Advance Auto Parts recently opened, and I surprised to see two somewhat-poor reviews about it…read more I stopped in here since I was out this way and looking for an ice scraper and a de-icer (is that even what you call it) for car doors when they freeze in the winter, since I came here right before the unexpected snow storm in March (while I was patiently hoping spring was on the way and winter was to the wind!). Either way, I thought it would be more likely they would have what I'm looking for, for a cheaper price than CVS or Walgreens, so I decided to stop. Before continuing, I should state that I'm very opposed to blatantly watching people do things that are not by policy. This specific store has MANY signs with large letters asking people to NOT do ANY mechanical work on their property.... so please, DO NOT. It's not something much of them to ask. Of course when I show up the two people sitting in the front two parking spaces both have their hoods open and doing something that wasn't allowed! Anyway, this store is decent for the most part. The employees are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about cars in general, the products they sell, and where everything is located in the store, and the stock in general I didn't have an issue with. They hadn't ever heard of a car de-icer (I hadn't either.... I just figured someone would make them, since it's a constant problem!), but I was able to find good car scrapers without breaking the bank. I also picked up a few regular items I was low on to keep in the garage, if need be. Even though the prices aren't cheap, they aren't expensive either, and any of this stuff would have definitely been more at the hardware store down the street or CVS either. 4 stars.

Who knew I would find an auto parts store close to my work out place ,Curves? It was when I I tried…read moreto lock my car with the key fob, I discovered my 10yr old battery for the fob died . It's a 10 year old Lexus and I knew the dealership would charge a fortune, so I stopped into Advance Auto Parts. Brad Andrews could not have been more helpful. He took the key apart and tried the usual ways of opening the inside casing. He even looked on YouTube on his personal phone to discover the inside casing of my key is unlike all the other keys shown. He really did try a dozen of different ways. He did go above and beyond what I had expected in a retail store. So here's a grateful shout out to Brad and Advance Auto Parts.

I'll make this simple. Honest shop who tells it like it is,…read morethey will explain everything to you in layman's terms and ensure you make an informed decision. From my interactions they will not do any work on your car unless they deem it necessary. My wife's Jeep had a light pop on for about 2 weeks, we brought it in expecting to pay hundreds.....Dave explained everything to us, said nothing really needed to be done as it wasn't a safety issue (which is top priority) light went off on its own, hasn't come back on since and we didn't get charged a dime for the diagnosis or the conversation. Its nice to have an honest mechanic in the neighborhood as bad ones are a dime a dozen. Highly recommend R & R Auto Repair.

I had R&R change a water pump for me and I was really happy with the work that David the owner did…read more After driving just under 15,000 miles the water pump died again and I bought my vehicle back in thinking it would be covered under warranty. After David looked at it I went back in to talk to him and he tells me that I had a blown head gasket and it would cost $6,000 to get it fixed. I told him to put it back together and I would fix it myself. When I got it home I noticed parts were missing and hoses weren't connected. After further investigation I realized that the head gasket was not blown and it was just a water pump. Water pumps are suppose to last 80,000 to 100,000 miles. David the owner ether has lack of knowledge on how to diagnose or he was trying to scam me out of $6,000. I would never go back or recommend this shop to anyone.

I went to Paul's for the first time and have to say I totally disagree with the previous comments…read moreabout his prices. I manage finances for a chain of gas stations that also do repair work but currently commute 2 hours to work so I couldn't go there to have my car fixed since my car was not drivable. My brother and father are both car mechanics and they looked into the parts I would need to fix the issue with my vehicle. They said that it costs $45 retail and that's not even the cheapest option. My brother diagnosed my car and told me to mention spark plugs and coils to him as needing to be fixed. I asked Paul to diagnose it and I didn't hear from him until he called to tell me it was fixed for $213 ($100 of which was labor). That means that, before tax, the ONE coil he fixed was $106. He even mentioned there are cheaper coils out there but they aren't like this one. I was never consulted about this and would have opted for a cheaper coil since it's an older car with a lot of miles that I'm hoping to get rid of in the next month or so. Paul is extremely friendly but considering he doesn't have a true POS system, his prices are very high (this coming from someone that sees the wholesale prices of parts and how other body shops operate).

He is such an honest guy and always lets you know if something actually needs to be repaired vs could go a few more months (unlike many other places). He does a great job, in a timely manner and his prices cannot be beat; they are far better than any other place I've had a quote. Would definitely recommend!
