BUT, the store was wonderful and had so many healthy foods and supplements to offer. They also have a great selection of books to aid one in their quest for a healthy life. Then I found the peanut and almond butter samples! OH MY GOODNESS! I have never tasted nut butters as good as this. I am so glad I bought some and wish I could get this quality in Northern California where I live. It is great just eating it off a spoon, but I plan to eat it with celery and apples too. Crunchy goodness! Their fresh produce looked wonderful. I'm sure that is even better in summer. I bought Blackstrap molasses - a very large jar - for about $2.50. This is a great source of flavor and a natural source of iron and other minerals. I highly recommend this store, particularly if you're health minded. They've been in business for 50 years. The Amish ladies that were staffing the store were very cordial. If you go, they only accept cash and checks. My check was from out of state and my ID was not requested - only my phone number. I'll be back in this area in July and will definitely stop in to check out the produce and to replenish my nut butter supply.

I am currently on the search for the BEST Cuban sandwich(es) in Lancaster area and I have to admit…read morethis unassuming corner store is a top contender so far. This Dominican run store offers a menu of various different sandwiches available on either a roll or as a sub. I have driven past this store numerous times but tried them one day as I happened to be in the neighborhood for work. The exterior of the store adorns colorful photos of different sandwiches and a Cuban sandwich marks the front door. You can find various snacks and drinks here as well as some basic groceries but the real reason to go is for the sandwiches. I have yet to try any of their sandwiches other than their Cuban however I have seen sandwiches that other customers have ordered and they look appetizing. Although I get tempted to try something else I keep getting drawn back to the Cuban. At $7.00 it is sizeable, delicious, and recommended. There is another small store with the same name on Woodward St. but they claim no affiliation with this location. Ironically, they both feature the same menu, same prices, and even made by the same printer. Beware when you order though if you do not speak Spanish. Usually there is one of three women manning the counter and each has varying levels of comprehension of English. One of them has gotten my order right everytime. Another got my order right but when I asked questions she had to have one of the men communicate with me. The third excluded items from my order. The second two women do not know what a traditional Cuban sandwich consists of and will ask you if you want lettuce, onion, tomato, salt, pepper, oregano, and even oil and vinegar as if they have memorized a script for taking orders for Italian subs. They even ask if you want it "toasty", meaning pressed, which of course you do...it's a Cuban sandwich!!! You may want to double check your order with the guy making the sandwiches to ensure accuracy and to receive what you ordered. Beware how you pay as well. If you pay cash your bill will total $7.00 but if you pay with debit card you will receive an unannounced additional charge. There is no signage indicating this and you will not be informed about it when paying. If you ask at least two of the women they will speak Spanish to one of the men who will then have to explain it to you. Overall, the Cuban sandwich is great. It is filling, proportioned well, and priced nicely. Their other sandwiches look good and fall in line with prices and size. If you get the Cuban, a nice compliment are the Raylicious brand garlic plantain chips they sell there. My rating is based on the Cuban sandwich but I can only imagine their other sandwiches are good too. One day I will override my inclination toward the Cuban and get something else but what will most likely happen is I will order a sub and also order a Cuban as backup.

Their business would increase enormously if they would simply change their hours, but then maybe they don't care.

A lot to see and do with the kids and overall a great family friendly atmosphere that's safe and has a little something for everyone , young and old . They have the coolest market with a lot of local produce, baked goods, jams, and fruit butters. A bulk candy section and fair prices. The model toy train is so cute and is a bonus for kids of all ages to watch. It goes around the track at the top of the store and also runs through a track in their sit down restaurant. I will say we decided to eat dinner there and we had the salad bar, and sandwiches. Salad bar had fresh options and delicious soups that tasted homemade. My only disappointment was, Sadly, the eggs in the sandwiches we ordered tasted premade and reheated, not made to order scrambled eggs and they tasted like they could have been powdered? Overall though, it was a nice time. The restaurant is also family friendly and accessible for those with disabilities that may require a wheelchair. The staff seemed friendly and our service was very good. Not a long wait time. Overall it's a wonderful establishment and the market is incredibly loaded to the rafters with goodies sure to please everyone. The Ice cream for dessert was delicious too. I would recommend Oregon Dairy. Not just for the great market and gift shop, but it's a cool place to bring the kids with an outdoor playground area and different seasonal activities.
