Non-existent and/or poor communication. The cleaner arrived on-site 50 minutes early without prior notice. We discussed hiring two cleaners for two hours over the phone. It changed without communication to one cleaner and four hours. The cleaner mixed all the trash, recycling, and composting (contamination), which could have caused a huge fine in New York City. It doesn't seem as if there was training. Some items were thrown out without consultation, and papers were reorganized to the point where I couldn't find a receipt. The cleaner attempted to leave 40 minutes early. read more

DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY. Read my story if you wanna know why. Customer service is great. Cleaning ladies are nice. However, they could not give me what I wanted. I want to remove the dust off from the surfaces of my apartment so I could move it after the service. They knew it is post construction service and the charged extra for it. Before the cleaning, they ask me for steps so they could reach the higher places. I went to buy it immediately for them. Again, it's newly renovated so my apartment is empty. Lack of necessary equipment. They have no cleaning supply with them. They were just using water!? After the cleaning, my apartment still very dusty. When I was inspecting how they did, they rushing me saying they have another appointment. And they leave a bag of garbage in the house. Customer service is very good. Quick reply and answer. Still waiting for the solution of this situation. *Situation update* So, their reply is quick. However, they didn't want to take any responsibility of what they did not provided. They said they will give me refund unless I remove this review. That's why they have so many good reviews but only a few bad review. I am not happy with this answer because people should know what kind of services you could provide. So, I decided not to take the refund and leave this review here so everyone can see this. I mentioned they charged me extra $80 for post construction service. And without anything done for what I requested. " still very dusty everywhere" , they offered me $40 refund but I must remove this review. Telling me that they already give me a discount. The discount is with condition that I could pay by cash. I should not pay after what they've done. Their cleaning service for me is waste of money because nothing is done. You will end up hiring other company or you have to do it by yourself just like me. read more

Excellent cleaning service at a great price! Very professional, efficient and on time. They are quick to answer emails and messages.

These woman are amazing! They show up on time with masks on and all the supplies they need to make your home a sparkling healthy clean environment. I've been using them for two years now and have never been disappointed. I recommend Sterling Maids especially if you have a toddler to chase after daily! read more

These ladies are the bomb! We recently moved and wanted to get both our new and old apartments cleaned. Especially our old apartment which we lived in for 12 years. Never having used a cleaning service before I wasn't sure want to expect but getting a quote was very easy and the price was reasonable. For our first appointment 3 ladies showed up on time, super friendly, and did a thorough job. The new place was shiny and smelled amazing. For the second appointment I was worried that our old place wouldn't look that great, it was already an older place and well lived in. These ladies proved me wrong. The 2 ladies arrived on time again, were friendly (one woman did the first cleaning job so she was familiar with us) and again did an amazing job. Both jobs were done in about 2 hours. I would definitely recommend this company. read more

We just got back from Vacation and was overwhelmed with cleaning and keeping up with household chores. So so HAPPY that we were able to schedule a cleaning service with Sterlin Maids. The rate was reasonable, and the service was fantastic! Rhea was an ultimate professional and she listened to my concerns and my request for the focused areas to clean. Super happy and satisfied with the service that I intend to have them clean our apt on a recurring basis! Thanks again, Sterling Maids! read more

I don't ever leave reviews but I gotta say Rea and Qyadaisha just left and my place is sparkling !! It was so nice having them here and giving me a clean home !! The two ladies that came to my apartment was early and kind. I paid for a kitchen deep cleaning, wall washing for 1 room, and cleaning for an 1 bedroom apartment. They arrived at 9am and finished by 10am. They were extremely fast and detail My living room- they did a good job cleaning dusting, and vacuuming. They did an excellent job mopping. I walked barefoot and feet stayed clean. They vacuum in between my couch cushions. My living space felt brand new. My bedroom- my bed was made to perfection. They clean underneath my bed very well. Bathroom- they cleaned my bathroom like it was there own. I would highly recommend Laketha and Laurie They used eco friendly products, which smelled wonderful. read more

Very professional and efficient cleaners. I was pleasantly surprised! The ladies were very friendly and helpful, nonjudgmental and great at what they do! Great prices and no surprises in terms of price points! I will be utilizing this cleaning service from now on! read more

I needed someone to come get the place move-in ready after const. renovations. Communicating thru Yelp, i was able to get a price quote, specify what i wanted done (with added concern areas) and then make an appointment easily. Initially i had a 3-hour slot booked, but the ladies were able to finish in under 2hrs, so i was only charged for such. The ladies clean EVERYTHING, even opened cabinet drawers to wipe down. I am pleased. I would use them again as i would recommend them to my friends. Sterling Maids, please stay humble and KEEP IT UP!!! :) read more

I am a regular customer and love their service. The ladies are neat, clean, fast and bring everything with them that the house needs. They are very friendly with our dog too so thats a plus. I always pay in cash/check, not sure about credit cards. I highly recommend them. read more

Great company. My mother in law was very pleased. She thought they wouldn't clean good but she was proven wrong. Nice and gave a great quote. Much better than any other places I got quotes from in the Queens, NY area. Most of the others were rip offs! read more

