Great customer service and some beautiful pieces that you don't see in a chain store. Took home an amazing pair of earrings for my birthday!

The lack of honesty! I walked past this business about a year ago and they asked if they could clean my rings! Mind you I have a huge diamond. They said I needed to get my prongs built up and quoted me 500.00!!!! I was raised in the jewelry business so I knew that was a lie. I went somewhere else and was told my ring was perfect and didn't need anything! Then a year later I was at Sierra moon with my gf who wanted to look at bands! They did not recognize me and again asked if I wanted my diamond cleaned. They again said I needed a built up on my wedding band for 730.00 and my diamond for 250.00. I didn't ask to have my rings checked . I immediately took them to my jeweler who said my rings needed " no fixing"!!!! Sierra moon is a place I would run from!!! read more

Had a horrible experience with sierra moon, was told they could make an engagement ring for me and my fiancee at 3k each mine was 18k hers was 14k. tooks over 3 weeks to finally get a design after a lot of back and fourth with one of their employees who come to find out after she up and left that she wasn't even experienced in jewelry, we asked for a deposit back and they begged us to give them another chance, so we did thinking we were in good hands. they gave us a ring that weighed 6 grams of 18k and a ring that weighed 4 grams of 14k for a total amount of $6,300 i had no idea how bad it was gonna be and they had an upcharge of 500% i mean they basically are charging over 24k price i will never go back to sierra moon and i hope people really do their research before trusting them with something as special as engagement rings read more

Make sure to get any quote in writing if you choose to work with them. We've had good experience in the past so we trusted this business but unfortunately couldn't move any further with our last purchase after too many inconsistencies made us feel we were being taken advantage of. We were quoted $1000 for a 2mm 10k gold band, we chose to go with something thinner and then was told the thinner band would be $1000 and the 2mm band was actually $1400, despite us having a voicemail proving that was not the original quote. This was after numerous delays and inconsistencies including: -waiting 2 weeks just to get a quote -voicemails saying items would be ready a certain day only to come in and find out they were never ordered -asking for 10k gold and being given prices for 14k gold without knowing. We contacted the owner and they sort of apologized but also denied that any of things mentioned above happened despite us having proof based off voicemails they left. It was also implied I was only upset due to the stress of wedding planning since this was suppose to be my wedding band which felt super dismissive. We were offered either $50 off or our deposit of $300 back and chose to have our deposit refunded, which we did appreciate. read more

I had a bizarre and highly unprofessional experience here. I brought in two rings for a simple polish and was told it would be roughly $100, but that I'd need to leave a non-refundable deposit just to get a firm quote later because the rings had to be "sent out to a professional polisher." When I hesitated, the employee spent five minutes typing on her computer and suddenly came back with an "official" quote of over $500. It's hard to believe the price quintupled in five minutes, or that she suddenly didn't need to send them out for that quote once I questioned the deposit. Most concerning was the lack of expertise. I asked for an appraisal on a necklace clearly engraved with a "750" hallmark. She told me the stone was likely fake because the chain was white and "wasn't even silver." For a professional jeweler to not recognize the standard hallmark for 18k white gold is a massive red flag. Between the "bait and switch" pricing tactics and the inability to identify basic gold hallmarks, I wouldn't trust this shop with high-end jewelry. I'm glad I didn't leave a deposit and took my business elsewhere. read more

Sierra moon makes stunning jewelry at a pretty fair price. The only issue I had with them was, we came in for a custom job and had a budget of 2-2.5k, which they assured was enough to do what we wanted! They made the piece for us, and when we went to pick it up, the price ended up being $4,000 ( with credit for metal we had brought in to be melted down and used) Which we were both shocked about but what were we going to do? We are now down over $1500 in our wedding budget read more

Sierra Moon - THANK YOU! BEAUTIFUL - Jewelry Near Me - Auburn, California

For our 20th wedding anniversary, my husband wanted to treat me to getting my engagement/wedding ring redesigned, using the original diamond from my old ring. I made an appointment with Kristy (the jewelry designer). She gave me her undivided time and attention during the appointment. She listened carefully to what I wanted, and we discussed the details at length. I even showed her ideas from Pinterest that I had saved, so that she could see what I was trying to describe. Later, I was given the opportunity to review the design and make tweaks, which I appreciated. When we went to pick up my ring, they made that special occasion feel even more special by bringing me a glass of champagne. (It's the little things.) Seeing my new ring for the first time took my breath away. I still can't believe how beautiful it is. Overall, I am very pleased with the result. Kristy and the rest of the staff at Sierra Moon were so welcoming and accommodating. They made the whole process very easy. Their customer service is excellent and they provide high quality jewelry and services at a reasonable price. If you are looking to have a piece of jewelry designed, I highly recommend Sierra Moon and will definitely be going back myself. read more

I walked it knowing who I was buying for, but with no idea of what to choose. I was guided and everyone made me feel comfortable and gave me plenty of choices with a simple process to narrow it down. The perfect piece was found! My sister loves her necklace and every time she looks at it she things of how proud her siblings are that she received her doctorate! Such gorgeous pieces to choose from here and Shawn and Brad are so helpful! read more

