The best seamstress! You couldn't go wrong with her. I have had countless things altered and created by MB.

The alterations were professionally done for a reasonable price and in a fair time. She was really nice to work with.

The opposite wall was mostly short dresses. I looked through the few racks and found only one dress the might work as Mother of the Groom, but since it was jammed in there, I didn't try to wrestle with the rack. There were a few pairs of shoes, but this is far from a full service bridal salon. Oh yeah, there were first communion dresses too. My quest continues.

I stopped in without an appointment and was immediately helped out. The salesperson pulled several dresses she thought would best fit my style and body type. I didn't have a dress in mind, so her expertise was greatly appreciated. I found my dress that day and much to my surprise, the prices were lower than what I had seen at chain stores for much better quality dresses. Not only that, but every dress is made specifically for the bride, so I was able to customize the fabric, color, neckline and straps. I used Francia for the alterations as well and the owner was extremely courteous and professional, not to mention a total sweetheart. I loved going in for my fittings and was always welcome to bring in my mom and at least one or two of my bridesmaids. The alterations were done on time and my dress was beautiful and fit like a glove on my wedding day. While I was only looking for my wedding dress, Francia also has a fantastic selection of mother of the bride/groom dresses (both moms found adorable dresses) and bridesmaid/homecoming/prom dresses (my teenage sister tried on a few of these too).

Upon scheduling the first appointment, I was treated like royalty. My first appointment, I had no idea what kind of dress I wanted. The staff was very patient with me. I couldn't pull the trigger right away, so my bridal party and mom went to lunch and came back so I could commit to the dress. Keep in mind, yes, you need an appointment to try on dresses. As they were with other customers, we killed time walking around before heading back to the shop. I went in around Labor Day, and my dress originally came in store in December. As my wedding was not until August, I was happy about this. I had 2 appointments for fittings. I was happy that they offered evening appointments for this so I didn't have to miss work. I LOVED my dress and received many compliments. Thank you, Martellen, for making me feel so beautiful on my wedding day.

I was given a piece of Belgium lace as a Christmas gift from my grandmother over 15 years ago. She bought it in Europe and gave it to me with the intention that I would use the lace for my wedding veil. Fast-forward to the present, and I had this gorgeous piece of lace, but needed someone to make it into a veil. Heather at Crystal Bride highly recommended Paul. I am so thrilled that she did. Paul is amazingly talented. At my first visit, he held up the lace and showed me three different ways I could wear it as a veil. He then offered to meet me at Crystal Bride while I was having a fitting so that I could see the veil placement while I was wearing my dress. He told me that he could stitch in a comb and steam the veil while I was finishing my fitting appointment. Honestly, service does not get any better than Paul. He is so friendly, warm, and completely knows what he's doing. I am so pleased with his work and can't wait to wear my beautiful veil down the aisle in, oh, 17 days (but who's counting, right?). His pricing was beyond reasonable for the quality of his work. I have already recommended Paul at Sandra's to a friend getting married the weekend after me, and will hold on to his information for any future brides from my family/friends. Thank you, Paul and Sandra's Designs!

I had been to other salons and all were pretty disappointing due to primarily two factors: price and sample size availability. The kinds of dresses Antoinetta has are generally one of a kind/sample sale, so it was way more fun trying something different and definitely more affordable. Most importantly, the dresses she had fit me. All of the other salons had size 6-8 for their sample sizes, and wedding dresses are always sized smaller than expected. I'm generally a size 8/medium overall when shopping, and the other salons were putting me in dresses that I wasn't even comfortable walking out of the room in because they couldn't close, which didn't lead to a very body positive experience. Cha Cha was so kind and understanding and she listened to exactly what I was looking for! I automatically recommend her to anyone I know who is getting married! If they go anywhere else, it's not going to be nearly as great as an appointment with her!

Antonietta was an angel, she comes with decades of experience as a designer and I felt like she really took the time to get to know me personally and what I was looking for. She even put me in my mom's wedding dress for fun since my mom came from out of town with it. She made my veil by hand during the pandemic with a one of a kind discontinued lace, and it was the most beautiful veil I have ever seen or tried on. Bought my dress and veil off the rack for a very reasonable price and was never pressured to rush and make a decision like every other place I went to (my wedding was 8-9 months out). Absolutely love this shop and the personal care put into everything they do! Recommending to all my engaged friends to go here.

