Have an idea you just know the market needs? Feel very inventy yet have no idea the first thing…read moreabout how to bring your creative genius ideas and or inventions to life? Yep me too. There truly is only so much the average unseasoned person in a situation like mine can and probably should do when navigating the seas of patents. It's a tricky thing with time limits which begin to tick and run out the clock once you either speak out loud or officially file your patent application with the USPTO. I found myself in a situation in which I'd already filed the original provisional patent app with the USPTO and had let it expire by not converting it to non-provisional. This creates a beyond complicated situation and leaves one rather out in the cold and completely unprotected. Time to call an attorney. So I did. At first ring Rohit himself picked up the phone. He clarified that he doesn't offer a free consult yet offered to speak to me for 15 minutes which I graciously accepted. He was upfront and brutally honest and I appreciated the hell out of that. He spoke with me for about 15 minutes answering and explainied directly the options I had based on the info I gave him. It was enough for me to make an educated decision. Priceless! This was a fabulous thing for me! Closure whooho! Couldn't recommend him more :)

In our infancy, he dove into our larger vision and granular concepts in order to truly understand what we perceived to be our underlying magic. Chris was patient in our admitted naivety in intellectual property law. He guided us through the provisional patent process while laying out a long range strategy for multiple patent applications. When we were initially rejected he didn't panic one bit. (I did, of course.. But his calm was reassuring.) He jousted with our USPTO examiner and clearly explained his strategy back to us throughout the process. Sure enough, Chris delivered multiple software utility patents to our company and we have a third on the way. This past spring our company was acquired in part because our patents fit so well in the parent company's patent portfolio. Our company gave them new market penetration... with protection. This increased our sale price. I cannot recommend Chris enough if you are a start-up looking to secure intellectual property. He is smart, fair, kind, and most importantly, he knows how to play the game... and win! Thank you, Chris! I'll see you on our next venture!

His gatekeeper Abby will never let you through after you pay them They take your money and either do nothing or do very poor work. Many of us have done so. The more filed, the more DOJ will consider criminal action. Sue them in small claims. You do not have to go to arbitration despite the contract verbiage. But they will try. They will threaten you as they have done to me. Don't be fooled. The contract language about "disparagement" is unenforceable. Interesting they even included language about that. With many dozen horrible reviews all basically complaining about the same thing, why risk it? There are may great patent attorneys. RUN! UPDATE: He called me a lar like he did with the dozens of others who have remarkably similar complaints. We can't all be liars. The USPTO complaint is open and I was informed the government is about to take action. When they do, I will post photos of correspondence here.

As a result, they keep winning the argument with the examiner every time. One important value of this group is that they understand technology, software, Internet, AI - there seems to be no complex technological matters that they wouldn't be able to describe properly for USPTO. If your invention fits into any of these areas, Bay Area IP should be on the top of your list of patent firms.

I paid $8631 and received plagiarized work from an unrelated patent…read more I contacted Dergosits and Noah in late August 2021 for assistance with a Machine Learning patent. We emailed regarding similar AI patents including randomized algorithms and image augmentation. Dataset generation techniques that were similar to my own patent application were also discussed. By March, they produced a 16 page revision of my 10 page patent description along with some diagrams that they drew. Turns out, large portions of the revision were copied from that an unrelated internet protocol patent. My patent which pertains exclusively to offline Machine Learning Datasets was revised to include long sections related to networking hardware, network directory nodes, and various internet protocols. At least one of the diagrams were also copied from the same internet protocol patent. I emailed two angry rants and received an excuse that I did not provide hardware information so they had to find it on their own. Even after I had previously sent 3 different drafts, they never requested it. None of the similar patents we discussed included that hardware information either so it was clear they were just making up any possible excuse to avoid accepting blame. And the hardware additions they chose to include were completely unrelated to my patent and was included without my prior notification nor consent and was almost completely plagiarized. I still had to pay for everything regardless. I am upset at losing $8631. I am more upset at losing 7 months of time spent and having to start over with another firm. Find a more reputable firm.

I really figured (naïvely) that it wouldn't be too hard and I could do it myself. When I started to look into it on the USPTO website, I nearly had an aneurysm. What a nightmare. I searched online for trademark attorneys here in the city. Most don't seem to do trademarks and things, which I think is weird. I found this firm, called the number and spoke to an attorney named Joanne. Extremely helpful, extremely knowledgeable, and very nice to talk to. Did a phone consultation with her, then sent all my details to her. They did the trade mark search, patent search and gave me a bunch of options. I picked out the one that best suited me and let them do their thing. I got constant updates from them. They called when they said they would, and felt very happy that they gave me options to choose from, instead of saying "You need this, and this, and this"... They were very honest and genuine.
