I made an appointment in July to purchase a laser package. I made the package purchase. I wasn't treated the same day. The did not ask for an office visit fee. The appointment was on the 15th. 5 months later I am contacted. I have had two treatments, and a balance was never mentioned nor have I received a bill. When calling the office speaking to someone is not an option. It is very difficult to respond to unanswered phone calls, robotic and anonymous text messages sent by a nameless individual. This is so nonprofessional. Then I was texted that if I wanted to speak to someone on the phone, I had to make an appointment. I work as well, and my time is limited. I was sent a coy of a service ledger. I asked did I have to pay for coming to the office and purchasing a package no response. So, it appears that I am being charged an additional office visit fee when I come in for a treatment which is prepaid for. Wasn't the office visit for a 20 min treatment one and the same? This is a first. I have never gone to a dermatologist paid for a treatment and had to pay an additional separate office fee. I was told that they were behind in billing due to the holidays (the 4th of July). The holidays just began. I try to patronize my own and there is always an issue.

(Though they'll break it into 2 visits if you want to spend MORE on copays and more of YOUR time on separate days to make it work sooner - some great deal, huh?!) They've incorrectly entered appt times 6 months out and then when we can't make it at the incorrect time they entered, they're upset we're upset, offer no viable solution (6 months out we can reschedule!), and are generally not apologetic or helpful. Office manager uses the staff's youth and inexperience to justify the poor service, rather than seemingly seeking to improve upon the patient/customer experience or coming up with viable solutions that work for the patient/customer, given the mistake made on their part. We've also had them incorrectly bill us instead of our insurance - a pretty big mistake when one gets a $400 bill because whoops, admin didn't bill properly. Thankfully, we called to argue or else, we'd have been out $400 because they failed to bill correctly. Again, the dr is great. But her admin staff is truly terrible. do not recommend.

When I contacted the front desk, they informed me that they would appeal, and it was a mistake. Since then, I haven't revisited the clinic, but they called me today to schedule another appointment. During the call, they informed me that I had to pay the extra charges they had levied, and if I failed to do so, they threatened to take it to collections. I am not sure if they are trying to scam my health insurance or me, but I won't allow it to happen. good luck and wish you all the best!

NOTE: This review is for the Southfield dermatology practice associated with Dr. Bobbi Edwards…read more It's been credited as "Michigan S.K.I.N Associates" and "Edwards Hair Restoration & Dermatology Group" online. Not terrible, just very average-to-mediocre. This was my second time coming to this office. The first time, in 2012, I saw former Nicole Rataj Casady, PA-C, and she was great! Apparently, she now works at Advanced Dermatology and Cosmetic Surgery, which is a national chain with 120 offices. Now, my second visit was with Reema Sutariya, PA-C, in early 2017. Bottom line: Nicole Rataj Casady is far superior than Reema Sutariya. The owner, Dr. Bobbi Edwards, has never treated me because she's in high demand for appointments, and I didn't want to wait. For my appointment with Reema Sutariya, the assistant asked me to wear a paper gown and strip my clothing from the waist up because that's what this PA-C requires for first-time patients. "Fine, whatever," I thought. Here's the problem: Reema sat down for the duration of the exam and did not look at my body underneath the gown. She did not touch me and kept a nice distance between us the entire time as if I had a contagious condition. Why must I strip if you aren't going to examine or touch me? Now, I came in to address my post-acne dark spots and hyperpigmentation. In the end, she gave me an antibacterial acne prescription I never fulfilled + a strong recommendation to several hundred dollars out-of-pocket for a series of chemical peels for the spots. My acne was already clearing up so the prescription was not a wise choice. She could have a prescription-grade serum for the spots, or something that my insurance would have covered. I should add that Reema made no inquiries or comments about my diet, water intake, product rotation nor did she mention the use of an SPF moisturizer, which is very critical when addressing dark spots. She also offered me some free drugstore samples that weren't tailored toward my skincare needs. Le sigh. By contrast, Nicole gave me a script and a detailed written regimen to follow day and night. She also gave me some SPF moisturizer samples as we had discussed the importance of using SPF. This experience has helped teach me to get over the "seek-dermatology-care-from-people-who-have-skin-like-yours" stance that I've had for a long time. The owner of the facility seems to be a popular Black woman dermatologist who may be more competent than her PA. And that's too bad because I won't be returning.

2 stars = 1 for the aesthetics & 1 for the really attentive nurse staff…read more I made an appointment and waited a month to see Dr. Edwards. I was told they were really booked. I arrive there and I was given the normal paperwork to complete. The office and the building it's in are very nice. Nice decor & magazines available to read. I wasn't a fan of the television playing the transformations of a women after botox (or whatever chemicals she used) to make her face tight. It would have been nice to watch a talk show or the news since it was midday. After waiting 10 minutes I am greeted by a pleasant assistant who takes me to my room & asks me a series of questions to determine why I am there. She has me undress, put on the traditional paper robe & said that the doctor would be in to see me shortly. This is where is goes downhill. I waited almost in an entire hour before Dr. Edwards came in. Mind you I was sitting bare back in a chair with no in room television or magazine to read (besides the Michigan S.K.I.N book filled with articles about skin care and the pricey products that they sale). They did have contemporary music playing, but that didn't help me sitting in the PAPER cover up with my backside out. The doctor comes in and this visit lasted all of 5 minutes maybe. She was dressed in jeans & a sweater!! I have NEVER been to a doctors office (regardless of specialization) where the doctor isn't in traditional doctor's apparel. She suggested a product in her catalog of skin care that was $60. Well I decided to buy it (if it didn't work I would bring it back) and proceeded to checkout. The employee who helped me earlier came back to get it for me. However, I couldn't buy it because they only had 1 key to the cabinet & that employee was gone for the day. Smh at the lack of thought behind only having 1 key. Overall this was a failure: 1. The hour long wait was too long. Especially since I was scheduled as the first patient right after their lunch hour. Who were they seeing if no one else was scheduled? Or was the doctor taking an extended lunch hour? Who knows, but I shouldn't have to wait that long. 2. The doctor did not make me feel welcomed as a new patient & was really short with me especially when I told her I hadn't been to a dermatologist. If you want to keep patients they need to feel valued or that you can help them. 3. Not having the product available when the patient is ready to purchase it. Did you really expect me to come back to buy it later? My time is as valuable as yours. I walked out feeling that I wasted my copay, time off work & I won't be back. I would NOT recommend this place to anybody. NOTE: They do have a massage therapist and some other services, but I'm not going to chance trying them.

Making an appointment is very easy, they have tons of openings and sometimes you can even be seen within the week. Katie is very nice and informative of what is happening. She really listens to your concerns and will provide the best treatment possible. Sometimes they may not work on the first visit but she is always willing to keep trying to provide a solution. While others passed on an issue I was having on my face, she had a hunch something was wrong, cut it off, and sent it to the lab for analysis. It ended up being skin cancer! I will definitely recommend Katie!

I trusted that--but saw little improvement. At my follow-up, she walked that back and said the results were only about 10% better. Dr. Ann then said they never should have promised two-year results and offered to "fix" it at half price using filler that was about to expire. That felt unfair given the original promises. When I asked that it be corrected at no cost, I was shrugged off and told to go write a bad review. I left feeling dismissed and upset.