Good people. Good repair work Would definitely recommend them for new stuff or repairs of current gold

Back in November, my fiancé and I researched and found Sierra Moon Goldsmiths here in Auburn. We were looking for a business to help us with a custom made, raw diamond engagement ring and simultaneously needed to downsize my dad's wedding band to fit my fiancé's finger. We wanted to use the excess gold from the wedding band in the creation of my engagement ring. That's a lot of things to accomplish! I called Sierra Moon Goldsmiths and was set up with DeAnne, a very skilled jewelry designer. On their website, you can read a bio of all of the designers and the two owners. I really liked that! Anyway, our engagement ring and wedding band project came out perfectly! There were many other "perks" of working with Sierra Moon Goldsmiths: we were connected with a local jewelry and gemstone appraiser, we met and secured our wedding photographer, and most importantly we found a local goldsmith who knows how to work with people and provide excellent customer service. Plus, sometimes there's an adorable "shop dog" named Luna to pet, too! I highly recommend Sierra Moon Goldsmiths if you're looking for custom work, repairs, have unique requests, or just have questions about your jewelry in general. Their prices are reasonable for the service and skill they provide (that is my opinion and understandably everyone's income/outflow is different and someone else may disagree with me regarding pricing/cost). Sierra Moon Goldsmiths: I will be back, SOON! read more

My husband and I knew we wanted to work with a local jeweler for our custom design engagement ring. After looking into a few places we are so happy we went with Sierra Moon! The quality and experience was 5 stars for sure! They worked with diamonds we had from an inherited ring and stayed in our budget. We look forward to shopping and working with Sierra Moon in the future! read more

Sierra Moon - Custom engagement ring by Sierra Moon - Jewelry Near Me - Auburn, California

My husband and I happened across this beautiful local store one day and I can honestly say they are my absolute go-to for jewelry! Their designs are so unique but still wearable, and I know nobody else is going to have the pieces I buy there. The service and attitude of everyone who works there is also incredibly friendly, authentic, and down to earth. They truly listen to you and do everything they can to make your vision a reality. We see them more as friends than business owners after buying our engagement ring and wedding bands there, earrings and a custom-designed necklace. I highly recommend you check it out! read more

Sierra Moon - Estate piece from Sierra Moon made into an engagement ring, and custom-designed necklace. Thank you Sierra Moon! - Jewelry Near Me - Auburn, California

Don't waste your time with this place. I called to ask if they buy scrap gold and silver and the lady that answered said "yes, absolutely come on down". Me "coming on down" consisted of an hour and a half drive just to have them say "oh we don't buy scrap gold or silver anymore. We've bought a lot lately." I told the broad, supervisor/manager/whatever, how I just drove an hour and a half there based off of her employee telling me to do so and she could care less. She just stood there lookin and blinkin like I did something wrong. I wouldn't recommend going there. there's plenty of other options in the area. Lame as f****!!!! If I could give it zero stars or negative stars I would. read more

I have always trusted Sierra Moon especially with jewelry repairs. They do quality work and I wouldn't trust any other jeweler

I stopped by the store after seeing the exact ring I wanted on their website. I was helped immediately by Michelle and she went above and beyond to show me all the options. I look forward to working with Sierra Moon in the near future ;) read more

First time in, I met the owner Shawn. She walked me through replacing a missing stone in my wedding set, and having all the channels tightened so no other stones fall out. I felt immediately comfortable with her and the process! When I dropped off my rings, Michele helped me out, she was just as warm and wonderful, helping me add other services and items. I only wished I knew they did redesigns, buying of older jewelry, and repurposing diamonds years ago, I 100% would of worked with them! I will definitely be working with them for next redesign. read more

Sierra Moon is incredible. I was introduced by a trusted friend and they have maintained that trust. I have had a great deal of work done on some heirloom pieces and they have handled them with great care and respect. Went to Sierra Moon a few months back with my 27 year-old wedding ring. Discussed having a "new" ring made but was thrilled to have a designer there remind me of the uncommonly used, lost wax method used to create my beautiful, one-of-a-kind gold ring & chose to have the ring resized instead. In addition, one of the other designers noticed the prongs for my center diamond were severely worn and were in need of replacement to protect the center stone. Very pleased also with the quality of their work! Will be back. read more

We had come in a few times to browse their line of jewelry and found out Sierra Moon made custom wedding rings. I of course came back separately to start working on a one-off engagement ring for my fiancé. Shawn's team and herself personally helped us throughout the process and we couldn't be happier with the result! Don't be fooled by the fact Auburn is a small town. The caliber of jewelry and service is beyond most stores you'll find in major cities. If you're driving through from San Francisco or Tahoe, definitely find an excuse to swing by. They have a really nice range of fine/custom jewelry, as well as high-quality affordable pieces. read more

