Came here for an excursion of my cruise and was pleasantly surprised. We got to go reef diving and also do an encounter with sharks and stingrays. The staff was incredibly friendly and was great easing those who were nervous to swim with the rays and sharks. The encounter was about 4 hours total and I feel like I got my moneys worth. Gear was provided and sanitized and the food provided was yummy as well. Really enjoyed my time here and would absolutely recommend. read more

We booked a tour here through the Carnival Cruise website for a shore excursion. We met with them at the port then took a catamaran out to snorkel. The staff, Fernando, Miguel, and various others, were all a lot of fun and extremely funny. They went over safety rules and how to use our life jackets, snorkels, fins, etc. they showed us hand signals to use to make sure we were okay, or if we needed help. After snorkeling, we got back on the catamaran, and a few of us went to sit on the roof and ride over to stingray beach. The view was amazing. Once we got to the stingray beach area, we put our belongings away and got some water shoes, then went to see the sting rays. They told us about Caribbean sting rays also, and how they feel more coarse like sand compared to the regular sting rays we're used to seeing. After that we took photos. Then we were able to feed them. Make sure you're careful out there. The rocks are uneven and you can lose balance easily if you're not careful. Once we were finished there, we snorkeled in a different area that had sting rays, fish, and sharks. There were two female sharks, and one male shark. We swam around the area for a little while before getting out and going to eat. They had chicken tacos and chips and guac and ceviche. I ended up getting our digital photos also. After that, we took the boat back to port. And they definitely partied it up back in. It was so much fun and I would definitely do it again. read more

This place had the wrong directions on the slip we got after booking online which made us be late. We tried calling the people to let them know that we are going to be 5 minutes late but they didn't pick up the phone. Upon arrival, we were treated in a very condescending manner and treated rudely. The stingray experience was basically just a photo op for them with no phones allowed to take into the water. Photos were several hundred dollars. The snorkeling was a bit more fun, yet it is all enclosed and the fish weren't really active. Better to go on a snorkeling tour to beaches like El Cielo where you can see a lot more wildlife and healthier stingrays without their stings being cut off. read more

Chocolate seaside workshop & wine pairing at Stingray Beach in Cozumel, Mexico was a lot of fun. We learned a lot about the history of Mexican Chocolate, as well as the chocolate candy making process from our host Wendy. We learned how to make chocolate from scratch by grinding the cocoa bean with cinnamon. We slowly added ingredients like vanilla & sugar to make our chocolate go from 100% to 75% chocolate. We tasted 6 different chocolates from sweet white chocolate to dark chocolate. Paired each with white & red wine. We also tasted exotic chocolates with coconut, 4 chiles & with nopal (cactus). The tour was arranged through Celebrity cruise which was so convenient as they picked us up from the pier. It was a 2 hour class. If you are traveling through Cozumel & like Chocolates, I highly recommend it. I rate this experience 4.5. read more

If you're a boring cruise go-er with no snorkeling experiencing this is probably great for you. However, we're avid snorkelers who frequent Cozumel and were not impressed. They wanted us to wait 35 min past our start time because the cruise ship people were that late.. we said absolutely not. So we were able to join another group, but the sharks were all just huddled in a dark corner under seaweed (why not scoop it up with a basket?). Then the fins you're required to wear (for what reason) kicked up all the sand which makes visibility tough. We ended up leaving before the stingray feeding which was just standing in a circle for 30 minutes. read more

When we first got there i was skeptical its on the side of the road in what looks like a downtown area. but the ocean side. The front makes the space seem small but the property is pretty big. They give you a lecture and safety info in the atrium, provide you gear including water shoes and take you out to the rays. We fed them fish and it was pretty cool until the seaguls wanted the leftovers haha. They were a bit much. The interaction time was sooo cool. After they take you on the other side where you can see nurse sharks and more stingrays and snorkel your heart out. I wish we had more time there because i love just being in the ocean, seeing sea life and feeling free. Our guides were pedro and arturo and they were awesome We did buy the cd, a pic and live pics for $80. I had an issue w the live pic and was concerned it was a scam and noone would reply but yulianna in the photo shop was super attentive and helpful and got everything working and that live pic is the best!!! So funny to watch lol. I would absolutely come back here We only found out about this gem through the norwegian excursions but had i found out earlier i would want to book directly through them so they get 100% of the proceeds. While the facility doesn't look like much from the road/sidewalk, the service and experience were fantastic, and the facility is quite nice! My teen daughter and I walked to Stingray Beach from the Punta Langosta cruise terminal. There are clean sidewalks on both sides of the street, so you can stay in the shade and out of traffic. We felt safe, and it was an enjoyable 2.5km walk, but you could also take a taxi. Our guide, Pedro, was fantastic. He ensured that both English-speaking and Spanish-speaking participants could participate and have fun. We started with getting gear and an overview of the experience in an amphitheater. I was impressed with Pedro's ability to guess shoe size. They provided water shoes, flippers, snorkels, masks, and life jackets. There are lockers available for your things for $5 plus a $10 key and lock deposit, but they also provide a mesh bag for towels and other belongings and will store your other bags behind the counter on numbered hooks if you are comfortable with that. The encounter was informative and fun. You feed the rays so that they will come close. You can also hold the rays individually and with your family/group for their pictures. The prices posted for these pictures might seem a bit high, but we got a good deal purchasing all, so be sure to ask about your photos even if you don't think you will buy them. During the encounter, you cannot take photos on your own. The snorkel portion of the activity is in a separate netted area with urchins, rays, and sharks. In this area, you can have waterproof cameras. My only suggestion for the snorkel time is that more time would be allowed. There aren't any reefs or other cool things in this netted area, but you can get quite close to the sharks and swimming rays. We had a blast and would definitely recommend it for the ray experience, but next time will probably opt for an open-water reef snorkel for a wider snorkel experience. read more

