I had a question about one of my watches that went unacknowledged, but I think I may have been trying to ask at the wrong time. I do not know what else this shop can fix, as they were seemingly unwilling to look at my automatic watch (although it is in quite bad shape) and the quartz watch I have that's in rough shape also didn't get looked at. So, I would call and see if they can solve your issue prior to going in. Overall I had a nice experience and would go back, probably not for batteries though.

I was told up front, that he charges $500. There was no talk of additional charges. All was going well as I was able to call and get status updates with full transparency on the need to price adjust. The watch recently sold and he notified me of the amount I would receive. When I arrived, I asked him how much the watch actually ended up selling for sans his commission. Well, when I did the math, he took a commission of $600. When I asked about the difference in price he said it was due to credit card charges (I was selling and not buying), cleaning up the watch (which was to be included in the original $500) and if the new owner said it was running fast, he would have to take it back and fix it. None of this was told to me as part of an upfront charge. It feels a bit like a bait and switch. I do believe he understood my concern around the dollar difference, but he did not offer to make it right. Suddenly the very thing I appreciated about him, me feeling safe as a female, may have served to my detriment. I just feel you should honor your word. I may be out of $100, but I can warn others.

Entrance is impossible unless personnel permits access. A buzzing sound signals door release. Frankly, I'm here primarily for watch battery replacement. I wait while the work is completed. It generally takes less than five minutes and is inexpensive. On this visit, I requested repair of my flexible watch band or a suitable replacement. In early January, I took a gold watch bracelet to them to have two links made to lengthen the bracelet. While in their possession, I inquired almost weekly for an update on an estimate for cost and time needed to perform the work but never received it. After about two months of waiting, I decided I'd take it back and have someone else work on it. When I went to pick it up, Sonya the store manager, handed it back to me in pieces. I started putting it back together when I noticed there were pieces missing. Had I not checked, Sonya would have let me leave the store with it in that condition. After pointing out the missing pieces, she said she would look for the missing parts and have it ready the next week. So I came back the next week and the bracelet wasn't there. I wasted my time going to the store when they could have called me to let me know it wasn't there. I was told to come back again the following week. I came back the next week and when I inspected the bracelet again, I found that it was again missing parts, but now it had been damaged. It looked like one or possibly more of the links had been hit with a hammer. How they managed to damage it so badly I have no idea. The parts damaged shouldn't have even been handled at all. I'm now waiting for Sonya to again resolve this but at this point, this watch bracelet is likely a loss and will need to be claimed as such by their business insurance. The cost is almost irrelevant though as this bracelet is irreplaceable. Don't take your valuables to Best Jewelers because they may end up like mine - ruined.

They're not the most tech…read moresavvy, so you won't find a company website but if you give them an old school phone call or simply show up during business hours they're super friendly, welcoming, and eager to assist. They can do all kinds of work, from a simple watch battery change, to fixing antique clocks-- even better, they've got a stash of old parts on hand so they might be able to do quick fixes right on the spot. These are true craftsmen, a dying breed. We are lucky to have such a niche store in our neighborhood!
