It was wonderful skiing here last week, but only because the roads were closed and there were no people so there were no lines, good snow left, and parking. It was the first time I came back in years after bad experiences before and after Vail took over and increased prices and ruined it like every resort they touch. This place has not improved since Vail industries purchased it. In fact some aspects have changed and not for the better. The buildings are a bit dilapidated, which for the prices we are paying... it shouldn't be this way. I paid over $6 for a black coffee in a small "glass" and that is just one example of how expensive it has gotten. This place is for the elite and those who have money, which is so sad because I don't think I'd be able to get into skiing/snowboarding if it was like this when I was a kid. We are lucky enough to make this work for our kids but it is a huge stretch. Please make it so people can try these awesome snow sports without taking a loan out! read more

A couple years ago, the ski resort came under new management and they did fantastic things to make this ski resort a fun and enjoyable experience. First off the parking lot situation was much better than it was after the pandemic. I do appreciate the reservation system, and also the dedicated carpool parking area during the peak periods.Plenty of staff manning the parking lot area to help us find a spot. My kid took a few ski lessons here. The instructors were very patient and very good at their job. My kid ended up skiing very quickly after his lesson and was excited to continue to ski for the rest of the season. All of the staff here always have a positive attitude and are great to be around. All of the chair lifts were functioning properly and they had everything moving very well. The main runs were groomed nicely and the first few times I came up. There was fantastic powder, so the ski experience was great. I appreciate Stevens being a part of Vail resorts as I am able to use my epic Pass here. The selection of food is good. There are several cafés that you can get grilled food and a sit down restaurant as well. Appreciate the discount you can get off of the food with your epic pass. All in all, this has been my go to ski resort this winter and probably will continue to be. Looking forward to the next ski season. read more

shoutout to Mae Mae because she taught me to ski here back in January 2025. so thankful for her because she really took it upon herself to teach me something new when I was hella doubting myself I like that there are multiple runs at different levels...except for green circle, which is the beginner one :( the green one is still a good run, especially with the obstacles being available if you want to try some tricks on the side, but I hate that the runs are limited in quantity. for the blue square levels, I feel as though the types of runs represent three different intermediate levels, so try all of them to gauge what level you are at. as for the bunny hills, nothing crazy and the magic carpet worked the entire time, but it shuts down earlier than when the rest of the resort closes. I like that there are slots that you can have your equipment stay at while you go inside to eat or go bathroom. food and drinks here are expensive, but at least it is warm. I was able to even take a nap inside when I was resting from the slopes. staff was quick at their job, but kind of rude. it is to the point that they are rushing you to make a decision on what to order and for you to check in at the front with your membership. Oddly cliquey with the staff who scan the membership cards before you go on the lift. but, at least the staff who control the lifts are really bubbly and kindhearted. I liked talking with them and they are very encouraging to those who are having their first time skiing or snowboarding :) so thank u to those people read more

Visited Stevens Pass on a Sunday with friends. We reserved parking since we had four people in the car, but it wasn't necessary--we arrived around 8:30 AM, and parking wasn't an issue. Surprisingly, the lines were short and moved quickly. The staff were super helpful, even letting us switch out boots mid-day when our feet started hurting. We didn't check out the café or take any lessons, but overall, the experience was 4.75/5 - we get spoiled by the long runs on mammoth but I'd definitely come back. That said, the $165 day pass was pretty steep (my friends have Epic, but my wife and I are on Ikon). read more

