I tore my ACL in April, had surgery in late May and am back to walking normally now in July. Though he is the Phillies head physician he was down to earth and extremely helpful. Obviously he is a wonderful surgeon based on how my knee is feeling now. Would definitely highly recommend him to others needing to see an orthopedist.

The first time I went i had a peroneal nerve injury at the top of my fibular head. He could not diagnose and and gave me a cortisone injection which took the pain away for about a day. I had to go to another doctor to figure out what was happening. around 8 years later I went back to him b/c I had severe pain in both of my knees after hurting them both playing basketball one day. I had gone to one doctor Larry Miller who had done minor scopes on my right and left knees earlier and Dr. Miller could not figure out what was wrong. I was in tremendous pain and limping with both legs depending on the day. Dr. Ciccotti could not figure out what the problem was either. I then had to go to Dr. Mitch Friendman also of Jefferson who told me that all the problems were in my head and that there was nothing wrong with me. I then went to a 4th doctor in Farmington, CT to get a 4th opinion. I then sent my MRIs to a 5th doctor, Keith Meister (the orthopedic surgeon of the Texas Rangers Baseball Club who also verified that I had a tear of some sort in my right knee. I then went back to Dr. Ciccotti to see if he would do the surgery and he declined saying that he would not perform surgery on a knee that was previously operated on... I then went back to Dr., Meister and he recommended Dr. Paul Sethi of Greenwich, CT. Seeing all of these doctors was over an 8 month period while I was in severe pain and depressed that the first 3 told me there was nothing wrong with me or that they couldn't find anything wrong. I I went up and saw Paul Sethi and he took a half hour with me to talk about what he saw on the MRIs. He said that there was definitely a cartilage tear and maybe a severe one in my right knee and that I might have had a minor tear of my later meniscus in my left knee. He said he could not promise me anything, but that he would do my best. When he went into my right knee he not only saw a tear of the right lateral meniiscus and a tear of the artitular cartelige that lines the femor in a weight bearing area. A part of the meniscus had torn off and rolled up into a little ball which caused the tear of the articular cartilage as well. He performed Microfracture surgery as well. I was on crutches for 5 week while I still needed surgery on my left knee. It took me 18 months for my rehab on my right knee to recover. I then had surgery on my right knee and it had a 5% lateral meniscus tear. Paul Sethi was with me the whole way while Dr. Ciccotti didn't even really try to help me. It's kind of frustrating to be a baseball agent and rooting for the Phillies your whole life and then to have the team Orthopedist not know what to do and then not want to help you. I am so lucky to have had Dr. Meister and Dr. Sethi take the time out and really help me when I need them. This review should really be one star, but that would be really vindictive. Well... this is my story. I am sure Dr. Ciccotti has helped many get back to health. He just didn't help me.

Wide eyed and bushy tailed, I walked into my initial consultation several years ago and inquired about breast implants. I was determined to not have scars (shame on me for not doing more research; however, I trusted the "professionals"). They're great until something goes wrong or you are unhappy. First of all, under the armpit incisions are not the best way to go about putting something into the chest cavity. I mentioned I had some nerve damage and couldn't feel my entire arm down to my pinky for a year post procedure and was told this was caused by something else (not true) it was nerve damage from the implants, which has left me with numbness and arm pain to this day. The implants were also slightly squished after getting an MRI and were too large for my body as a whole. Almost immediately after I had this procedure, I experienced a wide array of symptoms, starting with the nerve damage, numbness and hair loss. I was a bodybuilder prior to the procedure and afterwards, could not do push ups or chest workouts anymore due to the damage they caused. The implant would freeze and almost cramp on the side I had issues with. After three years of Breast Implant Illness symptoms and nearly my entire body shutting down, I knew I had to do something after ruling nearly everything else out. I called and asked if Dr. Lo did implant removal and was told I could come in for a consultation. At this point, I was desperate to just have my life back. It was so bad that I could barely walk some days - from brain inflammation, to mitochondrial damage, hair loss, food allergies, brain fog, the list goes - Breast Implant Illness IS REAL. I went in for my consultation and was nearly in tears because I could hardly function and never knew what the day would bring only to have Dr. Lo smirk and mock what I was telling him. I said "are you mocking me?" And he stated he is a traditional doctor and treats symptoms. He said he could do the removal then back tracked and referred me to someone else (who I did not go to because any referral from a Doctor who mocks and laughs at you in a time of need is not one I would trust). His bedside manner during a time of distress and desperation was deplorable. My mother was in the room with me and she was nearly in tears afterward with the way he spoke and belittled my reality. I am floored that this is the way he treated someone who simply wanted to know the options for removal. There are tens of thousands of women whose bodies reject implants and if a doctor is too ignorant to recognize this then I would walk the other way. I would never recommend him to anyone. I ended up having them removed with a doctor in Bucks County and finally have my life back. YES the SYMPTOMS that you claim to "treat" have diminished and some completely disappeared already. If you treat "symptoms" then understand THE IMPLANTS were the issue because I feel like a human being again and everything has nearly gone away six months later. Wake up to the reality that implants are not safe and check your bedside manner.

