I had asked for a simple 1.5 on top with a zero fade in the back. The fade had a harsh line, and when I asked if it could be blended more I was told "That's the most I can fade it." I didn't want to be pushy, so I actually started wondering if maybe I was the problem and just wasn't seeing it right. I got in the car trying so hard to hold back my tears. Then I remembered Executive Barbershop was just up the street. I quickly searched for their number and called hoping someone might still be available. Narbeh answered and explained they were already closed and about to start on his last client. I think he could hear the panic and disappointment in my voice because without hesitation he told me he'd stay and take my son once his client was done. When he saw the haircut, I think he was just as shocked as I was. He didn't have much to work with, but somehow he completely transformed it. I honestly can't believe these were the same haircuts. Narbeh gave my son exactly what I had originally asked for, despite having to fix someone else's mistake. To top it all off, he didn't even want to charge us. But there was absolutely no way I was walking out of there without paying him. That level of kindness, professionalism, and dedication is so rare. Thank you so much Narbeh. The shop is spotless, there's always a game on the TVs ....whatever's in season. The playlist is always on point and never too loud. Easy conversation always flows between the barbers and whoever's in the chairs. Great location! Right on Kenneth in Glendale in a really nice neighborhood. Parking is available through the back alley and you can almost always find a spot or you can try your luck on Kenneth. After your cut you can even go next door to Coffee Commissary grab yourself a drink. Eight years later and this is still the only barbershop I go to. Hate to do this this but my last haircut with Vaughn was unacceptable…read more I had medium/long length hair and was initially just going to trim the sides but that did not go as planned. Instead of giving me a mid fade, Vaughn gave me a high fade. This created a big disconnect with my hair up top. To try and make the best of the already bad situation, I told him to just cut the top short and showed him a picture for reference (see image below). He went way too short and it looked nothing like what I asked for. It was so bad that I had to come back the next day and ask him to just buzz the top, because it was better to start of with a clean slate at this point. Seeing my disappointment and knowing that he did not give me the haircut I wanted, Vaughn did not hesitate to still charge me full price. I still gave him a $5 tip as well, but just seems like a waste of $35 for a haircut I could have given myself. He was nice overall though and the first haircut he gave me was okay, so I guess that earns him 2 stars. I will not be coming back though.