First off -it's beautiful..... lots of evergreen trees planted sporadically throughout the mountains, right down to the bunny hill. Lots of lifts both rope lifts and ski lifts where you just catch the seat and head on up the mountain. The day we visited was very questionable weatherwise, we had already had 14 inches of snow since the day before and for some reason in the past, it is pretty much miserable in terms of lots of snow lots of fog, some freezing precipitation. My grandsons and my daughter-in-law really enjoyed the skiing. My youngest grandson took a half a day lesson and really was ready for the slopes after that as with any tourist location prices were sky high to rent skis to rent poles to eat or drink anything my son hung out with me as he was afraid I might take a fall and that's why I didn't rate this place five stars. I know that it's a ski resort, but I was really thinking that there would be paths that were cleared so that people that weren't as used to walking on ice and snow wouldn't have such a high risk of falling. I'm very grateful as my son or my grandsons were very attentive and did everything they could to help me avoid falling. In fact, I only had one fall and I know it would've been a lot more if they hadn't hung onto me or let me hold their hands. I am just not as steady as I used to be. Although I didn't do any winter activities, just walking around staying upright, was enough stress and exercise both !!! There are lots of provisions with probably 4 to 5 different restaurant locations on the property. There were places where you could get an adult beverage if you chose to do so. Everyone was starving, but we only wanted a snack as we were going to be heading home and having dinner at our Airbnb . I guess $150 isn't too bad for five people for a snack??????? That was without any alcohol!!!! Anyhow, way more good than bad. You really can't beat the scenery in this location of Washington state, it's fabulous. read more

I am a novice skier; I would not claim to be a professional at any level when it comes to snow or winter activities. All I would say is that you should take this review with a grain of salt because this would be aimed towards people who are either beginners or people who would like to start skiing. First and foremost, I would say that this is a very fun activity as long as you have all the right equipment and the right group of people with you. You would definitely have fun. This is my first time at Steven's. In the past, I've done skiing in Colorado, and this is on par with some of the places I've been. They have a nice little ski lodge where you can get some hot drinks and food, and there's a heating place over a bit of patio and ticketing area. The line doesn't take a very long time to get tickets and ski lifts. It is very pricey; if you are a student, military, or anything like that, there are discounts available. It costs more per day than a seasonal pass. Depending on the time that you drive, make sure you have snow chains. If you have all-wheel drive, you should be fine, but if you have front-wheel drive, I recommend chains because you will most likely get stuck. The parking can get really crazy, so be wary of that as well because it may not be a place to park near the actual lodge, and before you go onto the lift, make sure you're comfortable with skiing. You should spend a considerable amount of time in the small ski area over by the rentals and lodge, brushing up on some of the basic skills needed in order to go to the more complicated slopes. read more

Terrible Experience with Epic Pass Auto Renew I am extremely disappointed with the Epic Pass auto-renew system. * The auto-renew box was pre-checked by default when I purchased my pass, and I didn't realize it at the time. * I only received one reminder email on March 5th, and the opt-out deadline was April 6th -- more than five months before the actual charge on September 10th. * After the charge, I tried to contact customer service, but I received multiple refusals for a refund, even though I never actively agreed to renew. * Worst of all, Epic Pass does not allow customers to delete their stored credit card from the system. They only allow replacing it with another, which means your payment data is held without real control or consent. This is a classic example of unfair business practices and forced payments. Be very careful: once you are enrolled in auto-renew, it's nearly impossible to cancel, and refunds are flat-out denied. I strongly recommend future customers to read every detail carefully and think twice before purchasing. read more

3 stars for sure. This mountain has no frills skiing with some questionable lifts (still in operation). I've heard the mountain quality took a nose dive after vail purchased it but I don't have a frame of reference. It's usually packed on the weekends so you'd literally need to leave seattle by 6:15 / 6:30 am to beat the crowd. Forget about the parking situation on a holiday weekend. There are definitely some good trails but the snow can be a bit chunky. Hey, still better than the east coast stuff I grew up with. If you are looking to apres ski, you'll have to do it in your car. I recommend the same for lunch. Truly no frills but decent skiing. read more

I visited the resort on Wednesday, March 12, 2025. Before arriving, I purchased my lift ticket and ski rental online, and my payment was immediately confirmed. However, upon reaching the mountain, I was informed that their system had been down all day. They provided me with my lift ticket, and when I asked if this was all I needed to get my ski rentals, they assured me it was--without mentioning that the rental shop would charge me again. After picking up my ski equipment, I went to the front desk, where I was told that despite my prior payment, their system had no record of it due to the outage. They insisted on charging me an additional $70 on top of the $103 I had already paid, advising me to call 970-754-0033 in the morning to request a refund. When I called, I was referred to two other numbers, only to be told they couldn't issue a refund--even though I had a receipt and two credit card transactions proving my purchase. I will be sending my receipts via email and writing a certified letter, as I have since learned that Vail Resorts has a reputation for not reimbursing customers. I should never have been double-charged. I even showed the cashier my online receipt confirming my payment. This resort's lack of ethics is concerning, and I urge others facing similar refund issues to speak up. Based on other reviews, I know I'm not alone. Hopefully, more people come forward, and a class action lawsuit is eventually filed against them. read more

