodies, both with arthritis, bad hips, canes, etc., outside?!?? Again, it's an icky night out, and it would have been cold and uncomfortable. I know she was "trying" but it was just the last straw, and I could tell that there was no organization, or rhyme or reason, to how things were being ran. It was also obvious that some guests mattered a bit more than others, which is unfortunate, as being locals, we might have frequented the restaurant often had things gone differently. At this point, both of my in-laws were in tears, it was such an awful experience. So, we decided to leave. HUGE shout out to Scotty's though! We made one call and they got us right in to try and help us out! The atmosphere was much more relaxed; no crazy, hectic chaos all over the place. Also, they knew us by name at Scotty's, wishing my in-laws a happy anniversary multiple times with deserts to celebrate! I had hoped, that since Stix had my in-laws information, their phone numbers and names from the reservation, and that since the entire group of hostesses saw us leave upset, that they might have had a manager call to apologize. This was obviously not the case. We will absolutely never step foot in there again, and if anyone asks, I will express just what my opinion is on this place. I have worked in restaurants for YEARS, been a dishwasher, busier, waitress and manager. I fully understand that you can't please them all, and I am generally very lenient because I know how insanely hard customer service can be. I tip insanely high, and I never complain about my food unless it's a complete epic failure and even then, I express my apologies for the inconvenience. That being said, I want to make it clear, it took A LOT, for me to provide this review; however this is establishment needs to improve and they need this kind of feed back, and I sure hope they don't just ignore it. read more

.At 4:30 pm I called and placed an order for a hamburger for pick up. I was told it would be ready at 5 pm, however, I should not come until.they called me just before it was done.i waited until 5:20 pm and finally called to check on my order. Oh yes, it was ready. I asked how long it was ready as eating a cold hamburger was not to my liking. I arrived to pick up my order and waited another 10 minutes while that hostess sat a table of 8. Eventually a guy came out with my change but no hamburger. A few minutes later a gal brought it out. Result..........COLD hamburger and French fries. Not impressed with the service and will certainly not get another take. Hopefully they will get it together!!!! read more