Sierra Moon is a true gem in the foothills! The owners, Brad & Shawn, as well as the entire staff are incredible to work with. From the moment you walk in you are always greeted with incredibly friendly staff that have the in depth knowledge to guide you to exactly what you're looking for. I walked in to purchase a custom engagement ring in the morning and had it in my hands that same evening! As a guy knowing nothing about jewelry you would think this process would be intimidating. Not at Sierra Moon! They made me feel incredibly comfortable and educated me on the different diamonds and metals and created the most stunning engagement ring that I've ever seen. She said YES! Since then, we have gone back many times and referred all our family to Sierra Moon as they are simply the best. Always having the perfect gifts with updated styles and designers. Great company! Friendly staff! Beautiful work! Honest! Genuine! Real people! Here's a little bit of our recent experience with trying to get a ring resized: We started by going to both locations of another jeweler here in Auburn. The first location told me my ring sizing could not be done. The second location told me, it could be done but there were 26 stones already loose on my ring. I would need to re-tip all of the stones on my ring because if we only did the 26 it would look bad and I would be unhappy. So to do my ring sizing it would cost us $750. We went and got a third opinion in Roseville. This man told us that what the first company said was not true, he recommended we go to a jeweler off of Arden way because they are honest. My husband and I like to support local Auburn businesses, so that was out of the question. So we came to Sierra Moon to see what their opinion was, they agreed with the man from Roseville, long story short, and lots of frustration aside, we are so happy! My ring is beautiful! Sierra moon was able to only re-tip what needed to be re-tipped and they did it all for $300!! Big difference $750 to $300.... This is the ONLY jeweler we will go to in Auburn. Sierra Moon - Thank you! My ring looks gorgeous and it fits! - Jewelry Near Me - Auburn, California

I love everyone at Sierra Moon - they have become my "go to" for anything with jewelry. They have rebuilt inherited sentimental pieces for me - beautifully and with retaining the feel of the original. They have sized, and repaired, and been there for every need I had. They are all very creative, honest, knowledgeable, and incredibly patient. They will show you options and be mindful of your particular budget. There is never a "hard sell" - I always get the feeling that they put my needs first. Also - their in-house jewelry is a very interesting spread - from minimal to bodacious, old-school to modern, inventive to basic. There is a lot of fun to be had when you visit, and I believe there is something for every taste. They make it a delightful and painless experience to do business with them. read more

Love, love, love this store. I have been taking my jewelry in for many years and love their custom designs. These three designs were created from family diamonds I had inherited. Every five years I take all my gold odds and ends into the store and have a redesign done. It's like getting new jewelry all the time. Buy-back prices are fair and I completely trust their judgment and suggestions. Great people to work with. read more

Fantastic customer service and beyond amazing craftsmanship! My man and I took four of my late grandmothers wedding rings (she didn't take any crap from a man and was kinda difficult...like me LOL) and asked the designer to create something really interesting and unique for my wedding ring. I am passionate about living a green life and being able to upcyle items I already owned was a perfect way to wear the past AND have something that is uniquely my own. Working together on ideas and concept, the jeweler created a piece of art for my finger. Really truly a master artist who 100% got that I did NOT want something that was going to look like it could be bought at the mall. My ring is like no other I have ever seen. I often have strangers stop me on the street and ask me about the amazing art on my finger. I'm a bit of a picky girl....and Sierra Moon gave me everything I wanted and sooooo much more. Great job!! read more

A wonderful find in auburn ! A few months ago we were walking by and I stopped to admire a lovely gold necklace and pendant cutout in the shape of California . I've seen many of these state representative pendants on sale from numerous places before, but nothing of this high quality! Sierra Moon designs and make all their jewelry in house . They are true goldsmiths and their pieces are all unique and can be personalized . Last night my love surprised me with my very own golden state with a diamond placed in Sacramento ! :) I love it !! Its a beautiful piece of jewelry! The finish is a brushed gold or "ice" as they describe it and I love feeling the edge cuts of the pendant ...It's really thick and hearty , like a gold nugget:) the employees are all very friendly and helpful . If you truly want to find that perfect unique gift for your loved ones, defiantly check out Sierra moon ! Their workmanship , quality, design, and service is top notch ! read more

Although they had nice pieces, this place was a rip off. I had been searching for over a year for a specific type of setting and finally found one from a jeweler that only sells their settings through other jewelers. When I found out that Sierra Moon was one, I stopped in to see how much it would cost. Because of the rising cost of gold, they quoted me an astronomical number on the setting - 5k! When I said this wasn't something that I could do, the owner then said she would be able to take 500 off. I found another jeweler in old town Sacramento and they were able to sell me the same exact setting for 3700 dollars. read more

I was looking for an amethyst necklace as a birthday present for my granddaughter, who was turning 16 in February. She had asked for something with her birthstone. I explained all this to the young woman who helped me at Sierra Moon. Since nothing in my price range was available in the shop, she brought out catalogs and helped me look through them for the perfect necklace to order.
