It became clear that their company's ethos was grounded in honest work with a commitment to providing a solid roofing product. The Elmer Cook team diligently completed our 1800 sq ft Okaloosa Island home in less than a week (metal roof over shingle), while minimizing disturbance to our yard. They worked from 7 to 7 everyday, and it's pretty clear that their guys actually enjoy the work. The final product is impeccable. When the county inspector arrived a week after completion, he made the following remarks: "Well... it's not hard to tell that this is an Elmer Cook Roof, every screw is centered just right." I called Mr. E., the company representative, at 9:00 on Monday; we met before lunch on Monday. Mr. E. took many photographs of the roof, both of the problem area and of other areas that would turn into problems if I didn't do anything about them, and gave me a detailed explanation. His crew came the next Saturday and fixed the problem. I showed up later in the day and just missed them. Apart from the obviously repaired section of the roof there was no trace that they had been there; they had cleaned up everything completely. I texted Mr. E. and because he was still in the area he came by to receive his payment. He had more photographs and detailed explanations of what the repair crew had done. I am thoroughly pleased.

Three…read moredays later siding is falling off and they refuse to adjust the bill to have it completed by a reputable company. They may know roofing but don't let them near your siding job! Been dealing with this company since December. Supposed to do my siding, shutters and skirting but still haven't completed any. They put up 90% of the siding and about 80% of the skirting and no shutters. They cut through my electrical 3 times while replacing sheathing before they put up siding. Would not have fixed it had my husband not been home to make them. Had to argue to have rotten sheathing even replaced, they wanted to Tyvek over it. They left trash, building debris, cigarette butts and empty packs all over my porch and yard. I have not heard from them in over a week despite calling and texting 3 different numbers multiple times. Save yourself the headache I have experienced, do NOT hire this company.

The subsequent active leak damaged the inner wall. Alex Daugherty refused to honor his work warranty, stating catagorically there was nothing wrong with their workmanship due to the roof being new. Inspections throughout the ensuing insurance claim revealed the workmanship to be sub-par. Another contractor repaired the flawed roofing. Due to Alex Daugherty's unfortunate decisions, I am no longer able to recommend his services.

Family owned and operated and that makes the difference. I had a construction company and worked on many jobs around the U.S having to deal with many different contractors and their crews and that said, I was very impressed with Alex's & Max's crew with A&M roofing. I'm extremely satisfied with their crew who were all nice, respectful and friendly and they all worked great together & were constantly working, no smoking or looking at the cell phones. They even had a crew on the ground that constantly kept up with trash and any stray nails and they completely covered my pool that was close to my home and were careful around my landscaping and flowers. I needed a roof quickly due to a quick sale of the home and the buyer wanting to close in 14 days. I spoke with Alex over the phone and he was able to answerer every question i had, and i always have a bunch and after confirming the great price with Alex and picking the color on Thursday he had the shingles delivered Friday and we were able to arrange his schedule and get me done immediately which in it's self was impressive. They were even willing to come on the weekend to get it done and i told him Tuesday would be fine I wanted to be on site during the job. He was on top of getting the permits done and completed for the sale of the home. Very impressed. The price was great and didn't nickel and dime me. The roof had a sun roof and A&M took it completely out cleaned it up and resealed it completely. i mention this because i have seen "other company's just reroof around them. I told my neighbor and he liked the job A&M did as well and got them to do his roof. He's retired military and likes things done very precisely too. I have a house in Navarre and i'm going to have them do that roof as well. With A&M being family owned you are dealing with the owners and not a bunch of different people, less over head. But with no secretary's or salesmen when you do call A&M roofing you may need to leave a message and Alex will return your call. Differently worth the wait. I was with the crew from start to finish watching the job and rest assure -search no more- A&M is the roofing company you want for your home.