I recently had a scare where my snow chains popped off my car and my tire pressure light went off. My car tires pretty much had no grip and driving was really scary. I went to the car service center at Stevens and (shoutout) Murph helped me. He was the kindest, sweetest person I've met on the mountains. He tightened all my chains, pumped my tires, and talked me through a very stressful situation. Thank you to Murph and the car center for helping me through one of the scariest driving experiences I've had. Without them, my day would've ended very differently. read more

This was my first time at any Ski Mountain and I had a blast here. We got here a little early incase parking fills up. There are multiple lots to park at this Ski Resort. We were confused on where to go to check-in for our passes/tickets. We were able to find the lockers, and the rent fee wasn't too bad depending on the size of locker you choose. The mountain itself was gorgeous. We came on a right day where it was sunny and snowing at the same time. The snow on the ground was also good and not overpacked. We were lucky enough to meet a fellow snowboarder who was local, his name was Josh. He took time to teach us how to snowboard since it was our first time. He then took us to the kiddie hill, where we practiced getting on our boards and how to go down, stop, turn, and all that fun stuff. After we were comfortable, he took some of us on the lifts. There were multiple lifts here some take you high up the mountain, Josh took some of us to the smaller one as a sample and to get comfortable going down the mountain. I stayed at the kiddie hill to continue practicing. Josh was definitely a great help and such a friendly soul. The resort itself was great. They also had food here, although it was on the pricier side, they had a lot of different selections on the food. A lot of seating area as well. On some days they open later and you are able to Ski at night. They also have some outdoor fireplaces where you can warm up if you're feeling a little cold. Overall, we had a blast here! read more

We come skiing here most weekends from Seattle. We bought the local epic pass which only covers Stevens. Overall I love skiing here. The snow is usually quite good. While it can get busy if you ski the backside most weekends there are usually fewer people there. The reason for four stars rather than five is due to the lack of facilities and good restaurants. I could be being unfair because I'm used to larger European resorts where there are numerous restaurants across the slopes but here is it mostly mass catering. However, it is fairly easy to get a gluten and dairy free option (only about one though) which is a salad with quinoa. However it is pretty yummy and very filling! Overall I would recommend coming here if you're a local. If you're from out of town and looking for a ski vacation stevens probably isn't the place for you. But for a day trip it's perfect! read more

I haven't been here in 15 years. However, I had fresh powder on groomed runs, sunshine and no injuries on my day at the pass. I have to say they did a great job with the avalanche control the night before, clearing out the roads, parking lots and even the runs itself were so pleasant. I can't wait to return again. I do agree that it's almost impossible to get anyone on the phone now that they are owned by Vail. I was so worried I had to cancel and get a refund for my ski ticket so I tried calling the day before to understand the process. Thankfully, the next morning the roads were opened so I didn't have to deal with customer service. I also waited 2 hours to get my ski rental which was shockingly slow. I hope they improve on that in the future. I know if I ever go back I am going to get my own rentals in the city first. I had such a fun day, I couldn't say all these hampered my day. But I definitely agree there is room for improvements and feedback. They lost a star because of that. read more

I ski here 30+ days per year. The staff is very good, there are not always enough of them, but the ones that are there are great. We have taken lessons, eaten at the restaurants, brown bagged it, been in line when they open and skied until they close. All around it is very good. Yes, on a weekend you need to arrive early and sometimes there can be lines. As one of the better ski areas in the state, lots of people want to go there. Yes, they run out of parking sometimes. See above. If they didn't get 6 inches over night, you can arrive at 1 and still ski until 10pm on weekends. Vail sucked hard in 2021/2022 but this season is better for sure. They could use more like Managment. I hate standing in line for 15 mins and see chairs with empty seats leaving the station. read more

