Graf Plumbing Service

Graf Plumbing Service

We've used Graf Plumbing Service for several plumbing projects in our 1970s vintage dutch colonial…read more These include: 1. installation of new garbage disposal, including removal of existing one 2. re-plumbing drain lines in kitchen sink, including providing a pitch to ensure water actually flows down the pipe! 3. installing shut off valves on all toilets and sinks 4. reinstalling guts of 1980s era 1 piece Kohler toilet. that project was a treat, I'm sure. 5. installing entire new shower system in renovated bathroom, including tub, shower system, all associated piping, fixtures and shut off valves. He's going to be installing the new sink, toilet and all other bits and pieces when we get to that point of the renovation. Can you see the theme? There weren't any useable shut off valves in my home!! Yay when old-school hippies built homes... Brian comes out and straightens out each mess as we find them. I am sure he's actually done more stuff in this house, but these are the projects that stick out glaringly in my mind. Seriously though, we have tried other plumbers. The other plumbers charged us $1000 for a toilet, didn't finish work, installed valve assemblies backwards and then refused to fix their work (until we threatened contacting the local media, then all of sudden they were available to fix things). They also stole some of hubby's tools! We have never had a problem with Brian or his work. He is patient with the kids (big plus, as they want to "help" all the time) and patient with me (yes, yes I am a bit of a PITA). His prices are very fair, both for labor and materials. Please support a local business. Brian has the skills, work ethic and integrity to help you as much as he has helped (and continues to help) my mess of a house.

Northeast Well Pump Service

Northeast Well Pump Service

I used Northeast Well Pump this summer, and intended to write a review and forgot. I'm prompted to…read morewrite today since I gave a good friend his number after her regular well known local well guy failed to answer after 4 hours. While it was a weekend, anyone living in an area serviced by a well knows, how irritatingly inconvenient it is to be without water for more than 15 minutes. I had a similar experience this summer when we woke to no water and I called the local company I have used in the past. He failed to answer within a few hours, so I googled well service in Glastonbury and made calls to two other local companies. Within 10 minutes, Mr Ripley the owner of Northeast Well called back and said he could come out within an hour. "Believe it or not", he arrived within the promised time and thankfully diagnosed the issue as a simple blown switch which was replaced in record time. While here, he mentioned I should think about having the well cap replaced since it was loose and not secured allowing stuff to enter the pipe. He quoted me what sounded like a reasonable price and since he came so promptly even though we were not a longtime customer, I decided to give him the okay to do the work then if he had time. In no time at all, I had a shiny, secure new blue well cap! Mr Ripley, "Charlie" owns this Glastonbury business and has operated it for 30 years. Being a homeowner here for 25 years, I was surprised to learn this since there seems to be two other companies in town that everyone uses and I had never heard of it. I am happy to recommend this company and I will call Northeast Well Pump first if I ever have a well issue because of the way he handled my summer well issue and his prompt response to my friend this weekend. YES..he came within an hour for a weekend call.

He didn't try and push a more expensive hardware repair and made an adjustment to my tank pressure to resolved the issue. I'm Incredibly happy with his service and wish more businesses operated like Charlie and Northeast Well!

Mark Cibula Plumbing & Heating

Mark Cibula Plumbing & Heating

I highly recommend Mark for his professionalism, efficiency, personality, fair prices,…read moreresponsiveness, and excellent work. My hot water heater started acting up on a Friday night. By Saturday morning, I noticed the tap water was exceptional hot, too hot to touch. Then, by Saturday night I ran out of hot water. Resetting the heater seemed to fix the issue, but it overheated the water again. After some researching and contemplating my options, I decided to reach out to a professional. I contacted Mark to see if he could come and diagnose my heater and offer a quote for any repairs needed. Mark was able to come over my house as soon as I was available to meet him. He was very professional and analyzed the situation and gave me a few options on how to remedy it. Most likely, the thermostat in the heater went and it would need to be replaced. But since my heater was 13 years old, another option, probably the better one, would be to replace the entire heater. Mark quoted me a very fair price to fix my heater, or replace and install a new one. Mark shared his professional opinion, and the options, without trying to sell me anything, or pressure me one way or another. I had asked Mark how soon he would be able to fix the heater, and how fast. To my surprise, Mark said he had an opening the very next day, and it would only take about an hour to install a new one. After Mark left, I discussed my options with acquaintances and family, and I decided the best decision would be just to replace the heater. A couple hours later, I called Mark and asked several more questions. He answered my questions professionally and respectfully. He was not condescending and was very patient with my inquiries. I decided to hire Mark to replace the heater. The next day he arrived with one other person, and the new heater, ready for installation. I was amazed by his speed and precision with installing the heater, piping, and electrical wire. If I had tried to install this myself, it would have probably taken me days; it took Mark 1 hour. The heater is working great, and the installation looks fabulous! After a stressful weekend of not knowing if, or when, I would have hot water, it was great to finally relax and be able to enjoy a long, hot shower with my girlfriend.

I highly recommend Mark for his professionalism, and fas response fair price than you.read more
