Just came back from getting a tooth cut out, and it wasn't an easy job. I had resorption, where the body inexplicably treats a tooth like a foreign object and it starts to erode. In its' place, he put an implant which holds a temporary tooth for now, but will hold a permanent porcelain tooth when it sets. Both Dr. Young and his staff are very nice, even though my procedure had everyone there much later than closing time. They made sure that they did the best job possible for me before I left the office, because they knew how much anxiety I had over the tooth being a smile tooth. Dr. Young also called me a few hours after the surgery to check in on me and make sure that I was doing ok and knew how to care for the wound. He communicated well with my dentist, who put the temporary tooth in after the surgery. I can't thank you guys enough! read more

The dentist and procedure itself was fine, but the billing department has a severe opportunity for communication training. I asked if there would be a residual balance and was told multiple times that I would not receive a bill in the mail later on, which did happen, and with a request to write my payment card information and mail it back. I called several times to pay over the phone or online and nobody returned my voicemails. Then they sent my information to collections. I do not recommend doing business here. read more

I was to Dr. Young just over 2 years ago by my primary DDS. I needed a tooth extracted, and would subsequently need an implant. I was told at the time by my DDS and by Dr. Young that it should be a very simple procedure. After a few months, I was informed that I would need a bone graft, in order to accommodate the implant. Eight months later I was informed that the graft was not successful, and he would need to do it again. It was recommended by Dr. Young that I use a more invasive procedure, that would allow for the implant. A few days after this procedure, I went back to Dr. Young to learn that the stitches had all dislodged. At this time I was informed that because of the first bone graft, it was far too much scar tissue for the second one to work. I was only informed this after invested over $4800 out of pocket. I am the kind of person that is far more likely to leave a positive review as opposed to no review at all. I am writing this review so others do not find themselves in the predicament that I am now in. I have now been informed by two professional service providers (both oral surgeons) that's something "wasn't quite right." Either the bone grafts should have worked, or I paid for services that I never received. The one thing they both agreed upon, was it would be more difficult for a bone graft to take now, given the massive amount of scar tissue left by Dr.Young. I cracked a tooth yesterday evening. Pain was unbearable. No painkillers were helping. Dr. Young took my call very quickly and came in extra early to address and get me out of pain. Tooth extraction Anesthetic injections were more uncomfortable than usual. The extraction was OK Told I needed a bone graft for which I paid $450 The glue used came off day 2, the sutures started falling out day 3. I now have a crater in the back of my lower gum. His staff were nice but his clinical expertise is far from impressive. Will not go back to have my implant. Of note, posted a review to his sight and it was never posted. They select only the reviews which are glowing recommendations. Don't be fooled. Recommend going elsewhere. read more

My dentist in the same building gave me a referral to have my wisdom teeth pulled out. When I get there they have me watch a 10 minute video about wisdom teeth then the "Dr" comes in and says he's not going to take them out, sends me on my way and sends me a bill for $200. Sorry to have to write this review, but ALL doctors practice at the mercy of their office staff. I've had 2 surgical procedures with Dr Young without incident. Today I sent my daughter there for a wisdom tooth extraction consult. Maria (biller on the front desk) was so rude and ignorant that I had to speak with the office manager Robin. She answered the phone with an attitude; I'm sure it was in response to whatever Maria had to say about me. Dr. Young might be totally okay for somebody who has no problems with/fears of dentists or surgery. But this is not the right guy for me. The rates are really good if you do not have insurance, and they have a lot of availability so you can usually get an appointment in less than a week. I was really skeptical about surgery so I decided just to go in for a consult first. After they get all of your medical history, they sit you down in a room and show you this video that tells you all of the things that could possibly go wrong with your wisdom tooth extraction.... umm, thanks for the panic attack? The doctor came in afterward, quickly looked in my mouth, and told me that I should get all of my wisdom teeth out. I then explained some of my concerns with fear/anxiety and he kind of brushed it off. He was very straight with me and told me that because my wisdom teeth were not impacted, an anesthetic would not be covered by insurance. Yeah... there's no way you're getting those teeth out of me if I'm not put under! I made an appointment for the surgery because they offered me some anti-anxiety meds to take before I came in for the procedure. I thought about it for a few weeks and then decided to call and cancel, and I'll be going to get an opinion from another doctor. Like I said, this office might totally be okay for some or even most people. I just need a little bit more reassurance and good bedside manner than the norm when it comes to doctors doing anything to my teeth. read more