Didn't take any photos but this place is sooooooo fun ! You have to come and get in the sting rays. Be careful the directions may lead you to another location near the port of where the drop off from boats from playa del Carmen but it's a mile down near where the car port drop off is. We absolutely loves this shore excursion. Our guide (Edgar) made everything fun and enjoyable with humor and answering all of our questions. We had a large group (overall) and the friendly staff was phenomenal with ensuring we were all prepared and had all the gear necessary for a safe activity. The event started with a short briefing about the activity and the safe handling of the stingrays. Our guide covered everything and told us all that we needed to know. I've never been so informed when starting an activity. It was not rush and was very thorough. After, we all hung around and mingled, took pictures and enjoyed beverages from their small bar. The restaurant didn't seem functioning, but most of us didn't worry about that. read more

Amazing experience! Worth every penny! The staff is amazing here - everyone is so nice, friendly, helpful, and knowledgable. The excursion was outstanding. Even though you experience your encounter in a group it doesn't take away from anything. You get more than enough time to spend touching, feeling, and feeding the Rays. You learn a lot too. The Rays are beautiful. Some are huge and there are little ones too. They seem very friendly and comfortable around people. Just relax - the trainers are there with you the entire time. The snorkeling was awesome as well. There are so many fish, which were also very friendly and swim right up to you. You are allowed a good amount of time snorkeling and you can attempt to go to the bottom and touch a ray if you can catch one. I would recommend this excursion to anyone wanting to try something different. read more

Fernando & Anturo at sting ray beach were very nice and helpful. This excursion was different. If you are not into snorkeling well that is the second part of the excursion so that you can see the other various fish, nurse sharks etc, that are separate from the sting ray. They do provide lockers and or bags for you to put your things you bring. Of course for a fee. They also proved your snorkeling gear, and life jackets if needed. Not gonna lie the sting ray were kind of scary , but they won't hurt you. Just know when's it's feeding time they are ready to eat . Fernando was very thorough in explaining what to expect and many details on the sting ray themselves. It was a real cool experience. They are very good about taking pictures and some video for you to purchase at the end. They had a water trampoline that was pretty cool for the kids. However, the water is about 21 feet deep on that end. The entire excursion is enclosed from the rest of the ocean. The ocean bed where the sting rays were was not even at all there were random drops and holes, which if you don't have good balance on top of the fact waves make you unbalanced you could actually hurt your ankles. So be careful move slow in the water. The water is not that high there but it is high enough to not be able to see the bottom when walking. When the excursion was over there was a hermit crab race each kid got to pick a crab and let it race for a free bag of chips. They also have iguanas and parrots that you can take pictures with. They also have a bar where you can drinks and a few other items and tables with umbrellas and also a massage lady who will massage you and braid your hair if you would like. The massage was actually reasonably priced. I wish I would have gotten one. I strongly advise you wear something on your feet water shoes, swim shoes etc. My friend stepped on some sea urchins which hurt her so bad and it hurt her for hours to actually walk. Santiago really nice guy. He was our guide to get to sting ray beach which is about 5ish minutes away. Santiago was off and after my friend stepped on some sea urchins and couldn't walk for a while he was very helpful and took her son out to the water trampoline before he left. He didn't have to do that since he was off, but he did and we were very grateful, he also took time to take pictures with another family. Super nice guy. read more

The paddle boarding is really good and the instructors take great care in giving you the training to enjoy the ride. If you bring the kids they will enjoy some great water activities. Like touching stingray's and peting parrots & iguanas. The food is kinda pricey. But normal for cruise prices. read more

