When these tests did not reveal the cause(s) of my problem, he ordered specialized blood tests. While his thoroughness impressed me positively, what I valued the most was his concern and his kindness. I will see him in his office for follow up. Referred to Dr. Tsao for some issues related to other issues which are related to even more issues, I was nervous about my meet and greet. I was surprised to find an immediate feeling of ease and trust in his presence. He's playful, yet respectful. Funny, yet thorough. I couldn't believe it when he had actually read my chart (s) (s) (s).........so many charts. He was prepared for my meeting with him, listened to my "let me start from the beginning," and was patient as he performed several not so pleasant tests which I passed and failed throughout the appointment. I had expected to have a more invasive procedure scheduled at a later date, yet he felt (upon my failures) I should just get them done right then, right there. Undergoing a procedure I will refer to as the Shawshank Special (do you know you tinkle your pants when you're being tased?), he kept me calm and distracted with humorous anecdotes from his med school days (which were probably last year because I swear he looks 15 at most). If you're looking for a neurologist that will actually read your history, listen to you for a long time, spend a quality amount of time with you, create a safe space for you to unload your frustrations with your ailments, then Dr. Tsao is for you!

Dr. T. takes his medical training and experience and helps me understand CT's, MRI's, blood labs, and blends these with my subjective reports so that I have a comprehensive understanding of what my other specialists simply do not do. Sometimes I leave feeling like I understand the…read moreinformation that was conveyed to me and am comfortable in my condition, other times I've left confused and trying to get my questions answered only led to additional frustration and misunderstanding. One thing I will say is that I do like the doctor. He is well respected and educated in his field, and I think he's a nice guy. HOWEVER sometimes I get the feeling that he's confusing me with another patient. One visit I'm left believing I'm ok and have nothing to be concerned about, then come back for a follow up and leave under the impression that I have some serious condition. In the many years I've been a patient at this practice I still only have a label of being "suspect" of a condition and not actually having it. While I do support the doctors decision to not officially diagnosis me until he is absolutely sure as this condition is elusive as far as a clear cut diagnosis, it does leave me stressed. Other medical professionals who know my "label" don't agree with this and feel I either have this condition or I don't, which again causes me a lot of undue stress. I will say that this is the kind of place doesn't like to give results for anything over the phone. Expect to get a test done then wait up to three months for your appointment for results. This is very typical, however for me and my condition, one result could lead to another test so I've been very proactive in calling and trying to get results. They do not like to do this with good reason. What was relayed to me by a nurse was the complete opposite of what the result actually was when I did get in to see the doctor and when I brought it to their attention there wasn't any real ownership of their fault and I was made to feel like I made the mistake. For a new patient going in I would advise you to make sure you ask specifically to schedule with the doctor. Many of times I went in thinking I was seeing the doctor himself only to have been scheduled with the nurse practitioner. In my case my specialist co pay is expensive, and for me to pay it then I want to see any actual doctor. The nurse practitioner I felt had a odd personality and didn't have proper reaction. That's the only way I can explain how I felt visiting with her. Maybe it's just that our personalities clash. I don't know but I don't want to see her again, ever.

If you are on crutches, use a walker, or require a wheel chair you'll never get in the front door since it has 2 huge steps. You'll never be able to use the bathroom either because that's not handicap accessible either. Unless they're hiding another restroom.

My father was recommended by his primary physician to see a neurologist due to the unusual appearance of his hand. I happened to be visiting for the week, and it was very frustrating for me that every office he was referred to did not have any appointments for two months. I spoke to his chiropractor, who is a family friend, and he stressed the fact that waiting two months was not acceptable. My father is hard of hearing, and not really savvy on social media. Since YELP is my go to for everything, I decided to research other offices and see if I could find him an appointment much sooner. Being in the dental industry, it is very important for me to read credentials and reviews from patients. I was very impressed with Dr. Scopelliti's back ground, so with fingers crossed, I made the call. Ladies and gentlemen, I felt like I was reaching out to an old friend. Debbie was so kind and understanding! Having an aging parent can be very challenging, but she was very patient as my dad chimed in his two cents from the background. She was able to get my father an appointment in four days. We chatted for a bit about what it is like to be a patient provider. She told me about the doctor, and the one on one experience he provides. I sent her dad's insurance information, and she was kind enough to reach out within the hour to explain about his patient portion. I was really looking forward to meeting the team, but circumstances came up and I sent my mom. I wanted her to be able to understand what the Dr. was diagnosing, and due to HIPPA regulations, I wanted her to be able to have future discussions if need be. When they came home, Dad gave rave reviews about Dr. S. He treated him for a full hour, had strict Covid guidelines, and dad had a better understanding about what was happening to his body. I am so very thankful for these people. In this time of uncertainty, you think the worst outcome possible. Dad was convinced he had one foot in the grave, and was discussing his burial wishes. I told him only the good die young, and he has plenty of years left! We have a little work to do to get him on the mend, but thanks to Dr. S and his extremely thorough exam....there will be many more visits with my family. If you are looking for a knowledge neurologist, look no further. This practice went above and beyond! Heartfelt thanks to both Debbie and Dr. Scopelliti! Beth Soncrant