This was my first time getting any teeth pulled. He pulled all four of my wisdom teeth and he was so great! We joked, laughed, he even let me take a selfie. I know this sounds ridiculous, but that's how easy he made the experience. Horrible experience. 2 bone grafts, one dental implant of which both failed in less than a year. Paid over $2500 and was not reimbursed one cent. I was still getting bills for close to $800 that he expected me to pay but thought it was a favor to me to write it off. Every bit of it was great they called me when they were ready. Staff was all very friendly and great. The really surprise was that every bit of what I had done was painless. Even the Novacaine shots were painless. What I had was a complete mess and Dr Young was really quick super, and made the whole experience great. I'm still amazed at how painless it was. Highly recommended. Hopefully I never need another tooth ripped out but if the need does arise this is my place. And it was really reasonable for dental work, which is sometimes pricey if you don't have insurance. Which, good chance you don't because this is America. read more

The only thing keeping this from being a one star review is his staff was very nice and accommodating. My wife was referred to him to have something on her tongue biopsied that her primary care doctor and regular dentist thought was suspicious. Dr. Young spent more time questioning her on why someone else had filled out the patient information form. I assisted her since she has fibromyalgia and has difficulty writing sometimes. Never has this been questioned before. He did a very brief exam, and thought the problem may be in her head due to the type of medications that she was taking in a very condescending manner. Dr. Young did not do a biopsy, but referred my wife to Tufts University Craniofacial Pain Clinic in Boston. There is no way we are going to go somewhere over an hour each way with no guarantee that they can help us, or Lord knows how much we might have to pay out of pocket for. We are hoping that our insurance will cover the $70 consult fee. Otherwise we would have been better off spending it up the road at Twin River. Lucky for me, I've already had my wisdom teeth out, but if I ever need oral surgery, I will steer clear of this guy. read more

My teenage daughter saw Dr. Young to have her four wisdom teeth removed. The staff was wonderful and organized in spite of the COVID19 issue. Because of the Covid, I had to wait in the car, but the staff took great care of her! She was brought down in a wheelchair after the surgery and didn't even know she had already had the surgery. She didn't have any issues. She slept upon returning home and when she woke, we changed her gauze a few times for the bleeding. She hardly had any pain at all. Per their recommendations, she was given 3 Advil and 1 Tylenol every 6 hours and that kept any pain at bay. Her face wasn't even swollen. We received 2 separate phone calls from Dr. Young who wanted to see how my daughter was doing. While something like this can be a bad experience, Dr. Young and his staff did an awesome job in making the experience as pleasant as possible.! read more

Dr Young has zero bedside manner is arrogant, rude and condescending. From trying to sell you procedures while in the middle of a painful procedure, to having the receptionist inform you of you $120 cost while in a dentist's chair as though they won't perform the surgery if you don't have the $120. While in the most pain of my life, Dr Young condescendingly asked me multiple times "Am I hurting you? This shouldn't be hurting you. If you cannot tolerate the pain we'll have to compete it later" as though I would ever walk through the doors to his office ever again! read more

