Getting older, my wedding and anniversary rings (the latter with 9 Marquis diamonds of varying sizes) were too small. I had put off having them resized through COVID, and, finally, took them in to Stevenson's for resizing. Considering how precious both of these rings are to me, I am *beyond* happy with the way they were treated. Resized, cleaned, and polished, they were so beautifully done. On June 15, 2020 my nephew and I took my deceased father's ring into Stevenson's to be reshaped and resized. It is now almost four months later. After many excuses of stating why the ring was not worked on and/or completed, we went back to Stevenson's to retrieve the ring. We asked to pay for any costs accrued. We planned to take the ring to another place of business that could do the work. The male owner outrightly refused to give us back our property; my deceased dad's ring. The female owner then declared she would only return the ring if she melted it down! Due to their refusal to give back the ring properly, we gave them 24 hours to finish the ring. The next day we did get the ring after a much heated conversation. We asked what we owed, (the original quote was $200) and the female owner told us she did not want any money. We offered to pay half the quote. She said that was an insult. So we left with the ring, at no cost. After many years of loyal business, the second-generation owners/workers of this store have badly tarred the reputation that their predecessors built. They verbally lambasted us when we dropped in (4 times in four months) and accused us of calling everyday and bugging them. They clearly exaggerate and/or have confused us with another customer's/order number. Please, beware if you take sentimental jewelry to Stevenson's. Buyer Beware. I have been to Stevenson's on a couple of occasions each time dealing with Mr. Stevenson or his wife. I brought my wife's ring to be resized and a cross that needed to have the eye part for the chain repaired because it had come apart after many years. The work was done well and in a week. Both were gold pieces I had made. I went back to the store over 6 months ago to have three things done. When I arrived Mr Stevenson had gone on a long over due vacation with his wife to Hawaii and left his daughter and her husband in charge. I needed a stone set for one of my wife's rings, I needed to have a broken star sapphire remove from one of my rings and a new stone replaced and I needed to have a large amethyst stone placed in a large pendant I made for my wife many years ago. I made the pieces mentioned above and many other rings and crosses, in both gold and silver, when I was in the Bay Area where I had access to a studio, I no longer have access to a location where I can work on the jewelry myself. I was told by the daughter it would take about a week. Three weeks later I got the call that the work was done. The stone was set nicely in my wife's ring and the broken stone was removed from my ring. The problem came with the pendant. The pendant I received was not the one I brought in. Mine was an original piece with no markings on it, and long prongs to hold the stone. She had substituted a smaller gold pendant less than half the weight of the original pendant. I noticed the difference immediately and examined the piece while I was there but didn't say anything. When I arrived home I further examined the piece and found a partial stamped 14 on the rear, the eye hook was not large enough for an average chain to pass through and the eye was a double loop, and there were tool marks on the rear to make the piece look amateurish. I have made several rings, crosses and pendants. I have never had a double eye hook and the loops were always made large enough to fit any chain through. I called the store immediately and was told I am wrong and I am tarnishing her integrity. I am sorry I did not take a picture of the piece I brought in, so it is just my word against hers. I cannot prove my claim but have lost many nights sleep over this shady deal. The piece now sits unusable because none of my wife's chains fit. She said I could cut the chain and put it though and then fix the chain. I can only hope her father is back from Hawaii and sees this review and know how his business has lost the integrity it once had, at least in my eyes, not from me, but his daughters business practices. I will never go there again. It would be nice to get my piece back but that will never happen, like I said my word against hers with no proof. I am only sorry I did not place this review sooner. After seeing the piece just sitting in my wife's jewelry box today I just got upset and decided to do this long overdue review. read more

I dropped my wedding bands to be soldered together. I had been married for only 8 days. I was quoted $35. I had to call them, because they didn't call me, to see if it was ready since I had dropped it off a week earlier, to be told come on over its ready. When I arrived, I was billed $45. I asked why and she told me that I was being charged $10 for the gal to reset a diamond that came out during the cleaning process. I feel like I shouldn't have to pay for the diamond falling out during their cleaning process. When I gave it to them, all the diamonds were in place. She told me that sometimes that diamonds are only being held in because of the dirt around them. Keep in mind, I had only been wearing it for 8 days. So it was barely dirty. The woman that did the soldering and resetting the diamond was not available for me to talk to until Nov 3rd! Thats literally one month away. I feel like I was scammed. I will not be bringing my business there again! I am very disappointed! read more

Got a call from a blocked number. I cleared it, and Julie told me she 'had a necklace for somebody.' When I asked her who she was looking for, she hung up on me. I tried to call back, but got a voice mail with a 'full mailbox.' I have never given my number to this company, and live distant to them, so there is no reason for them to have my number unless they have purchased a bulk list of phone numbers. I cannot stand cold calls with scams, especially when they hang up on me. I am not able to call them back to complain about their business practices, so here I am. I visited this family-owned business yesterday for the first time. I have two highly unusual rings which needed a little work and I was immediately helped. The issues were taken care of within a few minutes while I waited...and, with a smile I might add. They do more than repairs. They also have jewelry and supplies for sale. I have had several pieces of jewelry and watches repaired here. The whole family is in this together. I had a watch that I took to macys for a battery and they charged me $30 to replace. It only worked for a day. So I took it to Stevensons and they repaired it, put a new battery in it and it is still working. That was over a year ago. And it cost $15. So today I'll be taking my husband's watch and my new watch, plus a ring to be resized. I won't go anywhere else. read more

If you bring an item in for cleaning or repair they clean or repair it as requested not offer to purchase it from you! This is a small family ran business with great attention to detail. I brought in an ultra thin Raymond Weil men's watch to have a battery replaced and a new pin put in the band. Unfortunately, when the watch was returned to me, they were unable to replace the battery as it was "glued in or something". I'm the original owner of this 25+ year old watch and have never had this problem before. Also, and very unfortunately, the edge between the back of the watch and the face was pretty badly damaged where they pried it open. They offered to "smooth it out a little" but it's still marred. Additionally, there was dust in the face of the watch which wasn't there before! I was on the verge of selling this watch which would have easily fetched $250 but now it's pretty much worthless! I'd give one star and ask for some sort of compensation for the damage but I don't have the heart to do it to such a small Mom and Pop place. I should have known better than to trust a valuable piece to such a small operation but they had pretty good reviews and it seemed like a simple task. read more