And now my body is functioning normally! But Dr. Sloane didn't stop there. As a precaution, he is sending mt to a get a ultrasound just to make sure all is well. Clearly really experienced, talked through all the details, things to look out for, etc; helped us understand how to think about what was important, rather than the textbook, neutral answers we've been getting from too many other doctors lately. The procedure itself was super easy; he talked me through what would happen and then what was happening, and checked in regarding pain and sensation along the way. Recovery has been way easier than I thought; only a tiny bit of swelling, the expected discomfort, but not painful. Overall, just a really great experience. The office staff was easy to schedule with, clear about availability, and flexible when I had to shuffle some things around. Other offices I called were hard to get through with, had distant availability, did vasectomies one day a month, couldn't confirm how long after a consultation I'd actually be able to book a procedure, had web forms that went no where, put me on hold for 30 minutes before terminating the call, etc. The one thing they need to work on is their tech -- email confirmations/calendar appointments and electronic docs or links instead of printouts (maybe they do this, but it wasn't apparent/offered?); the site has links to a patient portal, but it doesn't seem to work; they have a robo-caller call to confirm appointments, but it doesn't leave voicemails, so it just looks like you missed a call from the office. Anyway, thanks to Dr. Sloane & staff for making that easier than I expected!

After finding out this wasn't the case, every doctor or orthopedic I saw they said they couldn't perform that particular operation but knew of someone who could. This was even told to me by the person who performed my original hernia. Each time I looked at the name they gave me it said Bill Myers. Bill Myers serviced the NFL,NBA MLB and NHL. With the I realized he didn't accept any insurance because these athletic teams would just pay cash and put way more money in his pocket.I even new the man that he took golf lessons from and Bill personally called me at dinnertime. I'm just a Union Bricklayer and 12 or 14 grand was a lot of money. I'm sure its much more now. When he called me for a consult I had no expectations. So he said bring 500 bucks and be there at a certain time to be evaluated He said to me you definitely have a sports hernia when do you want to get it done. I asked how much and he told me the same number as before. I wasn't looking for discount but I was hoping I could maybe get on a payment plan but that was something he didn't entertain. Complete waste of my time. Instead of just handing this guy the money he wanted for the procedure,I took my time and called across the country in order to find someone else who could perform the job. I got word another guy in my backyard could also do the job. His name was DR Alan SCHURICHT. I had already called PENN Hospital on 8th and Walnut in downtown Philly. When I asked why so secretive they said if not everybody with jock itch would be here. After sending all my test results and a 30 minute consult we were set up the following week to do the procedure. I was back to doing light squats in 3 weeks while my insurance was welcomed How about that a workingman has his insurance accepted so he can get back to his job. It turns out Sports hernia is just a street name for the injury that Doctors called sports hernia because its a newer injury that lots of athletes were getting that had no name. At the time it was considered exploratory because it was a new. Im pretty sure it was some kind of tear so insurance companies didn't consider it a hernia and therefore didn't know where the injury fit into the insurance coverage part of the business.ALAN SCHURICHT WAS A CLASS ACT AND WOULD BE THE FIRST OPTION FOR ME BECAUSE THE QUALITY OF HIS SERVICE WAS AWESOME. He was a Class act just a nice guy. Im a lil late on my review but I would love to hear what others may have gone through in order to get this procedure done.

I met with the anesthesiologist I met with the nurse and then a little while later a doctor came in his name was Dr. Monjo Ahmed, first I need to tell you he was not the scheduled doctor for me. I don't know why the other doctor did not come in, but he said he was doing my procedure. He then proceeded to ask me if I had questions I said no I've been through this many times, he said OK sign here and walked out. That was the only time I saw this Dr I was a little bit nervous anesthesia gave me something to calm my nerves down and next thing I remember I was waking up in the bed and excruciating pain in my groin. I remember telling the nurse that I have a lot of pain and she said oh honey, it's just gas. I proceeded to tell her that it was not gas. I've had this done before this is worse than gas then she proceeded to grab my husband and bring him back. Help me get dressed while we were getting dressed. She then walks over with a wheelchair and says you're good to go that Dr never came in to talk to me afterwards never said anything. She proceeds to take me downstairs to the valet parking puts the brakes on the wheelchair and walked away. I was left there alone for about 10 minutes waiting for my husband to come with the car. My husband comes, then wheels me over to the car and I got up out of the wheelchair screaming crying in excruciating pain and I told my husband something is wrong. I don't know what's going on, but I am in a lot of pain there shouldn't be, so he said it took me about 20 minutes to get into the car from then on. I was at the ER three times. I was at many doctor visits trying to figure out what was going on the pain was getting worse I could not walk. I was pretty much bound to bed and in a chair. I could not work. I didn't know what was going on with me . It took me six weeks of begging the ortho doctor to do an MRI once I had the MRI results I was told that my pelvic bone was broken in two spots and this was most likely from the colonoscopy. The doctor said that they must've dropped me during the procedure . But in between the six weeks of waiting and trying to figure out what was going on, I did call Dr. Ahmed two times and asked him what happened to me during this procedure. He then said "nothing OK bye-bye" and then he hung up. He would not talk to me. He did not give me answers since then. My life has been hell I developed blood clots in my lungs. I was hospitalized. I am on blood thinners, which I've never been on before. All I did was go in for a simple procedure . I am so upset with this hospital. I've never been treated this horrible before I advise anybody go in there not to go! The worst part, is Jefferson's insurance company said I came in this way, which was a huge lie!
