I brought in my vintage wedding set for sizing (that was a huge mess because of 2 different…read moreprevious jewelers). I really didn't think it could be fixed but I was wrong. This was my grandmother's originally and is nearly 70 years old. The prongs were blobs of gold barely holding in the diamonds, the rings were soldered together crooked & it was slightly too small. I can't overstate how PERFECT my wedding set came back. The jeweler made them look literally brand new. I'm blown away by the excellence of the work done on them. He also sized my newer engagement ring after another jeweler had sized it way too big. It also looks brand new again. I want to mention that all 3 shanks on these rings have a lot more gold than when I brought them. That is something that I have *never* had happen w/ other jewelers before. The price for all 3 rings was around $260. I paid almost $200 to get my newer engagement ring sized ONLY (and it was the wrong size!) by a different jeweler in Grass Valley who shall not be named but beware of the "S" jeweler in GV. I had a quote to fix only the prongs on the vintage set & it was $75 per crown, which would have been $600. I wasn't even charged separately for the prong repair by Utopian Stone. Also, Diane (co owner) and I talked for a long time while she checked out a ring I wanted looked at, and she showed me all kinds of great stones and jewelry. We had a great time & I really enjoyed our convo. They are the best in Nevada County hands down. I will never go anywhere else. Thank you for fixing my rings! I haven't been able to wear the wedding set for over 10 years, and I'm thrilled. I cannot say enough about the quality of this work. I will be back!!

The first two times they did work at the silver palace and it was fabulous, the 3rd time it was somewhere else and they screwed it up but I still wear that ring I bought at 14 with money I received for christmas on Dec 26 1988. I ended up going back a second time, and both of my visits were exceptional thanks to the knowledge and expertise of the folks working there. My second visit I got to meet Sarah, the owner, and even in our brief conversation I learned so much about sapphires! Sarah, and each person I met who works with her, was excited to talk about jewelry and stones and share knowledge. It's not the kind of jewelry store that feels sterile and like the sales associates are judging you - it's the opposite, and in fact it was such a positive experience that I'm still thinking about it months later. She offered a more than 20% lower amount than that what I received from a dealer in Yuba City later the same day. I cannot trust this person who was also rude and behaved like she would do me a favor to do business with me. Also, what does it matter how much silver she seems to have? Base is the current spot price of silver and how much wholesale dealers offer these small shops to buy their silver from. If I want to buy silver from her is she then saying, "I have plenty of silver, I'll give you a 20% discount ....."? Of course not, she'll charge way above spot price never mentioning an "oversupply" of silver.

She was extremely respectful and took the time to let us browse their bullion selection without any pressure. We felt welcomed from the moment we walked in. As collectors coming from the Bay Area, we really appreciated the variety they offered. They had a great selection of bullion, coins, and hobby accessories, including some pieces that aren't commonly available at many other coin shops. We ended up picking up a few items we were excited to find.
