Our lessons also included group classes, where we worked with Nick and Andrew. They were wonderful as well and taught us more advanced moves. Nick also went out of his way to check in with us when we were in the studio by ourselves practicing our dance and showed us a few tips for how to make everything look more natural and flow better. I didn't sweat (again, I think my body was tricked by the studio's aroma into thinking it wasn't necessary) but I did feel challenged by the routine. Only about 1/3 of the class time was dedicated to dancing; the rest was warm up moves, funkywalking across the floor, stretching, and ab exercises. The music choices were contemporary which was a plus. I would have liked to learn a longer routine than three counts of 8, but its all good.

My only complaint is that it's pretty crowded here for much of the summer, so you have to keep a close eye on the little ones so they don't get run over by the bigger kids.

I was okay with receiving even a partial refund, but even this was refused. Considering the industry FirstDance works in, I would have expected better customer service and a willingness to work something out. Now I regret ever signing up for the classes at this business. Tip for future customers: If you sign up for their new student introductory class ($45), they will try to get you to sign up for a bulk package of classes at the very end. They say it is cheaper to purchase the classes right then and there because they offer "special pricing" since you're a "new student". Their whole business model is to have you buy 20-40 classes all at once for $90-$100 per session instead of paying more for individual classes. I fell victim to this sales tactic and decided to sign up for 30 classes at the end of the intro class. I wish FirstDance could be more understanding of their clients and offer a better refund policy. I have 30 classes that I will likely never use.
