Hired Julia through finding her on Yelp with glowing reviews. We did NOT use her Yelp deal, and hired her to get a case dismissed with the DA. I understand why everyone says she is easy to talk to - she has to be in order for you to hire her. Classic salesman tactics. We hired her with the understanding she was going to speak with the DA to attempt to dismiss our case. Subsequently, we were told the case was dismissed, and were thrilled. However, a week later, I received a letter in the mail stating the case went to "neighborhood courts". This is essentially admitting guilt and bargaining for community service, which we were not guilty. Julia claimed she must've "received the wrong dismissal code". It sounds like she simply talked to a clerk to see if our names were up for court, and assumed we were dismissed. After lengthy email exchanges, including a rather unprofessional remark from her, she agreed to give us back 25% of the retainer fee (less than her Yelp deal). We are still dealing with the case with new representation as Julia's service was unsatisfactory. +1 star for her email response time, otherwise it would be a 1 star review. read more

Keeping in my usual form I only rate on three things, with as few words as possible! (for future reference): Location, Person/ People, Edible Stuff availability. For those of you who know the city, you know Jayne's office is in a prime location 4 blocks from Montgomery or Embarcadero Muni/ Bart Station. So grabbing a bite after your meeting at her office is very convenient. Attorney Julia Mezhinsky Jayne is very different than other attorney's that I had contacted during this search process. I was very surprised that she would personally answer her calls almost every time I dialed her office. I was patched through to voicemail maybe once when she was, "actually" in a meeting. That in and of itself was very impressive. When I contacted her I was dealing with a roommate that was trying to blame me for something that I had not done. I called her and she went beyond and above the call of duty to help me. Jayne was straight up, communicative, and cool headed, she strives to make magic happen without ever setting foot in a court room, and when she does, I imagine she really exceeds expectations. She was quick and responsive to my questions and didn't waste my time. Thankfully the situation with my roommate has been resolved. If I have to deal with this person ever again she will be the first person I call. There is a reason this lady has been selected as a Rising Star in the legal community 4 years in a row, she is a damn good attorney and she knows her stuff.