The only experience I can say anything positive about was the staff supporting the Dr Young. I was extremely nervous as I have never needed a tooth pulled before. Based on the reviews I thought my experience would be as good as everyone spoke about . My appointment time was 2:45 in which I didn't get back into a room until 4:00 so my anxiety grew during the wait. The staff assured me I was in good hands and the process would be nothing. When Dr Young arrived he immediately gave me shots to numb my mouth then started pulling within a min of giving Novocaine. I yelled out in pain and he said if I can't take it then I would have to return in June. I said you expect me to deal with this tooth for 2 months? He said yes and it will cost you more money. I didn't care about cost I wanted to not feel pain. He gave me another dose of Novocaine than began tugging at my mouth again which was again painful. I made him stop again and he said this is as much as the shot will do for you. He said he need 30 more seconds which was painful as the first few attempts. Once the tooth was removed he turned to me and said if you came to a dentist every 6 months you wouldn't be in this situation. I was on overload at this point tears pouring down my face. Just to be clear its my fault my wisdom tooth is causing issues. I asked him to get out of my face immediately. He looked at me and assumed I don't get regular dental care nor could afford the luxury of having an non insulting pain free experience. NEVER AGAIN will I go here. This is a long overdue review but I give Dr Young 0 stars. I had to put one in order to post the review.A few years ago I had 3 wisdom teeth pulled. During my consultation he was checking my teeth and stepped back and asked "do you work out?". I didn't think too much into it but thought It was an odd question to ask when someone is looking at your teeth. When I went in the day to get my wisdom teeth pulled, they had just given me the general anesthesia and right before I knocked out I heard Dr Young say to his assistant who was a family friend "has she always struggled with her weight?" . I am so glad I went on here and checked out some of the reviews. A few weeks ago we had called and made an appointment for surgery for my fiance and we ended up having a snow storm so we had to reschedule the surgery. When I called to reschedule it took them about two weeks to call back, I told the secretary that I would like to set up an appointment for consultation this time and will also set up surgery because she told me it would take a week for the consultation and then another week to two for surgery and we wanted to get it done as soon as possible, she told me we will not be setting up an appointment for the surgery we have to set up the consultation appointment, well that did not make any sense to me when we schedule the first appointment we did not even have a consultation it was for surgery. When I asked her why I couldn't set up both appointments she told me well we don't do that because people are cancelling the day before excuse me that's the lamest excuse I've ever heard I don't care how far in advance or how close you make the appointment if someone needs to cancel because of an emergency or a storm they're going to cancel. I found your response to be odd and rude. I asked to speak with the office manager with an attitude she said to me she is in here right now, so I made it a point to contact the office again and get ahold of the office manager as I was speaking to her she was out in left field somewhere she was not even listening to what I was telling her took place with the secretary, oh did I forget to mention as I was asking her for the two appointments as she proceeded to tell me we can't make two appointments she said and you are more than happy to go elsewhere... after speaking to the office manager I told her to contact me back and let me know after she did some research of our conversation with the secretary, I received a call that afternoon telling me we were not a good fit for that office without even meeting the patient or apologizing for the secretaries rudeness. I decided to do a little research and I'm so glad I came on this website and checked out some of the reviews he received and I'm so happy we are not going in that office. I made an appointment based on a conversation with someone in his office about insurance and billing. Since they did not take my insurance I offered to pay in full and then asked if they would assist me in filling out the forms so I could file with my insurance and possibly get money back. No problem, I was told. I get to the appointment and they are hostile, make me wait over 40 minutes, hand my X-ray back and tell me, "Yeah, the doctor won't see you because of your insurance". I asked about the insurance forms, and paying me in full and waiting for reimbursement, and she said, "Yeah, no, he won't deal with you". DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME. read more

I've been searching for a good oral surgeon for about 6 months and I finally found the BEST dentist !! Dr.Steven H. Young, D.D.S is amazing! His staff are so nice and professional and caring . The office is very clean and modern. The price was shockingly low lol I was jumping for joy to pay 180 for my tooth to get pulled cause it was broken and infected ..I got about a dozen prices from all different dentists and the highest price I got was 800 . Some dentists are blood suckers out for one thing your money but Dr young is a dentist for all the right reasons! I highly recommend him :) read more
