I have worked with Pete Popa at Legacy Decks and Fence for over 15 years and on several properties…read more Pete is dependable and honest. Most importantly, he stands behind his work. He has built three different types of decks on my current property and all of them are of top quality and built to last. The first deck Pete built for me was to replace a cedar deck attached to my home. He used Brazilian Hardwood, or IPE, because of its durability and low maintenance qualities. The picture is current of a deck that was built 14 years ago. The second deck he built was around my Koi pond and we chose Trex decking to go over existing structure. This deck is 13 years old and as attractive as the day it was built. The third deck he built was a few months ago. The deck it replaced was cedar and I wanted to replicate what was there because it lasted so well. Pete used pressure treated beams stringers. Any cuts in the wood was painted with a protective treatment that is necessary when such wood is cut and the raw wood is exposed. The cedar boards were stained on all sides prior to being laid into place. I expect this deck to last for thirty years. Pete is also excellent with fence replacement. My pressure treated wood deck was replaced with a metal fence over 14 years ago and still looks new. No problems with posts or material to date. Lastly, Pete built a retaining wall at the edge of my property. It was built to be maintained and corrected, should the ground shift and require adjustments. The crew at Legacy Decks and fence are very easy to deal with and Pete ensures that all work is up to his standards. I can't speak highly enough about the quality of the work. And the test of time has proven the durability to me.

We have a mid-century modern house with a raised back patio roughly 35 x 15 that had an original corrugated aluminum cover. The project presented many design problems Justin overcame- we wanted a specific style, edge supports only, the cement wasn't in pristine condition, cable railing, the old cover itself was difficult to remove. Justin handled it all and made it look easy. We gave him photo references and discussed the design, and he came back with a look we loved, at a competitive price and timeline. During the process, he included us with decisions along the way, answered questions easily, and generally made us feel like we were all on the same team. We noted his precision throughout- as someone with OCD it was awesome to see such careful work. The result was better than we hoped! Not timeline or budgetary overruns. We can't wait to work with Justin again.