Yes as most say with the new management every season pass holder that pre purchased their season pass have to wait on a 45 min line to swap their passes. Thanks Steven's pass, great start! The lines were longer for the non season pass holders. And this was on a weekday. Also gone is the 3 lessons guarantee package for beginners. Update: The staff would offer a complementary day pass in the morning for season holders who have to swap their old passes and they could come to swap their passes later in the day when the line could be smaller. Around lunch time the line was a bit smaller, 20-30min. Also for daily pass purchases they offered a pass while waiting in the loooooong line that you can go load it on your phone online. That saved my friend a lot of time. Once we got our passes the lines at the lifts were not long at all (this is on a Friday morning) and it was a good day for ski. Note that not all the lifts are running yet, but still a lot of fun. read more

My family and I own a house in Leavenworth. We purchase season passes to Stevens every year. Stevens is our winter life. Vail purchased Stevens about two years ago. The Vail purchase has been a disaster. The first disappointment for us was the decline of the quality of food in the restaurants. We then learned that Vail cut wages and lost many of its longtime managers and ski patrol. It became noticeable that Vail took longer to get the mountain open last year after every fresh snow because of a staff shortage. This year the Vail disaster culminated on the busiest week of the year, Xmas to New Years. In spite of 6 feet of snow, only 4 of 12 lifts are open. They don't have the staff. The other resorts in the state of Washington are fully open but not Stevens. Don't waste your money on Stevens. read more

I came here for the first time last year and I just visited again recently this year and I had good experiences both times. I'd recommend coming here before 9am so you can get a parking spot at the closest parking lot to the resort. I haven't had to park at further lots but I figure it's a little more of a hassle and inconvenience. You can purchase tickets at the booth but there can be a long line. It's more convenient to buy them online to save some time as well as some money. Note that if you have an Epic pass and want to use your buddy passes you cannot buy them online and will have to stand in line for them. During peak days tickets cost $111 and regular days cost $99. With an Epic pass a buddy pass costs $90 before tax. Similarly you can also purchase equipment rentals online to save which seemed like even longer lines. The rental process was pretty seamless other than waiting in a small line. You get a piece of paper which has all the details that you entered when purchasing the rentals online beforehand (if you did that). Then you go to each station which has the equipment you need and at the end you hand the form to another work. When you're done with your equipment at the end of the day you just return to that same area and drop them off and that's it! Now to the slopes: there are beginner, intermediate, and advanced slopes. There are lifts that take you to where you need to go and the whole operation seems to run smoothly from what I've seen. During clearer days the views from the top are beautiful. The powder and the routes are also pretty good as well. There are also multiple restaurants throughout the resort with a large variety of food options and different cuisines. However they are a little pricier so if you're looking to stay all day and don't want to pay the insane prices I'd recommend bringing your own food. read more

Now that half of the ski season has passed, I feel like I have enough experience to leave a review for Stevens. Parking has been extremely difficult this year and you have to arrive before 9 AM to secure reasonable parking at the closer lots. If you want to park in the closer lots later, you have to arrive after 1 PM. Don't bother parking offsite at the Nordic Center. Stevens advertises that it's only 20 minutes to wait for a shuttle but it takes closer to 2 hours. The shuttles frequently break down so there is usually only one shuttle to circle between the offsite lots and Stevens. Lift lines are still unusually long and lifts on the backside frequently are stopped for extended periods of time. When looking at the map of open runs, usually a third of them are still closed. Lines to the ticketing box are super long on the weekends so if you spent the money for a full day ticket, get there early so you don't have to spend so much of the day waiting in line. If you don't have gear and want to rent at the mountain, make sure you secure a reservation for gear well in advance or rent from elsewhere and bring it with you to the mountain. Generally stevens employees are extremely kind and happy to help you but it appears these issues are more related to management of the organization. read more

