This was some of the best fried fish I've had, if we're talking about just the fish itself. The breading is solid - going with a hot level of spice meant there was a good amount of seasoning on top, but I wouldn't classify it as spicy. It was crunchy at points, but missing the flakiness and true crunch I'd associated with top-tier fried fish. However, where it makes up for this is how good the inside of the fish is. This was spectacular - crazy moist, super tender, and just tasted fantastic. The complete opposite of that rubbery texture you get when you overfry the fish. The sauce that came with the fish was a little bland, however As for the sides, I thought the mac and cheese was really good - cheesy, slightly crispy on top, and cooked very well. I also liked the grits - though a bit buttery. The fries were a miss though. For the price, I think around 25 for the meal and a side is a solid deal. The sides especially come with pretty large portion size that will leave you very full. Overall, this is very good Southern food that I certainly enjoyed. 8.5/10

I liked the chicken but I personally wouldn't pay for it again. The best tasting part of the meal was the cornbread but you barely get any of it. I liked the mac and cheese as the best value of the entire order. To caveat this, we did order out, so I'd like to return and update my review soon with a dine-in test. The takeout takes quite a long while and it's pretty cramped inside the actual restaurant especially to wait, so I'd highly recommend ordering ahead of time online.

This seemed…read morelike a great option because it meant that my husband and I could order different meals but still eat them together. There were only 5 different food stalls plus the ice cream stall in the very front, however only 3 of the food stalls were open at 7pm on a Saturday. This is a small town, so I get it, but I was thoroughly surprised at this because of how crowded the entire town had been all weekend (it was truly the perfect weather to be out here!). The taco food stall had some Mac and cheese that I really wanted, but he was so overwhelmed with making a large order with only one person helping him that he literally told me to come back in 30 minutes to place my order. I ended up ordering the Pimento Grilled Cheese Sandwich from the burger place, where the guy (working solo) told me it would take about 30 minutes before it would be ready. We were in no rush, and it was DEFINITELY worth the wait!! The ooey gooey cheese paired with perfectly browned Texas toast satisfied my hunger after a long day of hiking and window shopping. My husband ordered the Paneer Kati Roll + Mango Lassi from the Indian food stall. He liked the roll, however we both decided that the lassi was average at best. Additionally, they served it with ice which was a huge disappointment (**being that my husband is from India, we have standards regarding Indian food). I'm giving 4 stars because the overall atmosphere of this food hall was not the best... Definitely NOT enough seating... They didn't seem to have anyone on staff taking care of the place, so the two tables that were empty when we arrived were extremely dirty (we cleaned one ourselves). They also didn't have napkins readily available and only 2 individual restrooms, despite having a bar in the back. Also, it was SO DARK inside... Scarce lighting which was not very pleasant or welcoming, especially since the sun was shining brightly outside. There is an outdoor patio, which is great, however because the weather was nice it was completely full. Final thoughts: this is a great place to grab lunch or dinner with a group of friends, especially if no one can agree on where to go. There's a variety of options and something for everyone to enjoy!

It's calm, quiet, and not packed. Around 10pm, this place turns absolutely nuts with post-theater crowds. The restaurant is small, warm, and cozy, with lots of wood accents that give it a classic, old-school vibe. Drinks are solid--I went with a Mexican mule, which hit the spot. For my main, I ordered the beef short rib roast with mashed potatoes. OMG. Incredibly tender and packed with flavor--easily one of the best things I ate in NYC. My buddy ordered the liver. I tried it and thought it was horrible... but he loved it and said it was one of the best he's ever had. To each their own. Our waiter was funny and entertaining, which honestly made the whole experience even better without being over the top. This ended up being one of my favorite meals in New York, and I'll absolutely be back the next time I'm in town again.

It has posters of Broadway flops on the walls adding to the theater vibe. Service is quick and professional. Well crafted drinks, well worth it. Food has a traditional slant. Burgers, grilled chicken, Pan-roasted Trout Almondine, a vegetarian entree, Curried Vegetable Stew, and a bit unusual, Sauteed Calves Liver. Good, solid food. Large portions, none of us had an appetizer or dessert. Two criticisms: first, the tables are sort of jammed together, which isn't unusual in Manhattan, but the chairs are somewhat uncomfortable; second, while you can get bread, but you have to ask for it, which at midtown prices, I find a bit cheap. Pricing is typical for the area. The entrees, other than vegetarian, are between $30 to $42, while the appetizers are about a third cheaper. You come here to be near Broadway, have a great drink and enjoy the ambiance, the food is solid but not the attraction.

The show itself is extremely funny, and kudos to the (small) cast that manage to do a lot as a quartet, along with a very talented piano player to back them up. For those who don't know, this is a great parody of current Broadway shows (or ones that recently folded). I can't say enough about just how funny the parody of the Les Miz movie cracked me up. The spoof of Russell Crowe's singing was hilarious. Many shows also didn't escape unscathed. Who can forget the awesomely takes on Once, Annie, Evita and the Al Pacino/Philip Seymour Hoffman shtick was insane. If you want to check out a real gem - you have to make it a point to see this show (especially if you're really into Broadway musicals, or have some knowledge of what's playing right now). I knew things were going to be good when the music started and the piano player kicked things off while playing under a big plastic tarp. The theater itself is small, but the venue is intimate and fun. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I was also surprised at how clean the bathrooms were for such an old/small theater. Don't miss this show if you're looking for something different, but fun, in the neighborhood!

Noise levels were on the higher end and you had to speak loudly to hear the other person across the table! José our server was friendly, attentive, and quick with his service. This is a very kid friendly place - so highly recommended for families with kids. At the same time, a great place for date night too. An extremely well priced menu, with great options is how I'd describe their menu. Our order consisted of Crostini Misti ($10.50), Calamari ($18), Funghi di Prato ($12.50) - an excellent mushroom salad, for appetizers. Mains included a very tasty (and slightly cheesy) Spinach Gnocchi ($18.50), Penne Arrabiata ($16), and Tagliatelle al Ragu ($18). Kids thoroughly enjoyed their butter pasta which they polished within a few mins! Overall, we had a great time at this place, and I can clearly see Malatesta become our go-to Italian dinner place on weekdays or weekends. It's got a homey vibe that makes it a great place for groups! While the servers were nice, it felt like we were being rushed through our meal, with them starting to remove plates that we were still eating from, which wasn't really necessary because we finished and paid by 7:15. As for the food, we started with the bruschetta, which I think was the best part of the meal. It's incredibly garlicky, the tomatoes were bright, and the bread was crispy. For my entrée, I ordered the penne arrabiata, which was a filling portion and spicier than I expected. We ended on the tiramisu, which was subpar. It wasn't particularly flavorful, barely sweet even, and too wet.