I stopped using their services. So disappointed after years of trying to find a reliable service. Although a refund was finally granted, I had a terrible experience and had something valuable stolen from my bedroom while I was with my newborn in the living room. I confronted the person and she was very aggressive and tried to gaslight the situation. Eventually she took the stolen item our of her purse and put it in a place to make it look like I had done it. The employees were fired, but I felt very angry that two people who work for such a great service would take advantage of a new mother and her baby like that. You may want to speak to management to confirm WHO is coming to clean. They did a terrible job and my floors looked worse when they left. read more

The woman who came to clean did an ok job - she didn't exactly wash the floor (just swept it and used a swiffer and spray on it) and didn't do a particularly thorough job. She was there for over 3 hours but I am not sure what she actually spent most of her time doing. We had ordered two people to get the job done faster and (I thought) with more rigor but they sent 1 woman who stayed for over 3 hours. Worst of all - it was really expensive! Plus I tipped (cause you have to). You can do better. read more

Rea touched base before the appointment and we discussed what needed to be done. She showed up on time and did a great job. My place feels so much fresher. Ive used Sterling Maids NYC before and I will use them again read more

For my first booking, I requested 2 ladies for two hours because I figured the grime in my apartment would need two people to complete. One of the ladies could not make it, but the other extended her time to 3 hours to get the job done. The lady, Octavia was her name, was thorough, courteous and professional. She did her job and asked me to inspect before leaving. What I liked about the whole service was the customer service from Felicia and her staff. I know people mess up or things don't go as expected but if your customer service is on point, it's really hard for clients to stay mad. This is what Sterling Maids NYC offered me. In all, I was very satisfied with their work and I'm booking them for a recurring monthly cleaning. Thank you Felicia and Octavia. read more

What a predicament when I work 8 days and week and can't seem to get anything done. What is a man to do when I have guests soon to be arriving in town and my house looks like World War 3? Oh do not distress, Sterling Maids to the rescue! THE GOOD: These people are truly life savers. My cleaner, Rea, was very prompt and arrived right on time. Each and every single room was cleansed from top to bottom like it was their own. I truly have a newfound respect for anyone in the cleaning industry because I don't think I could have even cleaned my home in such an immaculate way. THE BAD: Unfortunately, I may have downplayed exactly how much work needed to be performed to my house. I felt really bad for them because of the insurmountable amount of chores/cleaning that needed to get done. However, Sterling Maids proved to me that there is nothing they cannot do. THE UGLY: I am truly ashamed about what they found behind my bed, however there was some extra money that I thought was lost. CHA-Ching!!! I really need to say a special thanks to Rea and the entire Sterling Maids staff. There was an impossible task at hand which was handled with care and put my mind at ease. Thank you very much! read more

I decided to give Sterling Maids a try after a recommendation from a friend and I was more than impressed by the service I received! Debbie was very meticulous in her cleaning and had such a pleasant personality. The only thing brighter than my spotless house was her smile. She also went above and beyond by leaving cute little amenities and some creative towel art in my bathroom. Very clever and unexpected! This company gets 2 thumbs up from me, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone! read more

Sterling Maids - So cute! - Home Cleaning Near Me

From booking my appointment to the final walk-through I was very happy with the service I got from Sterling Maids. Booking my appointment was easy. They will work with your schedule to find the best time to get the job done, even if your not home. The reason I chose this company was because of there environmental impact. Not only do they use eco friendly products, but they also recycle all of there waste when they are done. The cleaners showed up on time which was very important to me and got to work right away. I believe that I'm a very good cleaner and was amazed at the final walk-through of service from Sterling Maids. Not only did my home look clean, but it also smelled clean. I would definitely recommend their services to my friends and family. read more

Life is crazy busy and when it came to hosting a graduation party for my Son, I just didn't have enough time in the day!! I've never used a maid service before so when I decided that I needed to, I did my research. I came upon Sterling Maids and reached out to them. My timing was tight so I hoped they could accommodate me. I called and scheduled an appointment and they had no problem fulfilling my last minute request! Sterling Maids is the king of cleaning services!  I had my first cleaning by Rea today and she was simply amazing. She was incredibly diligent and worked for 3 hours to get my home looking better than before I moved in.  She's a definite keeper! I booked last minute and they were willing to accomodate me without any additional fees, unlike some other companies. The person on the phone (I forgot her name) was very helpful and super chipper. I really like the towel folding designs in the bathroom and the little gifts which was a nice touch. read more

I can't say enough about the service provided by Sterling Maids. The ladies had their work cut out for them and they did an incredible job. They worked on my apartment for 4 hours - it had to be well over the allotted time for my appointment! But I have a big apartment for a one-bedroom and there was much work to be done. The apartment looks like a whole new place now. They knew everything they needed to do and hardly asked me anything, which I was grateful for because I was doing my own organizing as they cleaned and wanted to focus on that. All of my messes were put into organized messes so I could finally sort through all my papers, etc. Amazing job done by the ladies! I will definitely be having them back as soon as it's needed! read more

