I have a contract with the business owner, Steven Hunter Phillips, Of Steven Phillips, LLC, and have paid him in full although he had not completed the caulking or installing roughly 240' of fascia metal over existing wood fascia board. Hunter promised he would send his painter, Devan who is his best friend high school, to finish the caulking and that he would return to install the fascia metal when the house was painted.
We entered into contract in early January. On January 5, 2022 Hunter sent an employee to my condo in Navarre, FL to pick up a down payment for siding installation, caulk and make ready for paint, and covering fascia board with metal. The crew made a couple of errors, which I had drawings for and/or had talked to Hunter about prior to starting the installation. (Later Hunter accused me of having his crew do extra work not associated with the contract.) They finished the siding, but not the caulking or fascia board metal. Hunter came to the job site in Gulf Breeze, FL on January 14, 2022 to "pick up the check for the remaining balance." He promised he wold have Devan finish the caulking and his crew would return to install the metal fascia. On January 19, I texted Hunter and asked him to come by and look at a couple areas where I found the cuts could have been better in order to reduce the opening that would require caulk the size of my finger. He accused me of "Knit Picking." I returned to my home in North Carolina in mid-January. Hunter never sent Devan to finish the caulking and wouldn't do it in a timely manner when asked on May 2. 2022. Hunter had over 3 months to finish the caulking so I could move forward with painting. I ended up having to pay another painter to finish the caulking. As of today, July 20, 2022, he hasn't returned my emails, texts, or phone calls requesting he schedule the fascia metal installation for sometime between November 17, 2022 and September 1, 2022.
Since I can't select no stars, I'll select 1 star. When a business steals from a client, they don't deserve any stars. I will see him in court for not complying with our contractural agreement. read more
