Just wanted to post a heads-up regarding the Walgreens on Civic Center by Barlow plaza. I am never one to share stories like this, but this could have hurt my kids. I have two kids with rip-roaring ear infections, each of whom needed antibiotics. They told me they'd be ready in an hour. I waited in the car line for half an hour, got to the front, and was told they weren't ready and to go to the back of the line. I get to the front of the line, take the meds, and go home to treat my kids. Get home and find out that they didn't prepare the meds-- they gave me the powder and no instructions. Called and asked for them to have a reconstituted one when I went back a THIRD TIME. Got there, asked to speak to a manager when at the car window, the manager listened to my complaint, put the correct medication in the box, and said "is there anything else I can help you with?" I said "yes, it would be nice if someone apologized for screwing this up three times." He smiled, said "have a nice day," and walked away. They gave me the wrong medication for my kid. Then they gave me unprepared medication. Then a third time, they gave me the correct medication. Not once did anyone apologize. Imagine if they had messed up another child's medication and the parent hadn't caught it. Unbelievable. I will be writing to corporate, but wanted to warn moms here to check any prescriptions you get from that pharmacy, because their incompetence caused an error that could have hurt my child.

Gave this business a 3 stars for the following reasons:…read more As a worker: - I have worked here and the management is a joke & sits in the back (and gossips about workers) while workers do all the work for a paycheck that doesn't equate to the work they put in - They have a high turnover rate which leaves them short staffed (probably because of inadequate pay and lousy management) As a customer: - I have been on the phone for 20+ minutes with no one answering and eventually hanging up because I have other things to do throughout my day - poor communication between the pharmacy + their app + my insurance (which could just be my personal insurance issues) -lines at the pharmacy are ridiculously long (not the end of the world) -major miscommunications within their pharmacy wait times (I come in and am told 30 minutes then return and am told another 45 mins) The workers are doing their best considering their poor pay and poor management, give them better wages and replace the management.

Today's visit took 45 minutes for a scheduled booster shot. I arrived 15 minutes early to fill out the paperwork, but waited 10 minutes in line, took 5 minutes to get registered, waited another 20 minutes for my paperwork to be ready for me to fill out, then waited another 10 minutes because a person who had a later appointment than me got his paperwork immediately and got to go ahead of me. As I sat there waiting for my paperwork, I witnessed one lady being Waited on for at least 20 minutes...leaving only 1 window open. At least 8 to 12 people were hovering around the pharmacy waiting for their prescriptions and to be waited on The entire time I was there. I have been to many other Walgreens pharmacy's and have not witnessed this slow of service. This is not an isolated incident, every time I go there...no matter what day or what time of day this Is what you will get.