If you are used to going skiing and things just being available, don't go here. We arrived and planned to rent skis in the way I've done in many states my whole life and you cannot. You must have a reservations made weeks ago, despite the fact that they said they have tons of unreserved stock. And the person we spoke to about it was pretty unprofessional (complaining about having a job and not being able to go skiing.., he was young but still, sorry you're employed?!). We had to make a two hour round trip back down the mountain to rent skis. Also a lot of restaurants are closed or you had to make reservations days in advance. A day lift ticket is $129 plus tax and they didn't have half days when we went despite that's what we skiied after the rental shenanigans. If you are going to go here, plan way ahead. No last minute ski jaunts. Also the mountain does not give you trail maps anymore and they don't have maps posted very many places, to make up for it, so that's also annoying. The conditions were good but they didn't make the snowstorm the day before so no bonuses for that. If I have to plan and spend this much, next time I'll just go to Colorado! read more

Erm... initially when Vail bought Stevens, I was optimistic. I mean, who wouldn't want a pass that covers both Stevens and Whistler? And hey they significantly upgraded 3 of the chairs which was cool. And the speed of foodservice improved also. But... they can't keep their own lifts running. I mean, despite having good snow, they didn't open the backside or Kehr's this year until Jan 28. So when I shell out $$$ for passes, at a minimum I expect to be able to ski the terrain and this year that's not been the case. They say labor/covid is the issue but pretty much every other resort is running much better with the same labor/covid issues. read more

Big Bear ain't got nothin' on this! Loved this place. Though i freaked out in snowboarding i still had fun, it began to snow and i appreciated it even more. Lots of slopes and lifts -- lines go by fast. the boyfriend had fun. This place was a little intimidating for me. Everyone was so sporty and athletic.... while I'm over here struggling to stand up and falling down while my butt crack was showing... yea i was that girl. Its definitely ALL ages friendly. I stayed in the kiddie section and still couldn't get it together. Majority of the people here are skiers -- they're good. I love that this place is more carefree -- not many rules. You can cut through slopes and stuff. Check-in/Rental lines can get long - i suggest making reservations. The staff are very helpful, they helpful you with sizing, adjusting, everything. I had a better snowboarding experience at Big Bear cz they had smaller slopes. Parking gets pretty full -- come early. Additional parking down the road but you'll have to walk a bit. read more

It's understandable that people have very mixed reviews of this place. In my opinion, it really just comes down to if you're a seasoned skier/border with your own equipment or not. First, parking is quite often an issue at ski resorts and experienced people would know to come early to get good parking. At least the people directing traffic were friendly when we got there. I've heard stories of people coming after 9 and being turned away because there was no parking. Yikes! We got good parking and made the short walk to the ridiculously long ticket lines. Then we saw the rental line. My friends with equipment waited about 30-45 minutes to purchase lift tickets. I waited 3 hours in the rental line to rent equipment. We got there before 9 and I didn't go up my first lift until after 12. You'd think they'd offer some sort of discount or something, but they did offer free hot cocoa since we were all freezing our butts off in the line. 3 hours to rent skis! Ugh. Once we got to the front of the rental line, I was impressed at how efficient it was. It's like an assembly line and because most of the equipment is the same, you don't even need to take off your boots to get them fitted into the skis, they just scan your boot. I heard that the lift lines could be long, but I bet the reason the lift lines were ok was because everyone was standing in line. I've seen way longer lines at squaw valley. The only thing was that no one heeded the "single", "double", "triple", "quad" signs, which made it kind of a difficult process for the line leader. I was ambitious in thinking I'd make up the time I had missed in the morning by skiing until 10pm (they are open that late because they offer night skiing), but it got way too cold for me. The snow was nice, but expect it to be really cold. Maybe I've just been spoiled by spring skiing all my life. Winter skiing is a whole different game. The food here is decent, but they ran out of things really early. The fries and soup and chili looked good, but I got the soba noddle soup. It was the weirdest soba I've ever had. It came with raw spinach, bell pepper and onion. They were out of almost everything else... so bring your own food unless you are ok eating weird soba or soup and fries. I'd suggest only coming to Stevens if you have your own gear and a season pass, you don't want to spend a ridiculous amount of time waiting in line like I did. :/ read more

