Without hesitation Kat said absolutely we will do whatever we can to accommodate you all. Rewind several months back and Kat reached out to me to see how we could collaborate. She wanted to ensure her space was welcoming, inclusive and a space that everyone, especially those in the LGBTQIA2S+ community knew they could come to and feel and be safe and have fun. With pre-planning for our event Kat was down to earth, easy going, personable and did all she could to try and say "yes" to all of our needs. She went out of her way to ensure that all of the kids at our event were safe and that there was space for everyone. If it was not for Kat and her team our event would not have been able to happen, which would have been very challenging for our organization, as our event is what helps financially sustain us throughout the year. My wife and I stopped in last year - it happened to be the Sunday of the Barrel Tasting weekend in March, I think - and had such an enjoyable experience, that we have been itching to return ever since. We were lucky enough to get an appointment on this trip. First off, Richard was an excellent host. He is very friendly and knowledgable. We enjoyed chatting with him very much. Second, we love the wines - so honest, so pure. We tend to prefer wines that are lower in alcohol, not heavily oak-influenced, and that taste of the grape...This winery has been carrying that torch since Joe Swan founded his winery around 50 years ago. Rod Bergland, who's been making the wines for the past 30 years or so, is very respected in the industry for this very reason. Rod happened to be onsite and was gracious enough to spend some time chatting with us. What a treat! Turns out other friends have it on their wishlist as well, so I'm glad for making the stop. The brewery is a quick drive off the highway, in an commercial park area with lots of big shade trees and green lawns. The brewery is beautifully landscaped with big trees, flowers, potted plants, and an outdoor drinking area with umbrella tables which also have warmers for those cooler evenings. On the day of our visit, it was extra hot in the afternoon so we went inside. It has a clean and comfy vibe, with high ceilings, cozy lighting, a clear tap list, and nice tables of different sizes around the bar. At the back is a merchandise area and restrooms. I love their owl theme, great designs and fun items. The beers were also excellent, I tried a few IPAs mostly sticking with favorite hops and one collab that sounded great. The bartender on our visit wasn't friendly or welcoming at all, and was that way with just about everyone else there. Oh well. I still highly recommend checking this place out for the quality of the beer and a great venue to enjoy it in.