I love the energy and attitude of the lady that cleans my house. I feel it's more than a cleaning of my house I get. Anita and Asha have been my team for half a year now and they're AMAZING. They're always on time, work incredibly quickly, and are such a delight to have in my home. Their attention to detail is unmatched and it's such a treat to settle into a sparkling clean apartment after they've been over. There's even a discount for return customers, so I make sure to never miss a booking. read more

Anything but Sterling. Used 3 times and had 3 different persons show up with no advanced knowledge. Not very thorough cleaning for the price and too many upcharges to do what most would consider should be included. read more

I found this service through Yelp so I feel compelled to review them on Yelp. I chose them based on the price quotes I got from several services. In addition, Sterling was one of the few businesses that included a phone number with their quote. I am over 50, so sometimes I just like to talk to people on the phone instead of filling out an online form. Don't worry - in the final stage there is an online form with check boxes so you can describe every aspect of your apartment and necessary cleaning. Rea did a great job. She brought all her own supplies including the vacuum cleaner! I chose the hourly rate because my husband and I don't make much of a mess just the two of us. And we got a discount for signing up for cleaning every 2 weeks. I stayed the entire time on Rea's first visit. Since then, I leave the key with the doorman and trust her to do a good job, which she does! I decided at the last minute to invite people over for coffee and cake on Sunday, and I know that my apartment will be sparkly and beautiful, because it always is now. read more

After reading the reviews on here, I decided to give this place a try. I am pregnant with a full time job and my husband just simply can't do it all. They came at 12:45 pm and I immediately started to guide them with what I wanted cleaned. Upstairs: two main bathrooms with tub and shower and toilet. One main master bedroom. And two small bedroom that barely needed anything done. (The entire house was not a mess at all) Downstairs: kitchen counter and entire downstairs needed to be sweeped and mopped. Two small bathrooms. One of the girls said they might need three hours because of the size and I said that is totally fine. Two hours passed and they were still working on the upstairs bathrooms and bedroom. These bathrooms were not extremely dirty with clothes everywhere. They did not have to make any beds, just simple dusting and wiping and vacuuming. When it hit three I told them to start downstairs immediately. I really wanted them to help with the kitchen counter but I ended up doing it myself along with some dishes. All they did was sweep and mop and briefly cleaned the two bathrooms downstairs and that was just too rushed. (I also sweeped) The results of course was great, the areas they REALLY spent a lot of time on. But I wish they just spaced out the priorities more with the time given. Two girls in three hours should be able to get what I wanted done but unfortunately not. They told me to be more specific next time? But I thought I was specific enough. I should've told them to stop it with the bathrooms a long time ago. But overall great work. Just timing issues read more

I've been looking for a house cleaning service for months and kept having bad experiences with other companies. Finally, sterling maids were recommended to me by a friend, and I couldn't be happier!! They are timely and polite, and their checklist method of cleaning makes it easy to know what I'm getting during their service. My wife loved their visit so much we began having them over twice a month to help us keep our sanctuary spotless. The peace of mind a clean home has is priceless. read more

Way to go. Very genuine people. I enjoyed every bit of it after you clean that dirty kitchen and still enjoying. Thank you. And very friendly staff you have. Love it and can't wait to call you guys again. Keep up the good work. read more

I wanted to like this business after they did a great job the first time. We didn't say much the first time and their cleaner Suzette did a phenomenal job. The second time was two cleaners and they completely missed the kitchen. We asked to vacuum the couch and they didn't. I am giving this a three as opposed to a 1 since thr bathroom was good. I am not sure if it was a miscommunication. read more

Very professional and very prompt. Reasonable estimate and easy to communicate with. Recommend highly

I booked Sterling Maids for a one time move in cleaning for my new 2 bed/2 bath apartment, and everything went great. The 2 ladies (didn't catch their names) did a great job: they arrived on time, were very nice, and cleaned absolutely everything, including the inside of the kitchen cabinets and appliances, and the windows. I also appreciated the fact that they provided all the supplies, including a vacuum cleaner. A lot of other services require that you have a bunch of equipment on hand, which doesn't make any sense for a move in or move out service (I mean the apartment is supposed to be empty). The only things they needed were garbage bags and a step stool. I had also specified that I didn't want them to use harsh products on the bamboo floors, and they came with Bona products and mop which I really appreciated. The booking process was easy, and the price very reasonable. Definitely recommend them! read more

Well, when it comes to cleaning professionals, Ive been around the block and back. You name them, Ive tried them. This was my second time working with Sterling and I was very impressed. Two very nice ladies, Anita, and Sherita came to my apartment and really, really delivered. They were respectful, skillful, and thorough in their service. I can't say enough about their professionalism and can't wait to see them again. Kudos to Anita, Sherita, and Sterling for a super interaction! read more

I recently used Sterling Maids to clean my home. My regular service wasn't available and I was able to book without a problem. I had 2 cleaners come out, Anita & Anna. These ladies were simply fabulous. Their basic package included much more detailed cleaning than my usual service. They made sure they got to everything I required and even asked me to check before they left. Their customer service was amazing, the cleaning was even better. I now have two wonderful companies to choose from and plan to stick with both. read more
