I used to live down the street from Steve's Express Automotive. Years ago, my brakes were making funny squealing noises, so I went to Steve's to get them replaced. They did an inspection and told me my brakes pads were actually still very good and that the noises were probably due to debris/dirt. They cleaned it up and handed my car back to me. I asked how much for the inspection, and they said "no charge." They really earned my respect for their honesty and quality of work. When my brakes finally wore down, I got them replaced at Steve's for a good price. I also had my major service done here, and my car is still humming along great at 150,000 miles. It's no wonder this placed is always packed with loyal customers. Make sure you arrive early to drop off your car, because they don't make appointments (from what I remember). Never again. I recently took my car to Steve's to identify and fix a burning rubber smell which was coming from my engine; due to all the good reviews, I decided to get a tune-up and some other light maintenance as well. $250 later, not only could they not identify the smell (they said it wasn't there, even though all passengers in my car can smell it...), but my engine runs rougher, and i get worse gas mileage than before the tune up. When I mentioned going there to a relative, they told me of similar poor work Steve's had done, by installing items in the engine incorrectly. If you have routine maintenance, be wary; if you need major work, go elsewhere. read more

These guys are awesome! They were able to troubleshoot my problem, fixed it for me instead of "throwing parts" at the problem and then wouldnt even accept payment for their labor! Art, Johnny and Andy were extremely helpful in service, suggestions had a large knowledge base. Steve's Express Automotive demonstrated their honesty. Brought in 2006 Toyota Sienna Minivan to replace broken alternator/AC compressor drive belt with 111K speedometer miles. Authorized Art to replace timing belt & water pump while car in shop. I remembered leaking water pump replaced some time ago but forgot timing belt also replaced. Art notified me that sticker found showed timing belt had been replaced at 85K and was not proceeding as authorized without my approval. Stopped at Steve's last week have them check out an engine warning light on my Volvo. They promptly did a diagnostic test and it turned out to be a warranty situation. Told me to take it to the dealership. When I offered to pay for their services I was told there would be no charge. Needless to say I was surprised and most appreciative. Great customer service. I have been a loyal customer since I was 16 now 33 and my family before I could drive. I have known them as family such as the owner Steve, Mike (who sadly passed away from a certain cancer in the early 2000's) Johnny (now at a car dealership) to Art. They fairly price their service and don't BS you on it either like typical places would. What would make this place unique in my opinion and my mother suggested have them linked to UBER and when a customer leaves their car for them to do which will take time, they pick up the UBER tab to take you home. I only took off a star cause they didnt end up fixing my trunk.. at firsts I went there because Firestones said there was something wrong with my struts and that they were old and needed to be replaced. They told me that each strut would cost $300.. not sure if that includes labor services or not but it would be a total of over $1000 to fix my two struts. Anyways, my friend who is a mechanic in canada told me that's ridiculous and that each strut should cost less than $80. So I yelped around and found Steve's Express. The service was good, they were definitely honest with me and polite. Didn't feel like they wanted anything from me you know? Felt like they had my best interest at heart. They told me there's nothing wrong with my car basically, and the clunkety clunk clunk noise whenever i pass over a speed bump was because my bumper was loose but it would do no harm to my car. I don't know much about cars but Im starting to wonder whether I should've just asked them if they could've fixed my bumper. I was definitely acting impatient and paranoid (I have this paper due okay.. im a student and I get anxious when I don't have things done. IN fact i shouldnt even be here writing a review.. I should be working on my paper) Umm.. They did offer me a ride home if they needed to fix my struts (which could take up to 4 hours) , so that was nice of them. read more

We've all been there. That dreaded moment when your cars check engine light pops up at the least suspecting and inconvenient moment. I was traveling to work this morning and out of no where my car started acting funny. Naturally, moments later, BLAM!! Check engine light. Unlike most, I was fortunate enough to get it back home to asses the situation. After gathering my thoughts I immediately jumped on Yelp to see what mechanics were available in the area. Scanning through the reviews, Steves Express popped up and to my surprise, it seemed as if everyone had nothing but positive things to say. Sooo, I figured, what the heck. Would give them a try. At the very least I figured I could just get a diagnostics and keep it moving. Well...once again, to my surprise, I got much more than that. If I could give Steve's 10 stars I would happily do so. Upon my arrival, Art was kind, informative and honest. Not only did he not charge me a cent for the typical diagnostics fee most shops charge, but he wouldn't even touch my car any further because he felt the job would be better suited for my dealership. Wow. Most places would have just ran a quote and pushed for their services. He even provided me the codes that spat out so I could pass the information along. Although my car is in the shop now at the dealers, its really refreshing to come across a place that has integrity. I've dealt with a few shady business' in my past and I can assure anyone in need of services that this place is anything but that. Good people for sure as I can see why this place is packed. My '05 Honda Accord overheated and then threw a check engine light. I called Steve's Express after seeing the good reviews here, and decided to take my car to them. Art had my car checked out after a few hours and turned out to be a simple bad radiator cap issue. Art was very professional and even arranged for a ride back for me when I dropped off the car. Great service and price was surprisingly very reasonable. Car is running great for now. I'll have to watch it over the next few days closely as hopefully it hasn't sustained any engine damage due to the earlier overheating.
