We loaded up with snacks and drinks for a roadtrip back to the city and everything was as you would expect. Not only were the cashiers super friendly but one guy working the coffee machines let me have my coffee for free because "the red light is on, the coffee is passed it prime" lol that still tickles me thinking back on it. And to top it off, the coffee was fine! Would definitely come back next time we're in Utica.

I picked up 2 baked goods from their gluten free selection including 2 Gluten Free Old Fashioned Spiced Oatmeal Cookies and Gluten Free Carrot Cake Loaf. While the car was being filled he washed and dried the front and rear windshields. He then checked the oil; he showed us the dip stick, said it was at a safe level (didn't try and sell us an un-needed quart of oil that would over fill crank case causing more problems) and said the oil looked clean. I knew he was truthful because I had just had the oil changed about 2 weeks ago before we began our journey from Ohio to St. John, NB, Canada. This service station is easy to drive to with easy on and off of the New York Through Way at the Utica North/Downtown exit. I highly recommend this service station if you want FULL SERVICE or want to relive a nostolgic part of America's traveling past.

There were 5-6 people behind the counter, all loudly gossiping with each other, but only 2 seemed to be making a drink. As the line grew behind me, there was no attempt to help anyone. When it was finally my turn, the first eye contact was when the screen with tip choices was pivoted to me. Its a shame, as the brewed Columbian coffee I bought was good even though it was not fleshed brewed and sat in a pump thermos. I hope the owner understands how lucky they are that people seek out their business thats on a one way street...but if rude staff makes you feel ignored and like an outsider, Starbucks is much easier to find and be ignored at.

I tasted some and the pistachio flavor comes through nicely. I was really worried at first look because when you have dark colors like some of the flavors have, all you taste is food coloring. This is not the case at Tasty Treat. I don't know how he does it, but there are no overpowering tastes in what I tried. This business is a very unassuming stand alone building in a quaint residential neighborhood, but it is so close to the 90. So, no excuse not to briefly exit the Thruway and get a great cup of ice cream! He offers an array of toppings, but I opted to forego any topping on my cotton candy sundae.
