APG Electric

We called George and his team to review some prior electrical work and replace our old Zinsco (sp*)…read morepanel. APG came highly recommended from another electrician I'd known and they were up to the task! They were honest, fair, and always on time. It's getting harder and harder to find reliable contractors in the trades and APG is a shining star. Clean, professional work at honest prices, by people you can trust. Would highly recommend!

I was quoted a $790 permit fee by George from APG Electric. He claimed that the fee covered logistics, site schematics, and electric plans. He mentioned that if I want to cut cost, we could explore pulling the permit myself. Wanting to explore that option- I did my homework and learned that in addition to the $178 permit fee I also need some techinical paperwork to submit. I asked George about possibly getting the technical paperwork from them; he declined. He also mentioned that I am probably better off working with a different installer. Before I even had the chance to respond or discuss further, I got a notification from Qmerit telling me my project has been reassigned. I find this extremely unprofessional. I was simply exploring reasonable ways to lower my cost- something that George himself suggested. Instead of working with me, APG Electric backed out without a warning, leaving me to start over. I added a couple of more stars to acknowledge the effort George put into the project (i.e. load calculations), which didn't go unnoticed; I do believe George approached the work with good intent. I could not bring myself to go above 3 stars as the delay on my project (due to reassignment initiated by APG Electric) has caused quite a bit of added stress. TL;DR: APG Electric assessed my EV charger install through Qmerit and quoted a $790 permit fee. When I explored pulling the permit myself to save money (as they suggested), they reassigned my project without notice. Totally unprofessional and dismissive.

We started working with Mike and his crew in the Fall of 2013 on a house in Bodega Bay…read more The house had a detached two car garage and needed a lot of work to address termite damage and general wear and tear. Mike and his crew did all of the following for us: 1. Repaired all damaged areas of the exterior on both the garage and the house. 2. Replaced all external door hardware and two external doors. 3. Painted both structures. 4. installed a french drainage system 5. Replaced a retaining wall and designed a new pergola entrance. His crew also helped with clearing out years of collected debris under the structures and on the property. Throughout the process Mike was in constant communication with us. He kept us informed of progress with emails and photos of the work as it was being completed. He and his team showed a great deal of pride in the work they were doing. They did fantastic work and neighbors constantly stop as they drive by to comment on how great everything looks. if you want a reliable and honest contractor that really cares about doing things right , Mike Stokes is the guy to call. Here is a link to his YouTube site with a video about the pergola he built for us. http://youtu.be/m6SsOmesNV8
