shoutout to Mae Mae because she taught me to ski here back in January 2025. so thankful for her because she really took it upon herself to teach me something new when I was hella doubting myself I like that there are multiple runs at different levels...except for green circle, which is the beginner one :( the green one is still a good run, especially with the obstacles being available if you want to try some tricks on the side, but I hate that the runs are limited in quantity. for the blue square levels, I feel as though the types of runs represent three different intermediate levels, so try all of them to gauge what level you are at. as for the bunny hills, nothing crazy and the magic carpet worked the entire time, but it shuts down earlier than when the rest of the resort closes. I like that there are slots that you can have your equipment stay at while you go inside to eat or go bathroom. food and drinks here are expensive, but at least it is warm. I was able to even take a nap inside when I was resting from the slopes. staff was quick at their job, but kind of rude. it is to the point that they are rushing you to make a decision on what to order and for you to check in at the front with your membership. Oddly cliquey with the staff who scan the membership cards before you go on the lift. but, at least the staff who control the lifts are really bubbly and kindhearted. I liked talking with them and they are very encouraging to those who are having their first time skiing or snowboarding :) so thank u to those people

Shoutout Crystal in the rental shop on closing day 4/12. She hooked it up on a rental board. She should've promoted immediately. Closing day was sick.

Visited Stevens Pass on a Sunday with friends. We reserved parking since we had four people in the car, but it wasn't necessary--we arrived around 8:30 AM, and parking wasn't an issue. Surprisingly, the lines were short and moved quickly. The staff were super helpful, even letting us switch out boots mid-day when our feet started hurting. We didn't check out the café or take any lessons, but overall, the experience was 4.75/5 - we get spoiled by the long runs on mammoth but I'd definitely come back. That said, the $165 day pass was pretty steep (my friends have Epic, but my wife and I are on Ikon).

Group lessons, and the bunny slope

First off -it's beautiful..... lots of evergreen trees planted sporadically throughout the mountains, right down to the bunny hill. Lots of lifts both rope lifts and ski lifts where you just catch the seat and head on up the mountain. The day we visited was very questionable weatherwise, we had already had 14 inches of snow since the day before and for some reason in the past, it is pretty much miserable in terms of lots of snow lots of fog, some freezing precipitation. My grandsons and my daughter-in-law really enjoyed the skiing. My youngest grandson took a half a day lesson and really was ready for the slopes after that as with any tourist location prices were sky high to rent skis to rent poles to eat or drink anything my son hung out with me as he was afraid I might take a fall and that's why I didn't rate this place five stars. I know that it's a ski resort, but I was really thinking that there would be paths that were cleared so that people that weren't as used to walking on ice and snow wouldn't have such a high risk of falling. I'm very grateful as my son or my grandsons were very attentive and did everything they could to help me avoid falling. In fact, I only had one fall and I know it would've been a lot more if they hadn't hung onto me or let me hold their hands. I am just not as steady as I used to be. Although I didn't do any winter activities, just walking around staying upright, was enough stress and exercise both !!! There are lots of provisions with probably 4 to 5 different restaurant locations on the property. There were places where you could get an adult beverage if you chose to do so. Everyone was starving, but we only wanted a snack as we were going to be heading home and having dinner at our Airbnb . I guess $150 isn't too bad for five people for a snack??????? That was without any alcohol!!!! Anyhow, way more good than bad. You really can't beat the scenery in this location of Washington state, it's fabulous.

3 stars for sure. This mountain has no frills skiing with some questionable lifts (still in operation). I've heard the mountain quality took a nose dive after vail purchased it but I don't have a frame of reference. It's usually packed on the weekends so you'd literally need to leave seattle by 6:15 / 6:30 am to beat the crowd. Forget about the parking situation on a holiday weekend. There are definitely some good trails but the snow can be a bit chunky. Hey, still better than the east coast stuff I grew up with. If you are looking to apres ski, you'll have to do it in your car. I recommend the same for lunch. Truly no frills but decent skiing.

