And when you're really overdue for a cleaning, those horror stories have a way causing unnecessary anxiety. So, I went to my trusty Yelp app to search for a local dentist and found Pyramid Family Dental. After reading the reviews, I decided to suck it up and give them a try. My first visit included xrays, pictures, and a comprehensive dental plan. I knew what to expect and what the cost would be. Everyone was SO NICE. No judgment, no sarcasm, no rudeness. Just a nice group of people that thank you for choosing them and then do everything they can to make you comfortable. I have now been to Pyramid Family Dental four times and it's safe to say that their kindness and professionalism isn't a fluke. They are just awesome! What really solidified the 5 stars is what I DON'T hear them do. Let me explain - there are so many establishments that don't realize that their patrons can hear what is happening at the desk. So every comment or remark they may utter about a customer can many times be heard by a separate customer. While in one of the rooms, I can hear almost everything that the front desk staff is saying and I have never heard anything unbecoming. So what was it my insurance is gonna take forever for her to verify or is it I don't have an appointment? At that point I saw what this was and I left. I did follow up by calling the customer service line to see what happened...I was just being hung up on when the person on the other end found out my insurance wasn't medicaid and it was good insurance through my employer...when I finally got ahold of someone who didn't hang up I found out that I did have an appointment but now they're saying it was at 8 am and then it went from Monday at 8 to the 12th at 9 all in the same conversation. Very shady. If you have your own private insurance and it's not through the state I would suggest going to a private dentist or some thing that has better reviews that isn't conveniently close to your house. I have really good insurance and could go anywhere I only tried to be seen here because it's two minutes from my house and I could get in right away....what a mistake. I feel like they are running an identity theft ring there. Something is really wrong with that place!
