I was referred to Dr. Greenbaum by my Las Vegas dermatologist so my expectations were set above average because the west coast offices have set my bar high with their greatness! Upon my arrival while waiting 30 minutes beyond my appt time, I felt like I was in a Planned Parenthood or a business run by donations because it was a dreary and drab type of ambiance with no color other than light khaki brown monotone hues; I stayed positive in hopes it would be a diamond in the rough.
Finally in the room, the technician was friendly and verbose and answered all of my questions and then clipped a paper towel over my chest, tilted the dentist-like chair back and began. She did not prep my face but just started the microdermabrasion process. She continued talking to me while I laid at an incline and sand particles fell into my mouth. After the process, she applied an antioxidant cream on my face and showed me where the old sink, paper towels, gauze, face wash and face lotion was and to take my time. (seriously the procedure costs $150 and I am handed gauze and paper towels not even a nice hand towel???) After 2 minutes as I sit in the erect dentist chair enjoying the cold cream on my sanded skin, the technician politely urged me into washing my face and finally rushed me into another room while I was in the middle of wiping my face because she had a laser appt to get to. (It was 2:27pm and I hadn't even been in the room 30 minutes and most sessions are appointed for 1 hr). I do not mind the poor service, but for the $150 price, I expected to receive respectful customer service, face prep and a facial type cleansing/final lookover, in addition to as pleasant an experience that microdermabrasion can be . This was horrible!
The next day, I called to complain to the supervisor and her response was "Mondays are very busy so maybe try coming on a Tuesday next time." It shouldn't matter what day of the week any customer has an appointment but during the time I am paying you, I should get proper attention and treatment! I am new customer and my time and experience should have been a positive one. Your being busy is not my problem but a great one for you to have.
Here's what I was expecting: An aesthetically pleasing ambiance upon arrival and attended to in a more timely manner. Instead of a hard cushion dentist chair, a soft bed would have been nice so sand wouldn't have fallen in my cleavage and mouth (I had sand particles in my cleavage until I showered later that evening). Would have been nice for the technician to have cleaned and prepped my skin before the microderm procedure. Then after all the sanding, a facial cleanse by the technician followed by a final lookover for whiteheads or blackheads, next face lotion application by the technician while I remain laying on my back on the soft bed. Even relaxing music in the background would have been soothing during this abrasive procedure. To correct the phone complaint, a credit towards another procedure so as to redeem themselves and to make my next experience a positive one so I become a client and share positivity about the place instead of negative feed back. I do not suggest Dr. Greenbaum's office for facial procedures; maybe this is standard for Philadelphia, but step up your game because dermatologist offices on the west coast are killing it! read more
