I chose Sterling Window Tint despite receiving several lower quotes because I assumed their premium price and reviews ($625, significantly higher than every other estimate I received) would reflect higher quality workmanship. Unfortunately that was not my experience. Of note, I have since taken my car to another tint shop for another opinion and they were able to get this tinting done without any problems the first time around. when first picking up my car from Sterling Window Tint, there were multiple creases and air bubbles as well as contamination in the tint. In addition, one of the interior door handle panels had not been reinstalled correctly and was left on the floor of the vehicle, and the interior rubber window gaskets were folded over instead of being properly reinstalled. I was able to correct those assembly issues myself, but I contacted Miguel regarding the quality of the tint. Miguel explained that because my vehicle is older, it would not be possible to eliminate every contaminant. I understood that and never expected perfection. However, that explanation did not account for the obvious creases, air bubbles, or the large amount of contamination present. I showed photos to another tint shop, and they told me the issues (particularly the creases and air bubbles) were the result of poor attention to detail and not the age of the vehicle. They commented that they would have been "embarrassed" to have a job look like this. Miguel said he would redo it and would "personally look it over" to make sure it was done correctly. So I took off another day from work to bring the car back in to get it redone. There were again air bubbles and creases on the windshield and patches of old tint that had not been removed stuck under the new layer. Miguel stated that there was no way that could be possible as he checked everything personally. However, upon arriving at the shop, his employee Ed admitted that it was actually leftover tint that was missed, stating that "Miguel would not know" as he had not performed the work himself. With regard to the new air bubbles and creases, they advised giving it a few days, which of course did not go away as they were not from residual moisture. At this time point, Miguel stated that "this is too many redos" and said that the only option was to take everything down and refund my money, which at this point after having taken another day off work, seemed like the best way to be done with this situation. If this was their attitude, also imagine having a problem under warranty later and them taking the same approach. I took off a third day from work and they refunded me the cost of the tint, which I do appreciate. Unfortunately, the experience did not end there. When I picked up the vehicle after the tint was removed, there were still patches of adhesive left on the windows that I had to point out before leaving. Additionally, there were multiple large scratches on the inside of several windows. Ed acknowledged these and told me they occurred while he removed the tint with a razor blade, and shrugged. I also watched him use a razor blade to remove the remaining adhesive spots I pointed out When contacted Miguel about the scratches, he initially told me they were not caused by his shop and stated they "never use razor blades." After I explained that Ed had personally acknowledged causing the scratches with a razor blade, Miguel admitted that he had not actually seen the car himself. No apology offered. When I asked whether the shop would cover the cost of repairing the scratched windows, Miguel declined, stating that after redoing the tint and issuing a refund, he could not afford to pay for the repairs. I know that older vehicles can present challenges and I was not expecting a flawless install. However, repeated lack of attention to detail, contradictory explanations, and refusal to address damage that occurred while my car was under their care is truly disappointing, and I was ultimately left with scratched windows that now need repair. read more

Miguel is a long-term client of mine. He has tinted at least five cars for me. I kept going back because of the quality of work and attention to detail. This was while he tinted at home (both his old and new home) and did the work himself. I followed him to his new home address and now to his new shop which is in a different state and very far from me. However, the quality of service at the shop is not the same. First of all, he quoted me a low price and tried to make me pay a higher price after the job was done. The rear window was improperly done (window was not completely tinted) so he offered to have it redone. I drove more than an hour to his shop only for him to tell me he was off for the day. I asked for a refund so I could have the job done by another shop closer to me. I got refunded $80 which was nowhere close to what he quoted for tinting the rear glass. There is also a mark on the windshield tint that i will have to look at each time i drive. I guess I will no longer be tinting any cars at Sterling Window Tint. Go there at your own risk read more

I purchased a 2019 Nissan Frontier back in October 2019, and I have been wanting to tint my windows for awhile now. I like the summer cooling benefits and the privacy aspect of tint as well. Before getting my windows tinted, I wanted to do some research first and see where I could get my windows tinted professionally, because I have a lease for my truck. My contact says Nissan will charge me for peeling and bubbling tint, so I wanted to find a good, reputable shop to do the job. A friend of mine recommended I speak to Miguel at Sterling Window Tint, so I called later that day to get a quote. Miguel was very polite and professional and walked me through the tinting process, different levels of darkness for the tint, and pricing for everything. I then scheduled an appointment, paid for the tint, and dropped my truck off the next day to have the tint installed. Upon picking my truck up, Miguel explained the curing period for the tint, and had a sticker placed on my window buttons to remind me not to roll the windows down. His team did a wonderful job tinting my truck's two front windows to 50%, and I look forward to bringing my Nissan Murano here to have it's windows tinted as well. I came to Miguel back in June to get my front two windows tinted. He did an excellent job and it cost $200. I then got the legal windshield tint (70%) with DMV approval, and this is where the service started to go downhill; this service cost $250. When he installed the tint on the windshield, I noticed a bunch of creases and a visible hair under the film (see attempt 1 pictures). We both agreed to bring the car back to fix, but to my surprise, I sort of received a few excuses from him when I arrived. These excuses were "the front windshield is just difficult to do" and "there's a lot of hair in here" (this one I can understand) and "if I try to fix it now, other issues could pop up." The "if I try to fix it now, other issues could pop up" statement was just so bizarre to me since I too am in customer service and can't imagine saying to my clients "this is just difficult to do" or "hey my solution will be incomplete." If you specialize in a particular service and are charging real money for it, you can't relay to your customers how difficult your job is. It's exactly what you are in business for. We agreed that he would fix these errors on the front windshield so I left my car there. I'm not sure if I have a right to complain at this point, since he did tell me "more issues could pop up." More issues did pop up.... See picture titled Attempt 2. A TON of black spots popped up on the inside of the film. They look like burned bits of something. I put a white piece of paper on the outside to make the picture clearer. I reached out to Miguel and he said to make sure it's not on the outside of the film to which I responded, it's inside of the film because I can feel the pieces. He told me to "wait a month for it to blend." 2 months later, it never went away. I asked him for a partial refund and never got a response. It's been 3 months now. tl;dr 2 star rating math: Front two windows were $200, this is a 5 star rating. Windshield ($250) was messy, this is minus 2.5 stars. Spoke to Miguel Cornejo and he told me to swing by and he will take care of my new SQ5. I was expecting a hole in the wall kind of place but was very surprised to be in a really nice industry park area with a very comfortable waiting area. Miguel went over the different types of tints as well as the level of darkness and the guys in the shop take care of it in less than 30 minutes. I actually forgot how much he quoted me because i was preoccupied with something, when i actually saw the invoice price it was much cheaper than expected.