This was my first time at any Ski Mountain and I had a blast here. We got here a little early incase parking fills up. There are multiple lots to park at this Ski Resort. We were confused on where to go to check-in for our passes/tickets. We were able to find the lockers, and the rent fee wasn't too bad depending on the size of locker you choose. The mountain itself was gorgeous. We came on a right day where it was sunny and snowing at the same time. The snow on the ground was also good and not overpacked. We were lucky enough to meet a fellow snowboarder who was local, his name was Josh. He took time to teach us how to snowboard since it was our first time. He then took us to the kiddie hill, where we practiced getting on our boards and how to go down, stop, turn, and all that fun stuff. After we were comfortable, he took some of us on the lifts. There were multiple lifts here some take you high up the mountain, Josh took some of us to the smaller one as a sample and to get comfortable going down the mountain. I stayed at the kiddie hill to continue practicing. Josh was definitely a great help and such a friendly soul. The resort itself was great. They also had food here, although it was on the pricier side, they had a lot of different selections on the food. A lot of seating area as well. On some days they open later and you are able to Ski at night. They also have some outdoor fireplaces where you can warm up if you're feeling a little cold. Overall, we had a blast here!

We come skiing here most weekends from Seattle. We bought the local epic pass which only covers Stevens. Overall I love skiing here. The snow is usually quite good. While it can get busy if you ski the backside most weekends there are usually fewer people there. The reason for four stars rather than five is due to the lack of facilities and good restaurants. I could be being unfair because I'm used to larger European resorts where there are numerous restaurants across the slopes but here is it mostly mass catering. However, it is fairly easy to get a gluten and dairy free option (only about one though) which is a salad with quinoa. However it is pretty yummy and very filling! Overall I would recommend coming here if you're a local. If you're from out of town and looking for a ski vacation stevens probably isn't the place for you. But for a day trip it's perfect!

Coming on a Weekday? Are you an Early Arrival? You'll have an OK time. The terrain is great. Don't want to arrive an hour before open? Can you only ski the weekend? This place will be overcrowded, overpriced and skied out in no time. The employees are awesome. The mountain is awesome. It's too bad the business and crowd control can't accommodate

Of course this was where I used to ski among other resorts in Washington when I used to live in Seattle. Passing by today on way to Leavenworth's Bavarian village reminisces of the Swiss Alps as the backdrop of the Cascades! Simply devine! Crystal & Snoqualmie mountains were 1st and 2nd andvthis was my 3rd favorite!

Long lines for tickets and passes on a weekday
John G.

Yes as most say with the new management every season pass holder that pre purchased their season pass have to wait on a 45 min line to swap their passes. Thanks Steven's pass, great start! The lines were longer for the non season pass holders. And this was on a weekday. Also gone is the 3 lessons guarantee package for beginners. Update: The staff would offer a complementary day pass in the morning for season holders who have to swap their old passes and they could come to swap their passes later in the day when the line could be smaller. Around lunch time the line was a bit smaller, 20-30min. Also for daily pass purchases they offered a pass while waiting in the loooooong line that you can go load it on your phone online. That saved my friend a lot of time. Once we got our passes the lines at the lifts were not long at all (this is on a Friday morning) and it was a good day for ski. Note that not all the lifts are running yet, but still a lot of fun.

My family and I own a house in Leavenworth. We purchase season passes to Stevens every year. Stevens is our winter life. Vail purchased Stevens about two years ago. The Vail purchase has been a disaster. The first disappointment for us was the decline of the quality of food in the restaurants. We then learned that Vail cut wages and lost many of its longtime managers and ski patrol. It became noticeable that Vail took longer to get the mountain open last year after every fresh snow because of a staff shortage. This year the Vail disaster culminated on the busiest week of the year, Xmas to New Years. In spite of 6 feet of snow, only 4 of 12 lifts are open. They don't have the staff. The other resorts in the state of Washington are fully open but not Stevens. Don't waste your money on Stevens.

Stevens pass what a great weekend getaway

I have a Honda Civic FWD. Do you recommend tire chains to get to Stevens Pass in the winter?

There are many days where your vehicle would be chained required or get a ticket. so you need to have chains in possession and on those days you don't have a choice unless you have 4WD

