While in town for the weekend, my manicure from my usual place at home from the previous week did not hold up well. I found Steve's Spa via Google and called for an appointment. He told me to come in and they would take care of me. And that they did!! I was amazed with ALL of the color choices. And not just basic colors, but mermaid, marbled and cats eye. I usually do basic red. I tried black last week and liked it and was going to do it again until I saw the cats eye colors. Love, love, love the cats eye color I did and have ZERO regrets going out of my comfort zone. Everyone was so friendly. This was one of the BEST manicures I have had. My pedicure came with a paraffin wax treatment. The woman placed my foot into the wax and it was far too hot. It immediately started to burn the sole of my foot. After asking that the wax be removed so I could assess my injury, Steve (owner) immediately started to deny the severity and refused to take any accountability for his employees negligence. He harassed me for payment on my way out the door. I went straight to Rapid Care in Lakeport and received treatment for burns to the bottom of my foot. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place at all costs, or it just might cost you more than what you were asking for. read more

I've gone there many times. I asked when they cut my toenails, please file across the top for smoothness. The owner didn't say anything to Lynn. She continued to file my skin, not nail. Very rough treatment and seemed unconcerned that I kept jumping. Last pedicure, the lady kept digging into my calfs with her gel nails. BEWARE!!!!!! I got TWO toe nail infections from this place. While I was there, a woman was complaining that her toenail split because of the way they cut her nails. Steve cut my cuticles wrong, nipped me twice, made me bleed and said "ouch, I know, I know." after he did it. He then proceeded to pick up dog treats with his bare hands and feed, pet and play with his dog all while giving me a pedicure. Never washed his hands or used gloves. Ew, gross first of all, and second, I'm allergic to dogs! Third, I was there for about 10-15 minutes longer than I needed to because he was messing around with his daughter's dog he was babysitting. They have improper cleaning procedures and don't clean their tools before or after each use. They also don't use brand new packaged files for each client like I'm used to at other places. I watched Steve pick other people's nails and old polish off a tool he then used on me. He also used a nail file that was so used it was smooth. Weird and uncomfortable atmosphere. There were girls in booty shorts in the back just hanging out, waiting to give massages? Felt inappropriate. I went out of state on vacation and got a full set and pedicure the day before I left. While on vacation, the next day, my toe was infected where he cut my cuticle wrong. Then, less than a week I got another toe infection, had an unsightly bloody cuticle, and my gel polish chipped to hell. It peeled right off my whole toe and fingernails! I have NEVER had that happen, let alone so quickly on a fresh set of nails, and toes!! I had to go and get my nails fixed on vacation, and while at the salon, the woman told me NEVER to go back to wherever I went before her! She said he put WAY too many layers on my nail, it was so thick, and the shape was bad and he uses cheap polish. They were nice enough people, besides the owner correcting me and laughing at me when I mentioned a style of nail I wanted, but got the name slightly wrong. Felt condescending and belittling. Also, I had to listen to his drama, phone calls taken on speaker phone, and complaining about business problems. Totally unprofessional and uncomfortable. Wow, how embarrassing. I wasn't going to sign up for yelp and do all of this but I felt the need to warn people. I'll never go there again, even if they offered me free services. read more

I dropped in for a pedicure on a Friday afternoon. I had actually expected that I would have to make an appointment for a following day, but even though they were busy they fitted me in. The technician was very good and listened to my request. I have sensitive feet and asked that she not pushed the cuticles, so she used a nice brush instead. A quiet and calm atmosphere -- no television blaring in the background like so many other places. Nice chair massage during the pedicure. I was pleased to see that they were careful about cleanliness and that they followed all of our state regulations. (So many places fail in that.). It was my first time here and everybody was so nice and they did a fantastic job on my toenails.

Been here twice for a pedicure. First time I didn't want the gel polish, girl painted my toes with gel polish anyway and it all came off in with-in an hour. 2nd time was a gentleman, I got the total package to treat myself. Didn't bother to do my cuticles, ingrown toe nails or clean my nails. By the time all was said and down he was too busy watching the little girl that came into the salon towards the end of the pedicure. All in all not impressed. What a wonderful place this is! My husband and I met here to get pedicures together. They take walk ins and also appointments. My friend recommended this place so I drove from across the lake just to try it out. I haven't been happy with any nail places my side of the lake so Steve's Spa it is, and will be my new go to. Prices were decent, and I opted for a gel manicure as well. It's been a week and polish is still looking ok. They are currently expanding so construction was going on, and what one perk they are offering that no others ar is complimentary soda, beer, or champagne. NO STARS My sister had called in to see how much a pedicure would be for 2 people over the phone she got told $55 each once we showed up I was sat down first and then I got asked to pick my pedicure and I picked the $35 one thinking that's included with the price thinking the remaining price was the rest for the nail polish and stuff right ? No after I picked the one I wanted they then said the price would $90!? I sat there very confused once my sister showed up and talk to the man working there he then answered her with attitude saying she was in the wrong for not being more specific. Not just that after the lady who was doing my toes was told it was only going to be 55 after all she seemed to not what to do them anymore , the way she "cleaned up " my toes was BS . I was sitting there watching the girl who was doing my sisters toes and she actually got what she paid for . And then for me I feel like I got my toe nails painted and that's it . Oh yeah and I got multiple cuts on my toes. 3 days later the whole nail polish just peels off a couple of them . I wear sandals a lot so I'm very upset that they didn't even last me a week . Same thing with my sister her whole nail polish just peeled off . Then after we all finished they decided to give us a punch card for us to return but I WILL NEVER GO BACK THERE . I don't think the price and poor gel nail job is worth more than two stars and possibly should have been one star. The people are nice enough but the 'deluxe' gel manicure was nothing better and actually worse than what I normally would get at a standard nail salon. The gels started lifting after just 4 days without me doing any type of submerging of my hands in water or gardening. When I was washing my hair in the shower today the gels kept getting caught in my hair where they are lifting up. I was able to peel most of them off in one large piece. Almost like fake press on nails. TERRIBLE! Now my nails underneath are ruined for months. Also, the 'aromatherapy soak' is not what you'd think. They pour powdered coloring into the tub with very little if any smell. I will not be back as they are way overpriced for a poor service. read more