We were on an excursion from our cruise with Carnival, Magic. We almost missed our window since we waited to long to get off the boat. I really recommend getting in line 45 min. before your excursion time if it's in the morning. We met our host at the dock holding the sign, "Everyone Loves Rays". We then were taken to the taxi area where our guide lined up a taxi for our group. The drive was not far at all. We actually didn't have to get on a boat, since this attraction is right on shore. We arrived at the location and of course had to sign a waiver form. We sat down in a little arena. They took our belongings and put them in net lockers and gave us keys. No camera's where allowed during the interaction part of the excursion, they take pictures for you later that you can purchase all on a CD for a pretty good price. The snorkeling side, we were allowed to take our Go-Pro. I loved the snorkeling side best as we got to swim around with sting rays and dive down if we chose to. We followed another guide around as she fed the Sting-Rays who were eager to eat whatever she had. The area is a large caged in area, you don't have to fear outside fish coming (AKA Sharks) and they ask you to stay away from the fence. The water gets pretty deep. The Ray's are magnificent. I had one come around and bump me several times as if it was actually communicating with me. It was AMAZING. The interaction side was fun as well but in the shallower area. I was just very concerned about the number of people who seemed to fear these creatures. They have their stingers trimmed back and without them, they are harmless. If you can't handle being around things you fear, then please do not do this side. I was worried by the fact that several people couldn't stand when faced with the Ray and nearly fell on them. In the shallow water this is more harmful for the Ray and not you. They are docile creatures. They can't actually attack you, unless you consider a hickey an attack. After our time was up, we were allowed access to fresh water showers, a bar an opportunity to view baby rays and iguanas. If you wanted to stick around you could go back in the snorkel area and swim. Everyone here was wonderful, helpful and very professional. I highly recommend the experience if you are not afraid of marine life. I also recommend going early because that seemed to have the less amount of people to deal with. read more

The sting ray tour was superb. Katea was our host and we began in an open amphitheater. She used a puppet to explain the anatomy of the Rays. She was fun, entertaining, and informative. She explained that they are a sanctuary helping with the conservation and breeding of rays to be returned to the open ocean. We then got to wade into the open ocean where Katea was joined by Fernando. We got to stand among the many rays while Katea continued to inform us about sting ray behavior and Fernando allowed us to touch, hold, and kiss a ray. Lots of photos were taken and were given the opportunity to purchase them on disc at the end of the tour. We finished with a guided snorkel tour with Fernando and Katea. The information presented was excellent. My husband is disabled and is unable to walk without the assistance of a cane. Fernando and Katea assisted him in the ocean and navigating the steps. Their kindness and help went way beyond the obligation of a tour and was greatly appreciated. read more

Took the ferry from Playa del Carmen to Cozumel just to do this. I read such great reviews before coming to this establishment that I had to experience it for myself. Friendly staff, equipment provided (snorkels, mask, fins, life vest, and lockers with keys) With the locker and key you need to put a deposit and it will be refunded when you return the keys at the end of the day. Arturo was my guide and he explained the instructions thoroughly despite having a huge group. He answered everyone's questions and concerns. Snorkeling was the best part of this experience. It's a netted area that has plenty of fish, stingrays, and nurse sharks. I brought my GoPro with me and took videos and pictures. After there was a photographer who took individual and family portraits with the stingrays. We even got to kiss a stingray for what they say is a year of good luck. Overall, it was such a great experience and I highly recommend it to anyone coming to Cozumel. read more

I wanted to go snorkeling while we were in Cozumel and we booked this excursion. I have never been snorkeling before and wanna to get close to some stingrays and sharks. Stingray beach is a great trip the staff were knowledgeable, very friendly and accommodating. The kids that work at the snack bar are thieves. We purchased beers at the bar then they brought us a check saying that we needed to pay and we told them we just did. We later go back to buy a couple more beers and they made us pay for the first round again. We paid $40 for six beers that are supposed to be six for $20. When we told our tour guide he asked the kids and they continued lying and we never were given our money back. I would not recommend this place to anyone which is unfortunate because we enjoyed the sting rays but the way we were treated was absolutely unacceptable. read more

The tour guides (Katea and Fernando) were terrific! They were so informative and patient and made sure everyone could hear and enjoy the experience. Katea explained all about the anatomy of a stingray (complete with puppet) and everything we needed to know to appreciate them and their habitat. It was so fun getting to hold them (and kiss them!). And we got great family pictures with them on a disc for a reasonable price. It was so awesome to enjoy swimming with these majestic creatures and really appreciating everything about them. This a great excursion if you are in Cozumel or Playa Del Carmen! You get to see lots of Sting Rays and are able to hold them (even kiss them if you want.) They also let you snorkel in an area where they have nurse (teethless) sharks, puffer fish, a blue fish like Dory, and other cool animals. The only improvement they could make would be to have better life jackets. read more

Had so much fun here! Our guides, Arturo and Ricardo, were wonderful. Both were very knowledgeable and definitely had a passion for the stingrays. There was another man taking pictures that you could buy at the end, I don't remember his name but he was a delight as well. Each stingray has a name and they seemed to even love their handlers like each one had a relationship with the men working with them.
