People working there are very pleasant, the menu isn't large but has several interesting options. It's an enjoyable environment with good (though overpriced) food.

The place is quite small, with about five tables, and maybe 12 seats at the bar. We sat at the bar as we only wanted drinks and snack. Christian, the bartender, greeted us right away and brought food and drink menus. He explained the specials and took our drink orders. My companion found an interesting Greek white wine, and I asked for a boulevardier, my go-to cocktail for a new place. The wine was to her liking, and the cocktail was about the best example I've had in recent memory. Christian used Woodford Reserve bourbon and Campari rather than Aperol so it had a slightly less bitter taste and was a lovely auburn color. The food menu was very interesting, with lots of items we've never tried. We ordered caesar salad with anchovies, green beans in garlic-soup sauce, panella (a chick-pea and cream cheese dish), and seasoned French fries. It was all yummy and delivered together. The service we got really couldn't have been much better: attentive without hovering. The food and drink quality was outstanding, and we thought the prices were very reasonable for what we got. In short, thanks Christian, and we'll be back.

The sprouts were…read moreespecially memorable with their combination of preserved lemon vinaigrette, fried leeks, bacon, and a sweet/spicy aïoli--an unexpected mix of flavors that worked beautifully together. The ambiance felt fresh and inviting, which I appreciated--especially because there were no lingering bar or leftover food odors that sometimes affect restaurant spaces. The staff was welcoming and pleasant, offering friendly interaction while also giving guests the space to relax and enjoy their meal. It made for a very comfortable, quiet Friday afternoon experience. I could have lingered longer. Overall, a delicious meal and a place I'd happily return to.

The menu prices seemed a tiny bit high until I read the note that the restaurants had raised the menu prices to make gratuity "truly optional," so that's totally fine. We started off our meal with some complimentary bread, which was honestly pretty mediocre. It was a very tiny portion and the accompanying olive oil just tasted like... olive oil. It felt like the bread was store-bought or something, which isn't the end of the world, but combined with the portion size, it was just a little surprising for a nice restaurant. For my entree, I got the steak frites, and they were very good! The steak was cooked medium rare as requested. I also got some truffle aioli on the side (suggested by the food busser!) and it was pretty tasty too. My wife got the beet and kale lasagna and she really enjoyed it, although it wasn't really enough food as an entree :) Beer selection was OK but nothing crazy good. I asked for the non-alcoholic IPA and they were out of it, which was kind of a bummer. Also, when we were paying our bill, the automated system still asked us for a gratuity without any warning about the gratuity being baked into the menu prices, so that was a little surprising but not a huge deal. Overall, I liked Glasshalfull and would definitely consider coming back.

Chapel Hill's iconic college bar, He's Not Here is worth a visit just for the experience of…read moredrinking 32 ounces of beer from their famous Blue Cup -- one of the essential Carolina experiences. No, it's not the cleanest bar in town, but the friendly service, spacious beer garden and energetic vibe are just a few of the reasons this is consistently voted one of the best college bars in America. If you don't like beer or cider, you're not going to find much else on the menu, but for hopheads, it doesn't get much better than this. Upstairs, you'll find more than a dozen beers on tap, including a number of local and NC craft brews (and no, you don't HAVE to order one in a Blue Cup, although it's a great value). There's also a smaller bar on the Beer Garden level, which also has about a dozen picnic tables and a small stage for music (there are shows most weekends). He's Not Here is pretty strict on checking IDs, so don't show up without one, no matter how old you think you look. My only complaint was the $5 weekend cover charge, which seemed a little egregious for a place that just serves beer. But that aside, this is a great spot to meet friends, enjoy some live music and drink a few beers. Just down the alley past YoPo at W Franklin & Columbia, and definitely worth a stop if you're in Chapel Hill.

Sit at a picnic table and have a blast catching up with friends. You never know who's gonna show up. The service is quite perfect... I mean, they know their beer. The best part about it is you can stock up your bar card at home with your very own blue cups.
