The water on the deeper end is so clear and beautiful and I recommend going to the caves on that side as well if you know how to swim. Also bring googles so you can look under the water and see the beautiful clear water and the fish down there.

I think they also had water shoes for purchase if you didn't bring one. It was quite crowded when we got there in the afternoon. They will ask you to rinse your body before getting in. They have an area where you can rinse off. There are several areas where you can swim and some of them are shallower than others where you can just chill and dip your feet in. The crowded area had a cliff where you can jump off from. Lots of people were forming lines to jump. There's also fishes in the water and you can even see by just standing. Overall it was a cool place to check out.

A little hectic when traveling with youngsters, but manageable if you are patient. Many of the resorts will offer you a taxi ride for $17-$20US but in our case could only accommodate 4 persons. Since we were seven people, we opted for the short walk from Barcelo. $10USD for kids and $13USD for adults is a no-brainer- so worth it for the value. Life vests are provided but you MUST bring a good snorkel to get the most out of the park. Half of the beauty of the park is in what lies beneath the water. If you plan on doing any cliff diving while there, make sure to also bring water shoes for the trek up the stairs and along the path. There are several cenotes there an have all their entrances within 100 yards of each other- do your homework- some may be up to a mile walk from the entrance. For us and three kids and two strollers we opted for Cristalino for it's short walk to the cenote and the inexpensive price. If you got burned at the beach and need a day out of the sun, this is also an excellent way to allow time for your skin to heal. You can play in the water and still be able to sit in the shade if you choose. You are, after all in the jungle. If quiet is your thing, come very early- the park fills up by 1 pm. There will also be more opportunities to see the wildlife that abounds. A definite yes for any traveler in the area.

There was a stand where you could buy your ticket and gear, if needed. Snorkels and flippers are a must! The walk through the trees was lovely and there are plenty of benches by the lagoon entrance to put on your gear, take off shoes, etc. We were there in Dec, the water was a bit chilly, but you quickly got used to it. We swam for like an hour and the life jackets made it so easy to rest as needed. I saw so many colorful fish and it was a beautiful, sunny day. I literally felt like alot of the fish I saw were the same ones I see at aquariums sometimes. So cool and such a great day!

We came here with a tour guide around 11am in February, and the water was not only cold, but there were not many fish. When there were fish, it was the same type of fish over and over again. Maybe she just didn't take us to the right places, but I didn't see anything that excited me. I probably wouldn't want to come here again to snorkel. There are probably much better places for it!

He did a very bad job at sharing the ecological (and anthropological) history of the area He did a bad job answering questions... We were rushed through the cave ........ It is a beautiful cave though, especially the part where you walk over the water over the bridge ((but definitely should not be a top 10 National Geographic cave walk!!!..?!!! I have seen much cooler caves!...) The animal park is very fun. They take nice care of the animals and they actually have a great variety. My two-year-old had a great time with the animals. The cenote Was ***extremely busy !...... full of loud obnoxious tour groups who completely ruined the whole vibe There are catfish in the water that do not bite The cenote is small. The water is crystal clear! It is very fun to explore! Bring a mouth piece for the snorkel, as they do not provide those (the thing that enables you to breathe while you are under water) The water is FREEZING cold Even colder than they advertise There are no wet suits We went Thursday at 1 pm for the cave, and 3pm for the cenote, so I was not expecting it to be busy..... The cenote is 10 minutes away from the cave ( you have to drive there) Aktun Chen is about 20 minutes down a dirt road- once you exit the highway, there are signs saying you are heading the right way to the cave/cenote, but I kept doubting myself.. as the dirt road feels very remote Glad I went, but honestly would not go back again... PS- they say no sunscreen to protect the cenote, but allow bug repellent lololol -- do you know how much more toxic bug repellent is than sunscreen?? Hire better staff, and I will feel inclined to give a better review It felt like a cattle corral ..... did not feel genuinely cared for ((or that the staff genuinely cares for the environment!..!.!.!)

The ziplining was 10 ziplines, and the tour guides were fun and allow you to go upside down or 2 people at once on some of them. Make sure to bring money to tip the tour guides! The cave tour was the weakest section but I admit I did learn a bunch of interesting geological sorts of stuff. The cave actually gets a bit muggy and so the cenote was a great way to finish the day and cool off. They have you do a very brief "tour" in the cenote and then we were given about 30 min of free, unsupervised play time there. The water is clear, cool, clean and you adjust very quickly to the temperature. The lighting and colors were MAGICAL and the kids loved swimming amongst catfish. Water shoes were perfect for the whole day. You get a locker at each site. Towels and change of clothes are handy at the end of the day- don't forget those! And keep in mind that getting to the front entrance of Aktun Chen is not the same as getting to the actual reception area - it's ~ 3.5 km down a windy dirt road. Something to consider if you get motion sick easily, or something to consider if you rent a tiny car that might have difficulty on dirt roads.