This intermediate terrain had some steep faces and wide terrain to accomdate a crowd of people. There was one day, the winds were blowing up Sun Spot and was blowing snow up the hill, which I was told was not the norm. There were some icy spots but never any rock skiing danger. I did not venture out to Chair 4 where there were two other runs open. I had lunch both days at Midway Lodge. One pulled pork rice bowl and one pulled pork sandwich. Both pork products were juicy and well seasoned, great for a mid day break. There was pleanty of seating inside as well as outside. At the base lodge area, there are multiple places to access the bathroom and getting RFID card was a snap. Just showed them my payment email and was printed a card right away. The lifts were generally fast, and they did show down for the ski schoolers occassionally. Lines were mainly only about 4 to 6 people deep and once you got your lift ticket scan, off you were to sit a spell and enjoy the views. The staff was great, answered questions and nice all around. Since it was early in the season, parking was not a problem and I was always close to the base lodge. I did not try the night skiing, so if you did buy the day pass, you could continue into the night skiing hours if you had the energy. I ended my day bot times in the 3:30 range. I did download the PDF trail map but they also had posted trail maps at certian locations avaliable. As for wifi, this worked at the base lodge area and not at Midway Lodge. Cell service worked at Midway but I noticed a few times my text messages failed to deliver, but on the second try went through. I would return here since Stevens Pass has gotten very busy in the past few years and due to road damage, I opted to try MIssion Ridge, I am glad I did.

There are 4…read morelifts (+ magic carpet) - 1 serves exclusively greens, 1 serves mostly blues with some green, 1 serves blue/black and 1 exclusively blacks. So technically there is something for everyone, but not a lot of variety particularly for beginners. The views from the top of the resort (the expert terrain chair) are awesome - really impressed and could sit up there for hours if there was a place to rest but luckily you can enjoy most of the way up on the 2 person lift. As a heads up, if you have the IKON pass you need to make reservations on the IKON website in advance to ski. For weekends, this can mean at least a few days if not a week in advance (although spots can open up the day before). Also, while there is a shuttle between Alpental and the Summit you cannot ski between the two even though they share the same lift ticket. We signed up for the Alpental Mighties ski lessons which have been a mixed bag. Some of the instructors seem good, but some of the group sizes, particularly for blue-level skiers are out of control. For my 7 year old, she is in a group with 12 kids! Each week there is a new kid that has been dumped in the group that can't keep up which means the instructor spends 80% of her time with the one kid. I don't think that she can tell me anything about my kid (and that's after 4 weeks now). For my other kid, the learn to snowboard group is much more manageable although it is a different instructor every week. While I would have been more understanding given COVID, the organizer is completely unapologetic (and unresponsive) about the circumstances and claimed that lessons continued when the power went out for most of the afternoon (which was downright false since my kids were waiting to be picked up with the rest of their group when I made it down the mountain). Given COVID, there are limited services (food / indoor dining) so have not tried those and usually bring our own lunch and each by the car. Some of the more prepared come ready for a full tailgating experience which I admire.

This is a cat skiing service. For a lot more money than you would pay at a lift-serviced resort,…read morethey put you in a snow cat, ferry you up high on a mountain, and let you out with a guide. Which means, no crowds and generally untracked snow. It's really a special thing to go do. Here's how I'd describe the various components of this service: 5 stars Terrain - this is pretty close to Stevens Pass and it's fantastic. Moderate steeps, moderate trees. Generally I'd describe it as black terrain (not double-diamond for the most part). 5 stars Views - wonderful views of the Cascades 5 stars Avalanche training - just right, not too long but covers the important stuff in maybe 30 min. 4 stars Guides. They were good, took us to great spots... and other than that generally stayed out of the way. 4 stars Lunch. There were nice boxed sandwiches from a deli in Leavenworth. Tasty. 2 stars Cat rides. You spend maybe 1/3 of your time in the back of a cat. My experience was, it was sunny, and there are a lot of windows in the cat (that are unopenable), and very poor ventilation. There is 1 tiny window that opens (like 3" x 14"?) and 2 ineffectual small (3" diameter solar?) vent fans, and 1 heater that was on all the time. It was SO HOT in there. Like 60 degrees which is a lot with ski gear on. With tons of condensation, dripping from the ceiling, and fogging the windows most of the day. Seems like it'd be an easy fix to add a couple more vents/windows that open. Anyway we were all sweating/uncomfortable in there. AND if anyone had covid I'm pretty sure we all got it. All that said, if it was a cold non-sunny day it probably would have been more pleasant in there and less of an issue. One last issue, and this is not their fault at all, is on the way home on weekends you'll get caught in the Stevens Pass bad traffic through Gold Bar and Sultan. So plan for 1 hour to get up there from Monroe and 2-3 hrs to get back on Sat/Sun/holiday. Probably not an issue on weekdays. So guys, fix the cat ride ventilation properly, turn off the heater on hot days, and you'd get 5 stars from me. Great skiing but I dreaded getting back into that hotbox each time. Make sure you are comfortable with black runs if you're coming. If you only like blue runs this isn't for you.
