Very friendly bartenders, nothing against the owners, but a handful of creepy staff unfortunately (comments, stares, etc)

Still Life is the best! Had a great time and so glad they were stocked with Happy Dads. Service was great, and I'm excited to go back.

Everyone is super nice and makes you feel right at home. I stopped in for a football game, decked in rival gear and was greeted like family. The bartender went out of his way to make sure I had the most bang for my buck and even hooked me up with some tailgate swag. If you are looking for cosmos and lemontinis this probably isn't the bar for you (even though they'll make 'em). But if you like simplicity with good people and great whiskey definitely stop by, you won't regret it.

Unfortunately, when we returned the bar was quite full and very much focused on the UNC basketball game, so we pulled up to the stools along the window and ordered our drinks. Although room is tight, it was a comfortable and friendly environment, they even had an extensive selection of games, to include many board games. The bartender was an absolute sweetheart and didn't skip a beat. We finally saw a vacancy at the bar continued drinks from there. This great little neighborhood bar makes it easy to sit and meet new people, play a few games and enjoy a few drinks, what more could you ask for? Cheers!

I was at the owners were there so have some time I have a conversation with them and they were super nice and friendly. Let us walk around the entire shop and answer all questions and total some history. It's a college vibe but not an undergrad vibe if that makes any sense. You may see some grass students or whatever the case may be, but you wouldn't find a bunch of 19-year-olds piled up in this kind of spot. It used to be small apparently but they expanded it out to a back room and an attic kind of situation. It seems like a attic kickback kind of spot. Really homish or something you will find in a living room. It made it on the top list of speakeasies on Yelp so I had to check it out while I was in the area. I would 100% recommend.

Walking up to the bar it's a bit hard to find, but look for the wooden sign that says "Belltree" off of Brewer Lane than you've located this bar. Walking into the bar you'll feel like you've walked into a grown up, local, and upscale speakeasy. For my drink I ordered the last word cocktail (house gin, luxardo maraschino, green chartreuse, and lime juice). The drink was excellent and the bartender explained how rare it is to find a bar with green chartreuse as it became a huge staple during the pandemic. Overall this bar was good, and definitely worth checking out for a drink or two.

Found about the bar by word of mouth because most of my friends see me making this weird concoction…read moreat home. I've been drinking kava in the confines of my own home for a little over a year now and I really respect the root and its properties. I was excited to hear that a kava bar was opening in Carrboro, even though it would be a significant drive from Raleigh. I finally made my way out there a couple of weeks ago, and found it to be a real joy. The kava was potent and was of a great age, and a couple of drinks I was in a great place. I drank less than I usually make at home, however that was not a problem as I felt very in tune with my surroundings and quite relaxed. I went with a buddy who I usually drink with, and he agreed that the kava was potent. I believe I talked with the bartender for a couple hours and found out a lot of information about kava and its preparations. Not to mention our conversions were of good nature and depth, unlike many conversations when inebriated with alcohol. Along with drinking kava, I had the joy of drinking Kratom. I always heard about the herb, but made no effort to actively seek it out. I was pleased to see it on the menu, and tried it together with the kava. Most definitely kept my mind clear, not to mention it complemented well, giving the kava almost a boost for some time. Before going to the bar, I looked here for reviews and pictures. I found that the pictures do not do it justice for the openness of the back room and the overall length of the space. The music went well with the atmosphere and I would like to see customers having the ability to change it if they wanted. Just to add that extra customization that will add to the uniqueness of kava. I would also encourage people to bring a group of people and just socialize, and get below the depths of the elevator conversions that life sometimes brings. I would also want to see the bar be able to sell root powders, and become a provider for people who rather drink in the comfort of there own homes ( and for it to be cheaper ). I currently buy my kava from Hawaii, which gets costly with shipping fees, so it would be a real plus to buy so close from a reputable place. However the price of the kava here was a bit steep at the bar, but again, the kava was of the utmost quality. My lack of funds don't bring me around too often, but they do have a rewards program that is generous for users. Overall, a great place to go chill, get away from the fast lane and chill. I will say, when I was done drinking and left the bar, I felt relived and quite refreshed to be back in the "real world". I was in there for a long time :). Give it a try, it will be worth it, at least for the experience. Hope this helped some.

The bartender was extremely helpful since my wife and I had never drank kava or kratom before. He gave us a couple of samples and we chilled out for a bit and bought a couple of beverages. Overall, I'm not sure I'd go out of my way to come here but it was definitely a fun experience and I could probably be convinced to come back.

The place is quite small, with about five tables, and maybe 12 seats at the bar. We sat at the bar as we only wanted drinks and snack. Christian, the bartender, greeted us right away and brought food and drink menus. He explained the specials and took our drink orders. My companion found an interesting Greek white wine, and I asked for a boulevardier, my go-to cocktail for a new place. The wine was to her liking, and the cocktail was about the best example I've had in recent memory. Christian used Woodford Reserve bourbon and Campari rather than Aperol so it had a slightly less bitter taste and was a lovely auburn color. The food menu was very interesting, with lots of items we've never tried. We ordered caesar salad with anchovies, green beans in garlic-soup sauce, panella (a chick-pea and cream cheese dish), and seasoned French fries. It was all yummy and delivered together. The service we got really couldn't have been much better: attentive without hovering. The food and drink quality was outstanding, and we thought the prices were very reasonable for what we got. In short, thanks Christian, and we'll be back.
