I placed a "to go " order tonight for 30 wings, xtra xtra xtra crispy, chargrilled with garlic parm sauce. When she said 20 minutes, I absolutely knew they would be a fail! Twenty minutes later I got the wings which were a tad pricey. Drove three minutes home and opened the packages, there was not one hint of chargrilling on any of the wings. They were definitely not xtra xtra xtra crispy,(sorry but I've worked in some crazy busy pizza shops and to make wings that crispy takes at least 30 to 35 minutes to reach that amount of crispness.) Finally, the wings were definitely not coated with any garlic parm seasoning. They were at best plain, fried wings. To say we were extremely disappointed is an understatement. I did call back when I realized they were not chargrilled and they offered to recook a new batch. But I just did not feel like waiting 20 more minutes. We are seniors and we don't like to eat too late at night. The alternative was a $10.00 gift card which is there waiting for me. However, i honestly do not see myself going back for another try. Side note: we normally go to OIP for incredible chargrilled wings but for some strange reason they were closed on this Tuesday evening. Ok, for almost 3 years, we've been testing pizza around CNY, especially the Syracuse area. We tested two more local pizzas in the past couple of weeks - places that are popularly recommended and well known and we're now ready to announce our # 1 favorite: Stingers! thin crispy crust, delicious sauce and perfect cheese and the best seasonings. Served up with a heaping helping of friendliness - the servers are great. *And....the Stingers pizza is less expensive than the others!!*** win win win It's only inched out a bit by O'Scugnizzo (spelled right?) but they are all the way over in Utica. yeah for Stingers! Well after a long time they finally did reach out to me and gave me a $25 gift card even though the pizza that was burnt to a crisp that they gave me originally was $34.25 so they fell short by like almost $10 I did go back and used the $25 gift card for a new $34.25 pizza which actually was very good and not burnt to a crisp this time. read more

This pizza is the best in town!! I'm not kidding I absolutely love the pizza and wings! Every time I go the food is fast and people are great! I went today and they were super busy but my food was ready before it needed to be! It's great pub also! Staff is really nice! Good place to meet new people! Ordered a " just cheese " quesadilla and a few other menu items for an easy dinner after working a double shift . Why is it so hard for counter staff to grasp " just cheese , no onions or peppers or anything else in the quesadilla " ? Got home and this just cheese quesadilla had enough onions & peppers in it to use for toppings on a pizza. Chicken wings were fried way too long.Fries had so much salt seasoning on them .This pub has gone so far down hill. Never going there again. Stingers has some of my favorite pizza in Syracuse. Owned and operated by the same people who own Trappers 1 & 2, they know how to run a pizza joint. They have a good sized bar with a great selection of draft beers (usually rotate a few seasonals/specials) along with the normal favorites (Blue, Yuengling, Bud, etc). The staff have always been extremely friendly and welcoming, which is always appreciated. If you're a fan of trivia, stop in on Wednesday nights - it's a great time! My only complaints about Stingers are the prices, which can be high, and when it gets busy it can be hard to find a spot to sit. Overall, I'm a happy regular. I recommend the spinach and feta pizza or the buffalo chicken pizza - both excellent. read more

Came in on a Saturday with my family for some pizza. Ordered the "game day special" large pizza ($10) wings(less than $10, I couldn't tell since the guy erased the price so fast) and I added mozzarella sticks. As the cashier was ringing it up, the cook came over saying "GAME'S OVER" and hurriedly erasing it. My food came out to just about double the price it would've been. I literally pointed to the specials sign when I ordered. If it was up when I ordered, that's what I should've paid. If the special is only during the game, call it a "game special" not a "game DAY special". Pretty cheap business model they have. Kind of ruined the whole meal. The only "stinging" going on here is them, trying to sting your wallet. Boneless wings were preformed, reconstituted chicken nugget crap. Barely sauced. Pizza wasn't terrible. Crust was thick and "bready" and they go heavy on the oregano. Format is strange as well. You order like a classic pizza parlor but they also have a bar area and the whole thing is set up like a sportsbar. Apparently they're aware of the strange setup since there's a sign directing you on how to obtain your food. At least 'Cuse beat Florida state... Update 1: Management reached out (fairly quick) in an effort to amend the problem. Will update further and change the rating accordingly based on future visit. So far, management seems to care about their diners experience, so that's a plus. read more