Love this mountain, especially on snow days with fresh powder on their groomed slopes. They've hiked up their prices though since being bought by Vail Resorts (owner of Whistler Blackcomb). They no longer sell discount tickets on certain websites like ticketsatwork. They also do not sell their night skiing tickets online anymore. Parking too is a pain here. Unless you show up before 8 am or After 2 pm, there's a high chance of you having to turn back because of the lack of parking spots available. The whole rental process here though is pretty seemless, they even put on your boots for you which is the best part! I absolutely hate wearing my ski boots. read more

The main reason we bought Epic local passes for the 2020-2021 season was because Vail heavily prorated the price to make up for last year when the unknowns of Covid shut the resort down prematurely. It's nice that skiing in general has been one of the more normal-ish things to look forward to in an upside down year, but I don't necessarily look forward to skiing at Steven's anymore. (For context: My husband and I pretty much just ski and leave. We didn't eat at any of the restaurants this year, nor did we rent, or taken lessons.) The lift lines were long even on weekdays. The backside opened late, or more frequently, it didn't open at all. I've heard that this is due to the record amounts of snowfall this year as well as an understaffed avalanche control team. (However I don't know how much truth there is to that.) Additionally, traffic jams on Highway 2 can be brutal. And vail's reservation system has its flaws, although it did seem to help control the parking situation this year. The runs themselves are great especially if the backside is open, and if you know the mountain and where to find pockets of powder. For awhile this was the only resort we skied at, but out of curiosity we recently started skiing at other resorts in the area. Now that we know, I think we'll be going elsewhere in the future. It might cost more, but I've been disappointed with Steven's, I'm tired of the highway 2 backups, and after years of being a vail/steven's patron...I'm just ready for a change. It'll be interesting to see what happens next year now that they've lowered the price of the season pass. [P.S. Gregory Scruggs just wrote an article for the Seattle Times (titled, who's winning the battle of the Cascade ski resorts) that compares Steven's and Crystal. It is worth a read and gives a bit of insight as to why Steven's is the way it is, so to speak. (For instance, apparently almost every chairlift at Steven's requires avalanche mitigation, which explains some things.) read more

Our first planned snow trip was a success! Bought most of our gear from Amazon and the rest was lended to us by family up in Seattle. I dropped my son off at an all day class where he would enjoy playing with snow and learning how to ski. Then I took my husband to a beginners snow boarding class. We got geared up and waited for class to begin. It was more of a refresher to me but hubbs caught on very fast! He was over the bunny hills and ready for black diamond! Our instructor was really cool. I struggled to lug my board all the way down to this flat escalator thing and he made sure I didn't get lost. So sorry for holding up the class! We learned a few new tricks. It was a different experience from my first snowboarding class at Mt. Charleston. We both had a great time! We asked where other places we could snowboard and he mentioned somewhere in Oregon. But we are thinking Lake Tahoe next! Picked up my son less than an hour before class ended so we could all go up to the ski lodge and warm up! Hot cocoa and good company. Tables were a bit crowded but we were able to get seats. They serve alcohol apparently. read more

Want to overpay? Love waiting to park? Do you enjoy being treated like a criminal by employees? Vail's Stevens Pass is for you! Hate microwaves!? Good, they're gone! Brought your own food? Go eat in the other lodge, it doesn't matter if your party isn't there. You buy their food or get out. Love being told the conditions are snowy and groomed only to discover it's sheets of ice? This is your place! Last night was terrible. Conditions on the website showed that it was going to be a good night, maybe not the best, but good. After we went up once and determined it was too dangerous and slick to keep going, and then split up to check the other lifts, it was all terrible. They must have had a lot of complaints because we were told that we couldn't get a refund and that the vail computer system won't actually do refunds ever, it's policy. Liars. We got a refund after complaining a second time. Some friends of ours did the same, complained and got a refund. The clerk told them "Don't ever come back here asking for a refund again, this is the only time I'm going to give you one" Wow. What else are you going to do? Big business owns the mountain. Sneak in food, booze, and only go at night. That's the only way to beat this mountain. read more