I was told to come in again for the tiara. I asked the associate about coming in again for the tiara because I lived kind of far and let her know this. She did not mention to me that they were moving locations a WEEK later! I called a week later to say that I'd like to come in to pick up the tiara (they sold the last one), but then they added that they are moving locations to Lombard and are pretty much packed up. This was unprofessional from the beginning since they could have mentioned this and saved my time and commute! I then was made aware that I could order the tiara through the phone and have it shipped to me since I told the associate that I live even FURTHER from Lombard. The tiara was ordered and no comments were made about picking up the tiara in store. They put my address on the invoice and told me it would be shipped to me. They added a shipping fee to my transaction. I called for weeks for a status update, but no one would try to help. THEN, they told me that another shipping fee would be added in addition to ship it to my house, otherwise I would have to come in the store to pick up the tiara. Every associate that I spoke with on the phone was rude and would not relay the message to a manager! I've been calling and asking to speak with the manager for MONTHS! Two emails were sent, still waiting for a reply on the second one. The first email was sent mid-August and a reply was given a MONTH LATER! The manager still didn't address added charges, poor customer service, and all the other issues I've been inquiring about. I'm still waiting to hear back from the non-existent manager about all this, as well as the tiara that was told to ship out at the MOST 6 weeks. It's been well over 3 months now. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL and sad that they are providing this kind of customer service to brides who are trying to enjoy this special time in their life! Seems like they take pleasure in stressing people out after reading all these other reviews!

Absolutely awful. Do not trust House of Brides in Lombard…read more If I could give zero stars, I would. This was hands-down one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had. I strongly urge you to avoid House of Brides in Lombard, no matter how many positive reviews you may read -- let me walk you through my experience. I visited the store in December 2024 and was initially pleased. Lucy helped me find my dress and was kind and communicative. She gave me the store's number to stay in touch and assured me the dress would be ready by mid-May 2025. But when mid-May came and went with no update, I had to reach out myself. I was told the dress was "still in production and would be shipped in the next two weeks." Two weeks passed. Still nothing. I called during business hours -- straight to voicemail. I left a message. No response. Now we were in early June, and I was still completely in the dark. With my wedding in early August, I was understandably growing anxious. I followed up with Lucy again mid-June. She repeated the exact same message -- word for word -- from a month earlier: that the dress was still in production and would be shipped in two weeks. At that point, I knew I was being misled. By the end of June, still no update. I went to the store in person. Maria first told me they had no idea where the dress was and that it was "out of their hands." But when I pressed, she checked the system and told us the dress was in Texas -- so clearly they did have some idea, they just didn't want to take responsibility. Throughout this entire process, not once did Lucy, Maria, or Ava (the store manager) apologize for the delays, misinformation, or complete lack of accountability. The dress finally arrived in mid-July -- two full months late. When I showed up for my first alteration appointment (which we had confirmed by phone), the dress wasn't prepped or steamed. They had the date written down wrong and were unprepared. To make matters worse, I was sold the wrong straps for my dress -- straps I had already paid for. This meant the seamstress had to spend extra time reshaping them just to make them work. Instead of the expected three alterations, we had to go in five times in one month because of repeated errors and delays -- none of which were ever acknowledged with a genuine apology. The only bright spot was Toni, the seamstress. She was kind, skilled, and professional -- a total lifesaver. If you do end up here, I sincerely hope you work with her. Thanks to Toni, the dress will be done in time. But I've been a nervous wreck for nearly three months, and this experience stole so much of the joy and excitement that should have come with my wedding dress. Bottom line: I would never, ever recommend House of Brides in Lombard.

Turned out - having Brooke around really helped us with staying on track, planning and the overall timing of everything we needed to do. Everyone at Tying the Knot is very helpful and knowledgeable. I never felt like I was bothering them with any of my 1001 questions I may have had (or more). Getting married and all of the planning is a really big deal and it takes a lot of planning that most people don't have the time for. Consider the value of your time and invest that to some great wedding planners at Tying the Knot. You might go "hmm...do I need this" at first but when it's all said and done...and everything went smoothly...you'll be happy you went the route of a wedding planner.