There were bats living on the ceiling that were adorable and didn't bother the tourists, and there were picnic tables outside to eat your lunch in the sun before or after your visit. The main thing they did not have was a locker system. I recommend bringing a lockbox or some way to store your care keys securely so you don't have to just stash them in a bush somewhere.

I'm not entirely sure one must pay for the guided tour to get in the water and see the turtles. I want to support the local economy, but perhaps there's a trick to enjoying this beach without paying for guided tour, think life jackets, and locker rooms. There is a restaurant on site, and my friend and I just gave a really big tip to the waiter so he would let us leave our bags at the table for 15 minutes while we snorkeled with our own gear to see the turtles. kind of hush hush, we did it very discreetly and quietly and quickly. I attached the screenshot I showed to the taxi driver upon arrival to get us to the restaurant without going through the Disneyland style entrance line and fee. I'm not sure I recommend this method, however, as I can imagine multiple ways this theory could have gone wrong. Side note, perhaps we were off season in late may, but we actually saw no turtles. maybe we should have paid for the guided tour after all.

This is my second visit here and although it was still beautiful, the water wasn't as turquoise and breathtaking as I remember it being the first time I visited. After conducting some research, I do believe that has to do with the time of year of the visits. Regardless, it's still very enjoyable and worth checking out. It's basically a very calm lake. The atmosphere is calm, relaxed, and completely care free no worries vibe. It's the spot to definitely unplug and take in natures pure beauty right in front of your eyes. In the water are hammocks for swinging. An area for overlook. A few huge docks. There's also a few swings in the water. A bar area to purchase beverages and food items. Note, it does cost to get in. I believe it was $18.00 US dollars. You are not allowed to bring in sunscreen, you leave it at the door, and can take it on your way out. You're required to take a shower upon entering. Staff were friendly and explained everything well even with the bit of language barrier. My friend and I enjoyed our time for about two hours and if I come back in February/March 2026, I'd definitely come back for another visit.

Cenote Jugar is 25 meters deep which is awesome. You can jump from two platforms and zip line! There is cave too! There are also so many fish and you could see so much with google on. Life jackets are provided and there is someone r to make sure you are securely strapped when zip-lining. Overall I had such a fun time there! Highly recommend. I think the other Cenotes are pretty good from what the information guide was telling us in the beginning.

Milan was the only good part of this experience and should be commended for his work and…read moreprofessionalism. He did the best he could to make our dive enjoyable. The equipment here is in terrible condition, they rent tanks, rather than servicing and supplying their own, and I had to go through 3 tanks on my first dive to find one that sealed. They do not provide a save-a-dive kit aboard the boat, nor do they even carry simple o-rings to replace the ones on the tanks, despite it being obvious that this is a regular issue. While I had my own wetsuit, no one else in the dive group did, and the ones they provided all had large holes on the shoulders and legs. They did not have enough fins, and tried to give a brand new diver a set of fins that would have surely fallen off the minute he got into the water. I was told that there were *just* enough weights, something that they should have in plentiful supply, but the instructor had to give me two from his own BCD so that I had enough. Worst of all, the pressure gauges did not read correctly, and the incorrect information displayed on the gauge caused me to completely run out of air at depth without warning. Another couple in the group had to share air, on the way to the decompression stop, again because of a false reading on his gauge. The boat captain and crewman did the bare minimum to assist, and seemed bothered by any request to hand items down to you. I have used 2 other dive shops that have show professionalism and customer service that put this location to shame. I will never use any of the ProDive shops based on my experience this trip. Follow up: A representative from Pro Dive reached out to me and said they are working to get new equipment for this location. I also received a full refund for both my dives.

I figured they would have opened the book portion online to review before we got there, but no. When we got there the manager, Coliman, interrupted the girl at the front to tell us that the instructor (who was standing next to us) would not review the material with us all at once that we needed to go off and return when we had answered all the questions. Next, wreck diving was the only reason I chose this dive shop to the Advanced Open Water class. I informed the liason when I made the reservation this. She knew the days I was going to be there. When we got there, it was posted that wreck diving was only on Wednesdays. We arrived on Thursday. The only good part of the class was the instructor Sergio. He was relaxed and helpful. My BCD and equipment had issues but he was trying really hard to help me. I wanted to try to still my own Regulator with their BCD but the manager Coliman said it was a "policy" they could not put my equipment on theirs. I had to pay for their rental. Their equipment was frayed, and regulator dragged. This manager , Coliman, made this vacation dive much harder than it had to be. I was not allowed to take my camera on the dives since it was a class and I missed being able to take pictures of the sea turtles and octopus. We elected to go the Cenotes (fun dive to them) and we had a tech diver instructor, Kim, who was very good, I liked her a lot. She was frank and I liked that about her instructing style. I learned a lot from her. I had to make up a dive since my equipment failed and pay for it. I will not go through this dive shop in the future.