I'm sad to be writing this review, because it doesn't reflect my usual experience, but the experience I had today. Usually I love my experience at Stevens. From the parking staff to the lift crew to the fellow boarders, I always get a good vibe. Today when I was purchasing my lift ticket, I used my government VA ID as I've done many times in the past, but the guest service guy (older, salt/pepper hair, in the middle booth facing east) was extremely rude and condescending to all Veterans and VA service members. He lectured me on how veterans administration (DoVA) is not the same as DoD, and that we don't deserve to have the same privileges! He had the nerve to tell me, "not to be offensive, but who knows with VA employees, all the ID is good for us getting on bases, like air condition service workers." I was floored and very offended! I work at the Veterans Hospital, serving veterans. How can you tell me my work is not as important as a DoD employee just because I'm DoVA?! I believe care for the veterans are most important & healthcare workers should be appreciated! I encourage Stevens to review their policies and include DoVA service members! I save veterans lives and limbs on a daily basis, I think I deserve a little more respect then how I was treated. I left feeling very insulated! Luckily the snow was nice and the rest of my day will not be ruined by one rude guest service employee. Wish I got his name! read more

We came here last year and this was the first time I've seen snow up close! So, of course, I was the guy sitting in the car for an extra 5 minutes trying to get myself ready to head out. Opened the door and closed it again. FRICK. IT'S COLD! Once I grew a pair, I manned up to the occasion and took a walk with my buddies to the rental shop. The shop was warm and reminded me a bit of the ice rink back in Hawaii since they had all the lockers and stuff ready for you to store your stuff in. I filled out the form once we got in and got my boots. Then we shoved all our personals into the lockers which were also pretty clean for something that holds people's shoes every day. I paid the daily fee for the board and boot rental at the register (no lift ticket). We headed towards the back of the room to grab our boards after that. The guy there was really helpful. First question of course was, "Is this your first time snowboarding?" - "Yes" "Where are you from?" - "Hawaii" "Oh? So do you surf?" - "I've tried" "Which way do you stand on the board? Regular or Goofie?" - "Regular" ...and that was it! He measured us up for a board of the proper length and then that was it. We headed out for, well, my first time snowboarding. I'm not sure about everyone else. It took me a while to pick up on the standing thing, but I felt like I could run before I could walk. Luckily, my friend's buddy was convinced I was ready for a mountain run after about an hour on a "bunny slope" and I headed up on the lift (which was also VERY COLD). Since it was my first time on one, I wasn't really sure how to get off. You're allowed to signal to the conductor to slow it down as you get ready to get off. So my friend did that for me. I still fell, but at least I got at least 5 feet of distance before i did! I rode down the mountain like a BOSS! I think I only fell once, but you know us hawaiians, brah. Johnny Tsunami style. Got right back up and finished the run. It was seriously an experience of a lifetime. I wanted some more but the sun was ready to set (and it was only 4:30!) I'd recommend coming here if the drive is not too much of a hassle for you. Two hours may not seem like a long drive to a lot of people, but being that it was our first day there and we live on an island, it was a LONG drive from Seattle. I loved the customer service and the equipment was pretty top notch. I'll definitely go back again some day. The only problem I have is that the lift ticket is a little too expensive for me. I think you need to go really early to make it worth while. read more

The website claimed 80% of runs to be opened. 3 chairs opened, 45 minutes late. Lines were incredibly long. Their claim was low employee turnout. Yet refused me any discount or replacement ticket. Stevens Pass has gone downhill since Vail took over back in 2018. I kept trying to give them a chance year after year to prove themselves since I grew up snowboarding on this mountain and love the terrain, but the Vail management just keeps getting worse, with red flags galore... and this year tops it. Since vail took over, lift ticket prices have sky rocketed, food portions and quality decreased despite increasing food prices even pre-COVID inflation, massive lift lines because they removed the automatic ticket scanning gates just so attendants could use SLOWER handheld scanners, parking is a massive headache unless you show up way before open, and most importantly... they've displayed an inability to open the mountain and actually spin the lifts. Vail ruined Stevens Pass with their greed and mismanagement. About 5 days ago a petition against Vail was created to hold them accountable for ruining a once loved and treasured resort: https://www.change.org/p/vail-resorts-hold-vail-resorts-accountable?redirect=false. As I write this review, over 25,000 others have signed the petition. Now I boycott Stevens Pass like the plague because it's just not worth my time or money.
