I walk into the shop, take a pair of shorts out of my backpack, and show whom I believe is the proprietor the broken zipper. He says yes, he can fix it, and then asks as clear as day, "10 dollars ok?" I said that works for me. He proceeded to write up a ticket and asked me how soon I needed the job done. I said no rush. He then asked, 'Is Friday the 30th ok?' (11 days away). I also said that's fine. Next, he says 'That's 30 dollars,' but quickly corrected himself (realizing that 30 was the date he just mentioned), and now asked for $20. I said, 'But sir, you just told me the price was $10.' He became visibly angry, and said I was the one who made a mistake. While I attempted to talk, he repeatedly said "Bye" to me, so I left with my shorts. Here's the thing: I'm now Googling how much alteration shops charge to fix zippers on pants (which I assume is the same as shorts). What's coming up is anything from $10 - $25 dollars. So, I'm not complaining about the price of $20 -- I guess that's pretty standard -- I'm venting about how this gentleman made a mistake, blamed me, and angrily told me to go. I see others here have had great experiences. Glad for them. Maybe I caught this guy on a bad day.

Very disappointed by this establishment…read more False promises of timeline expectations were made on a Wedding dress alteration. No empathy for the mistake given by any employee. Only cash accepted which is something they decline to tell you when you call to make an appointment. When told their lack of information and reversing promises was unacceptable, they simply said, "Well, that's the way it is." They also mentioned that they were happy for us to take our business elsewhere if we were unhappy w/ their newfound ideas of customer service. Stay away from here, unless you really don't care about when you will actually receive your garment back. Wish I could give zero stars.

I had such high hopes! Never. Again. Simple wedding dress to be hemmed, sash belt to be attached,…read moreshoulder straps taken in. Hem was several inches too short - should have been touching the ground - hemmed to almost my ankle. Sash was CUT after rhinestones (making belt only go half way around?!) instead of behind the zipper. Thankfully, she still had the material and it was fixed (but she was NOT happy to do it, despite it being her suggestion). It would be one thing if she had been kind about her mistakes and found a way to add some length to the dress. That did not happen. She was actually rude to me for wanting her to finish the work as was promised, though nothing can be done about the dress being too short. I didn't mind spending more believing she was an expert with wedding dresses. This might be true. However, her work, while good, isn't what we agreed to and I expected.

YES, it's a family owned business that centers around FAMILY & they are able to have shop hours that work for their family. I've NEVER had an issue. Gayle & Heather are ALWAY kind & helpful. The work has been done beautifully & at a reasonable price. GREAT location AWAY from crowded shopping malls WITH parking. Can buzz in & out quickly. NOT a national chain store with national chain store hours. THANKFUL to have a local store like Monogram Shop available that also services major universities & colleges along with providing cute products and allows you to bring your own items in for monogramming. Thank you for all the years of TERRIFIC products & service!

Sometimes I purchase products they…read moreoffer in their retail shop, but most times I find items that I want to personalize and bring them to their store for monogramming. (Most stores won't let you bring in your "from home" or store bought stuff to be monogrammed... they require you to purchase from their inventory.) They've monogrammed my gifts for graduations, newborns, Christmas, birthdays, teacher gifts, etc... They have a limited selection of styles and that can be disappointing because there are some very chic elaborate monograms that I see on-line that are very inspiring. But the flip-side is that their monograms although basic are affordable. I've occasionally forgotten that their hours are limited and found myself pulling up to the store and being frustrated because I forgot their hours of operation... but that's my fault. They offer a very basic service with reliable quality and if they don't think they can fulfill your request they let you know. (this has happened to me a few times.... they know what their equipment can accommodate.) I know that they can personalize things for sports teams, businesses and more. I've been pleased with the service and product I've received. Plus it's unique to have a mother/daughter locally owned business thrive in this world of on-line retail. I've enjoyed watching the grandchildren/children grow up from being newborns napping in the back room, to becoming rambunctious kiddos running happily through the showroom.

Yady is nothing short of a miracle worker with alterations! My wedding dress had been with (who I…read morethought was) a very reputable tailor for over two months after taking my measurements. When I finally picked it up, it fit me very poorly. I was totally panicking and unsure of what to do with less than a month until the big day. I took it to Yady as a last resort, knowing she most likely wouldn't be able to fit me in. She totally could have turned me away seeing as it's basically the height of wedding season and I was giving her three weeks. Not only did she accommodate me, she was so friendly and reassuring about it, AND she finished the dress in 2 weeks so that we had a few buffer days to make final tweaks and get the dress perfect. Yadi did not owe me that kind of service whatsoever! I was blown away at her customer service. This was a tall order for a last minute request- NOT a simple hem job. The top of my dress basically had to be completely reconstructed. She totally saved my dress and restored my excitement about the wedding in general. Her prices were also very fair for what she had to do on the timeline at hand. I couldn't recommend her enough!

Hisami is a true artist with a needle and thread. I brought in a couple of items that needed some serious work--to include custom jacket apparel for kids and military uniform repair. Hisami not only took the time to understand exactly what I wanted, but she also offered suggestions that made the pieces fit and look even better than I had hoped. The quality of her work is outstanding. Every stitch is precise, and the fit is perfect. You can tell she has years of experience and takes immense pride in what she does. Plus, she's incredibly kind and patient, making the whole experience a pleasure from start to finish. The turnaround time was quick, and the prices were very reasonable, especially considering the high quality of the work. I left feeling like I had brand new clothes! If you want impeccable craftsmanship and personalized service, don't hesitate to visit Hisami's. I'll definitely be returning for all my future tailoring needs. Highly recommended!