Yesterday I went to Steve Spa for the first Time, I literally just moved into town and I start school tomorrow so I wanted to have a fresh set of acrylics. When I went inside I truly love the place and how they decorated how it had so much light, when the nail stylist was doing my nails I had a feeling that it was too clumpy too bumpy too thick on the side, and it was and I'm not the type of person that wouldn't like say anything because I don't want them to get in trouble or whatever. When the nails out I was done with my nails it was $50 in total but then she gave me a 10% off which was $45 Plus tip. I didn't like my set at all I hate it so much. The next day when the manager of Steve spa texted me he said come back to the salon so I can fix your nails to make them look beautiful and that I will do it for free, so I went back to the salon I gave them a chance to do them and I asked for the shape of almond in the color of clear pink when he finished doing my set I told him that I like it. Wish I could give zero stars. I went with my mom and sister for a spa day. My sister just wanted to be involved so got her nails painted one color and they forced her to get gel. The girl did a horrible job and has no care for my sister. All her nails look horrible! She didn't put top coat on the whole nail so it looks wrinkly. She was too worried on doing her own nails. Then my mom got a pedicure and she picked the $40 bundle and told the last multiple times and she agreed but still ended up doing the $55 bundle. She also painted on her skin a lot. Finally for me when I called I asked how much it would be for and acrylic set over the phone and they told me $45 which is fine. After the tips were on and acrylic was laid she tells me it's going to be $60 when I only wanted pink and a glitter nothing extra or fancy. As she says this a guy says no $55 and she kept wanting to change the price and it still was over the original price. She didn't even do a good job. And was super rough!! read more

I decided to give this place a second change after 2 years of not going after a bad experience. I got there at 6 and I didn't realize they closed at 7 but they said could accommodate me. I chose the spa pedicure which is a $40 treatment, the lady rushed through everything. If I'm paying $40 the top price, you'd think you'd get a massage something, that didn't happen. Maybe 3 minutes of the paraffin wax, no drink offered like usual. And $30 for a gel manicure that was rushed too. Paint in my cuticles and just poor paint job. So disappointing yet again , $70 dollars for two treatments that were half assed and rushed through. Don't recommend this place. Lesson learned read more

I am overall disappointed to see Steve's spa, I am a regular customer that comes in frequently to get long nails that I normally pay about 75 dollars for, this nail set was the most rushed applications I've ever had. These nails we more expensive than I would normally pay. The design stickers aren't put on correctly, there is nail file shavings stuck to my nails on top of the black so it looks cloudy and dirty. Overall I'm very sad that I being a consistent costumer would be treated better. read more

I hate to even leave a review because i've given this place so many chances. They were great at first but now the customer service and the services provided have gone down hill. It seems they will take anyone for an appointment but not honor that when you show up. I made an appt yesterday for my nails at 5:15 and 5:25 rolls around and Steve tells me there's one more person in front of me. I declined and said I don't have time to wait that's why I scheduled an appointment. He asked the other girl to wait so he could do my nails (appointments should always come first regardless?) But the girl was so sweet and said okay. Steve rushed doing my nails as quickly as possible and it shows in the pictures i'll post below. I've had 3 different people so far point out how weird my nails look and it hasn't even been 24 hours since i've had them done. Getting your nails done isn't cheap either! It has been a long time since I had a mani-pedi, and glad I joined my wife for this one. Steve's wife Wendy did a superior job on my feet, and strong hands gave me a wonderful foot and calf massage. Steve's daughter, a college student during the week took care of my manicure and was also very good at the job, meticulously cutting and cleaning my nails, a wonderfully expedient and thoughtful team. The establishment was clean, the refreshments were nice, and the service was well worth the cost. I have traveled all over Asia, the Middle East, central and South America , and Canada and make a point to get at least one Mani-Pedi on any trip, as they are usually much cheaper and can be good quality. Steve's is right up there with best I've had and a great value for the service. My wife had Julie and she's been to Steves a few times and says this was the best so far! My friend and I made an appointment for 4:45, I was getting my nail color changed and a pedicure. My friend was getting a full set. When I got there I did get right into the chair for my nails. My friend waited for hers. After he tried doing someone else's nails before hers. (someone that didn't have an appointment before us). After my nails I sat in the pedicure chair with my feet in the water for an hour and 30 minutes while multiple other people that walked in after me got their feet/hands done. There was probably 6 people working and nobody was even close to being done so they can start mine next. It was about 645 by now. I got up and said i'll pay for my nails. He said "2 more minutes" I said no. I've been waiting since 5:15 in that chair. Oh, and both of our nails look like sh** with acrylic all over our fingers, paint smeared and all horribly shaped.
