This business accepted my dress to be simply hemmed and taken in below the arms slightly. I made it quite clear that I would need it 10 days from the date I brought it in to the business. Mason, the owner, assured me that it would be no problem. I arrived to pick it up 10 days later and it was not done. He said he would have it ready the next day, which was the same day as the event where it was to be worn. It was ready. The hem was machine stitched and the scarf that was attached to the dress was left off of the dress which made a 3rd trip there to pick it up. $65 and nothing but excuses. No apologies, no adjustment of charges, nothing but excuses. I'll never go there again. read more

I went to stitch two days before a wedding that I was attending because I had lost weight and needed my dress taken in. Mason did not even hesitate to take on the dress when I came in and asked for alterations. He calmly said over the phone that he would have to see the dress and see what needed to be done, and when I went in he said no problem. I went in Wednesday afternoon at 4 PM and he had it for me first thing Friday morning for the wedding! Getting clothing altered is always nerve-wracking for me, especially since I'm tiny and once you take away fabric, it's hard to get back. So I usually just end up doing a makeshift job myself with hidden safety pins. Unfortunately, I couldn't really do that for weddings I had coming up, so I came across Stitch. Stitch is so cute. You walk in and the first thing you see is their platform that's surrounded by a 3-way mirror. It's so bright and inviting inside. Mason is great and really good at what he does. He showed me things on my dress that could definitely use improvement, and he was right. I originally just came in for a hemming and dry cleaning, but he showed me that I probably wouldn't even need to get rid of length on my dress and he offered to steam the dress for me to make it look nice so I wouldn't have to pay extra for the dry cleaning. So impressed with his honesty, his expertise, and his friendliness. Also, don't forget that Stitch has a Yelp discount offer! I rarely write review.. Brought in a wedding dress for alteration. He chalked the dress and then advised of an astronomical price that was more than the dress. It was mermaid cut, simple, with no beads or lace.. I took my dress elsewhere, to find out his method to alter was incorrect and the chalk would.not come out of the material. With limited amount of time to order new, new seamstress did the best they could do with the chalk issue and did a great job on the alteration for a third of the price. I do not doubt the good reviews provided, but I think my scenario was seen as an opportunity to take advantage of me. I'm sure this gentleman and his team do good work on the basic needs, but ask up front the price. read more

Horrible experience I should have left upon entering wasn't greeted but immediately after my entry someone else entered and also was offered something to drink. After seeing what needed to be done to my outfits I was given this ridiculous amount that alterations would cost much much more than I paid for both outfit. Quote me a price as I recall for pant legs $45, sleeves intake $35 mind you these were very inexpensive outfits. My spirt tells me he really didn't want my business upon entering I should have left. I took my wedding dress to Mason after a negative experience with another tailor in town. My wedding had been postponed by a year, the dress didn't fit anymore, and I really wasn't in love with it. Mason completely redid the neckline of my dress, and you would never be able to tell it was an alteration. The neckline is perfect! Originally I was very excited to try this new alteration shop because the reviews were all amazing and the store was clean and professional. He was very kind when I dropped off my two pairs of pants and gave me and estimate of how much it would cost. I came back a week later to pick up my pants because he never gave me a pickup date or called me to let me know when my items were altered. They still were not ready so he told me to come by the next afternoon. When I came to pick up my pants the next afternoon he had them ready but completely changed the price an extra $25. I ended up paying $72 when he originally told me $45. He argued with me at checkout so I will not be returning to get clothes altered gere. read more

I recently yelped this business location and took a chance with several pants of mine. I have to say that Mason is absolutely amazing! I will 100% be bringing more of my clothes which need alterations to him. Mason as well as his team are very meticulous to detail and thorough when it comes to explaining the purpose of making a specific alteration (example: why a no break above, below, or in the middle of the ankle is ideal). Usually the tailors I have gone to, will ask what I want without making recommendations and sometimes very little at that. However, Mason is different in that he does not hesitate to provide valuable input while placing the customer in mind. In fact, he works with you as if he was your very own personal tailor to bring you the best quality alteration as possible! Moreover, before I left, prices as well as what alterations will be made along with why it is made are considered and discussed fairly prior to leaving my clothes with Mason. Hands down, the only place I will go to for alterations in Baton Rouge. Every time I get something altered, I always tell them what I want...but my experience at Stitch with Mason was unlike any other. HE actually showed me areas on my dress that could be improved, in addition to just me getting it hemmed. I took his advice and so glad I did! This was my first time using Stitch. I noticed it on the way home from work one day and it's convenient for me so I stopped by with a pair pants and a dress needing altered. I was welcomed into the store greeted with fresh fragrance of flowers and candles. I love the ambiance and classic upscale decor; I felt very welcomed and I just like feeling appreciated when I go into a business to spend money and I totally felt that here! The seamstress came out to greet me and asked what MY needs were! I thought wow that never happens, but she wanted to make ME happy and I appreciated that very much. A few days later I returned to get my clothes and the staff remembered my name! Talk about feeling special. I tried on my clothes and to my surprise they fit exactly how I needed. Yes, unfortunately due to others in the past I have to try on my clothes before leaving to make sure the alterations were correct and for the first time ever, my alterations were correct!