I will start this as I always do by saying that I don't give out five stars unless I am really blown away. If you are in Manlius and want to watch a sporting event, have a few drinks and eat some pretty good pizza. Than this is your place. They have drink/food specials during NFL games and Syracuse games. They have the NFL ticket and a lot of tv's that they are will to change so you can see the games you want. Bartenders are usually friendly and attentive. The bar shape is a little odd and makes the middle of the bar hard to sit at but it's not a huge issue. There are plenty of high top tables around good for larger group and a dining area that has a big tv and four smaller tv's that is good for a bigger group. The pizza is good NY style pizza. Sauce is is good crust is good and they offer good number of toppings. The wings have always been good size and pretty meaty. They have a unique style of wing here that I have never seen before that is worth trying. They call it stingers style. They use their own sauce it's like a spicy garlic bbq. I found them to be very tasty and I will go back just for them. I will go back soon you should to. read more

Place always has terrible customer service. Never have I seen them great someone and tell them they will be with them shortly at the register. They literally just ignore you. Watched them answer phones make salads next to the register, etc...nothing. The food is decent, certainly overpriced. It's only main appeal is that it is pretty much the only place nearby. read more

New to the area and my fiancé and I found this restaurant early- awesome pub fare and really great, traditional greasy pizza (the NYC roll it up kind). Burgerdilla is a personal favorite- fiancé loves the stinger wrap and the signature "stinger" sauce. Generous servings and good fries- amazing homemade Reese's and Hershey's cookies for dessert. Delivered from this restaurant and the wait time was horrible. I waited over an hour for the initial order as other people were continue to order and the tablet kept going off. I saw one delivery driver 3 different times with orders As I still waited just for a medium cheese pizza and 10 wings. I was told 3 different times that it was only going to take 15 or 20 minutes additional then be told that it's going to take longer because they're very busy. I would suggest businesses like this to turn off their tablet if they are going to be extremely busy as the delivery drivers only make money when we deliver the order not sit at their restaurant for over an hour. Shame on you for not caring for your delivery drivers that are delivering to your diners. read more

After several more trips to Stingers I am happy to give them 5 stars. Picked up a pizza today and they inadvertently put the wrong toppings on the pizza. The staff noticed their mistake, called me as I was getting close to home, and had already put a new pizza in the oven for us with the correct toppings. They delivered our new pizza, offered for us to keep both, and refused my offer of a tip for the driver. Great customer service and follow up from the staff at Stingers today. read more

I stopped in to grab a beer on a quiet weekday afternoon. What I got instead were fruit flies around my drink, regular flies dive bombing my face and a loudmouth standing by the bar whose every other word consisted of four letters. He was on his cell phone every five minutes, when he wasn't talking at the only other customer in the bar. As I later found out, this clueless jerk was the owner of Stingers! Like this place a lot better than Pavone's-except for the garlic knots, which are good but not as good. You can get a massive slice of pizza for like $2.50 and it's big enough to be a meal of its own, plus they're always very good about substitutions on those slices. Never had a bad meal here and the service is usually pretty good. They're a lot friendlier here than at Pavone's-I find their service to be rude and impolite, unfortunately. Good local sports bar but we ate here yesterday and the pizza was the saltiest I have ever had. Someone must have made a mistake in their measurements. Crust was slightly soggy but not bad. Slow to receive food, but if the food were good I wouldn't mind. While we were sitting in an area, one of the staff came over and put a reserved sign for the room. No one talked to us. We had to go look and see what the other side of the sign said, and then move to another area. Will not return. read more

Two problems with recent visits. First, I ordered wings to go on a Saturday night. I picked up the order, went home, poured a beer and sat down to enjoy my wings and watch a football game. To my horror, the wings were dry, looked like they were just sitting around, not enough sauce on them and I had to throw 2 wings away. I used the contact sheet on the Trappers web page, explaining my ordeal. Never heard from them. I called about a week later, and was told that usually the web site is checked and they apologized for the bad food and said they would send me a gift certificate. Never received anything. Second problem: Went to dinner on a recent Friday night. Ordered some wings (they were okay) and two fish dinners. The wings arrived after about 20 minutes. We finished the wings and waited for the fish dinners. The waitress said someone had changed the order to go so they were sitting on the counter. I asked that they be put on plates. The dinners were transferred to the plates, but there was no cole slaw and the fries were cold. Just a bad experience. The place is very busy and I think that they are going for quantity vs quality. Push as many out the door and some are okay and some are not. I will not be going back to Stingers and will not go to any of the Trappers restaurants in the area. Note: on November 3rd I received a gift certificate in the mail for Stingers. I will give them another try and post my impressions. read more
