Had a full septic causing backup in the basement. Called a few places and they couldn't come out for over a week. Stewart's was out within 3 hours and didn't even accept the $75 emergency fee. I used them for a few years. I would call the number for Bateson Septic / Andover and get Stewart Septic. The truck would come and the guy doing the work would be surly and try to get me to buy other services by telling me there were all kinds of problems including claiming there were things in the tank that could not possibly be there. I was afraid to call them each year when I realized he was the only guy coming out here. I finally switched companies and have been so much happier with just straight polite professional service. Stewart's Septic has gone above and beyond!! We have used them a few times for pump services, and always had quality service at a great price. This month we ran into an issue with our septic, and at 7:30 at night I found myself calling for an emergency service. The answering service was great and ensured I would get a call back right away. Sure enough, with in about 5 minutes, Mike called me back and was assessing the situation. He was great, going over things with me and trying to troubleshoot our issue. When we couldn't find a fix quickly, he got in his car and came right over. Sure enough, we had a minor issue that was quickly resolved with his help. He was great with my husband and I, giving us a few pointers, as we are not that savvy with septics! He was pleasant, personable, and most of all kept our best interests in mind. He could have come out upon request, and did an emergency pump, charging us hundreds of dollars, when it wasn't necessary. But he was up front and said, he would never want to charge us for something we didn't need! He dropped everything from his evening to help out a few naive home owners, and refused to take a dime when all was said and done! His words, "I want just our customers to keep coming back!" Now days, you rarely find people who are ethical, kind, and put the customer first. Most people are always out to make an extra buck. However, Stewarts Septic knows what customer service is all about! And that's why we will never go anywhere else, and I'll recommend them to everyone I know! read more

Excellent experience with this business: punctual, professional, and excellent at communicating with homeowners. We called for a Title 5 inspection and expected delay because real estate sales are brisk. Was delighted that the appointment was scheduled for one week later. The crew was punctual, arriving when they said they would, and got the work done with minimal disruption to my yard. If I hadn't seen where they dug, I would never have known that anything had been done. I needed a repair and it was scheduled for one week later. The city inspector viewed the work and the faulty part and asked for an explanation of the work that was done. The crew was ver professional and explained. They put my yard back together and I only had to do some minor raking and reseeding of a small area. Within the next week I received the certification and full report. Excellent service and professional staff. We had a broken line from the septic tank to the leach field, broken distribution box, a bad baffle and sludge in the leach field lines. They came out immediately and were very professional. The only issue was that their schedule for repair was very busy so they had to pump one in between to get us through. They offered a significant discount for that service because of their schedule. I'm very happy with the way they handled everything and they showed me exactly what they were doing and why. read more

I had the alarm on my septic pump chamber go off in the middle of Saturday night. After talking with Stewart Septic Service with the symptoms they concluded that we had time before the situation was critical and they didn't need to send a pump truck out as an emergency call - saving me money! When their technician came out I was prepared to need a new pump, they found it was just a failed float switch which they replaced and then tested the pump. The technician said the pump was in good shape and didn't need replacement. They did everything they could to address my problem while seeing to it that I didn't spend any more money than absolutely necessary, this kind of honesty and integrity is rare in business. They have earned ALL of my future business and I will recommend them to anyone needing service. read more

Do NOT use Stewart Septic. I called 2 weeks prior to arrange a first time septic pumping; we discussed that it would need to be uncovered and that I could get a property plan from Town Hall to locate the tank. They send out crews from 8-12pm or from 12-4pm. I cancelled afternoon work for the 12-4pm session and requested a half hour advance call to alert me when they were on their way. I confirmed this on the day of their arrival. By 3:45pm, I had not heard from anybody so I called the office; they contacted dispatch who said that somebody would be there shortly and before 4pm. At 4:45pm, nobody had arrived and it was dark outside. I called the office which was closed and reached the oncall operator who contacted the driver. At 5:10pm, a driver arrived and noted that it was too dark to see where anything was and that the map I had was too small to read. He said that he wouldn't be able to pump the tank and that I could call the office to reschedule. I contacted the office the next business day and they stated that they could give me a $10 discount for the delay. I reminded them that I cancelled work and waited for 5 hours for somebody to arrive only after I called the office 3 times that day. Their customer service is nonexistent and there is no incentive for me to rebook them. read more
