I have been dealing with a major back issue and I patiently waited to be scheduled to see Dr. Chira. I understand during COVID-19 times now, that everything can be more slow-paced and a health risk; however, I felt as if I was put on the back burner. I had to head to the ER in order for myself to get any type of doctor's note for my job. I did not feel comfortable going back to work in my condition and wanted to get answers! A week and a half later, I finally did see Dr. Chira, and there was still no proper diagnosis. I, myself, recommended to get a MRI done to get a better understanding of what's going on with my back. Also, to see what issues are going on. I had 1 more follow-up appointment with Dr. Chira after that; that being after my MRI was done and results were in. Still no clear-cut answers from him. I had to continually repeat with him what medications I am on; as well as what I have been doing since my back injury. It's as if he didn't remember anything I had told him prior? Not to mention Dr. Chira explicitly wanted me to call my pharmacy to "double-check" what medications I am on so there is no "confusion." I was dumbfounded and couldn't believe my PCP was not believing me. Dr. Chira handled my diagnosis with no clear-cut answers. I had to bring up physical therapy as an option. I expressed concern and interest in Short Term Disability because my back injury is going to take a lot more time that I had imagined apparently. I am looking out for the wealth fare of my job! Dr. Chira cringed at my vocal expression with STD! Why? I was looking for guidance and reassurance. I was looking for help and concern. All I received was disconnect and lack of empathy. Lastly, when Dr. Chira brought up what I do for work, he mentioned maybe I should find another job? How can I make that assumption when I need to make sure and take care of my issue first. Especially before I can decided anything like that? He was not helping me with responses such as that! Not to mention one of his office receptionists, a Miss Stacey. The very few times I spoke with her over the phone in these last 3 weeks, was, only a complete disregard for my feelings and disrespectfulness. I am finding a new PCP and have no intention of going back to Dr. Chira. He failed me as my PCP; and that's saying a lot for me considering I had been seeing him for almost 10 years. Shame on you Dr. Chira!

Even difficult situations I observed with some patients having issues with not having their required paperwork or being non-compliant with pre-op procedures; everyone was handled professionally, with practicality and with their safety in mind. I'm going to try to break down my experience to a minimum but keep in mind a LOT happened in between but I would need to write a book in order to write everything that I went thru . In 2014 Dr lacava Dx'd me with Lyme disease. Prior to this I saw multiple doctors that treated me horrible, didnt listen to me, treated me like I was just there for the attention, treated me like it was all in my head, this includes the ER, neurology, & Infectious disease. my Primary doctors NP was the one who said "lets just do a lyme test" that started my journey reading about lyme disease and the ineffectiveness of the testing and CDC guidelines etc. I became an expert myself, I found dr lacava who did a whole bunch of blood tests and found i did in fact have lyme. and babesia . treated me for a year with anti malaria, antibiotics and to give you an idea how i felt? I thought i was dying a slow death and even wrote journals to both my kids so they would have something special from me when i was gone. No one but dr lacava LISTENED to me. TESTED me and TREATED me the way I should have been Listened to tested and treated. after a year i finally felt like a living human again . He also did allergy testing and found some things i was sensitive to and should stay away from and i have done just that. his visits were at times, long and tedious with his method of paperwork you have to fill out but worth every minute of my time. Some visits yes i did have to wait but that just shows that he DOES listen to ALL his patients no matter how long it took . he NEVER rushed me EVER. And the staff there is phenomenal so yes if i could give Dr Lacava and the staff stars? They would get 10

This past year I had seen Dr. Lacava for three appointments to address health issues due to…read moremold/biotoxin toxicity illness. After my second appt. I was prescribed 12 different supplements to take which was both questioned and ridiculed by my PCP & Functional Medicine Doctor I signed up with shortly after my third appointment with Dr. Lacava. Also when I had a tick bite that was not confirmed to have lyme his solution was to prescribe 600mg of Doxycycline to take daily for 30 days consecutively described as my PCP as the "nuclear option" which he was glad to find out I consulted with him first about this. Lastly we had discussed in my second appt. that he would help me with FMLA paperwork if I was not feeling better by our third appt. I reluctantly went to the third because of the cost and I had not made any progress since the second in the hopes he would keep his word, which at the end of the third he said he could not be "burdened by the paperwork" and to ask my PCP. During this appointment I was informed that I was not taking the correct amount of multivitamins he prescribed which was the sole reason I was not recovering and the other 11 prescribed supplements were ineffective without the multi vitamins. He looked me strait in the face and told me "You just don't want to get better", because I was not taking the correct amount of vitamins, regardless of the thousands of dollars spent on testing and treatment with him I clearly just did not want to get better. I've heard at one time he prescribed adequate care but he has fallen short of his ability as a provider. Don't waste your time, money, or effort here. He should not be trusted with anyone's health.

My wrists did not require surgery but my index finger did. Being a former US Marine and have had a few surgeries over many years, Dr Deitz is an outstanding Doctor and a true professional. Second to none in my opinion. He treated me for my wrist and and told me that I would not need surgery and advised me to do physical Therapy for a time and come back to see him. Dr Deitz answered all my concerns and was very patient with me. I did all that he told me to do to have mobility and strength in both my wrist. He was right on in regards to the time it should be heald and when i could get back to doing what I do. I wasn't so lucking on my index finger, there was a problem. Dr Deitz showed me the ex rays and advised me what he planed on doing. I told him what ever you think lets do it. Dr Deitz put 4 pins and some screws in my finger and when I saw him before pre op Dr Deitz said " I think i am going to put it off for a week and let the swelling go down" I agreed. He was right because waiting made my recovering a lot less time. I cannot say enough about Dr Deitz, but iff you are looking for a Dr that will make you feel at ease then he's your man. Upon my asking if the wait was normal Dr Dietz mentioned some college professor anecdote about how it takes what it takes to answer all pertinent patient questions. Today the service we use was running an hour late and because I go on the bus with her to get her on and off the bus, I was stuck there unable to get to my daughters school to pick her up on time unless something extraordinary happened. I was running requests on uber and lyft and no one was interested in my short ride home to get my car. I went in to tell the staff what I was going through and they all seemed like they were about to grab their keys or find some way to help me out however the manager Ewa appeared as if she were an angel and introduced herself. She was just getting done with her day and without hesitation said she would drive me to my house next to the main Harrington hospital in Southbridge so I could get my daughter and quickly return to Harrington Charlton to get my mom on the bus and home. The office in Maynard was fast, clean, friendly and efficient. As new patients we were registered and in a room within 5 minutes. The back room is set up similar to an ER with the doctor/ nurses station in the middle and all the patients' rooms in a larger square surrounding it. X-Rays were taken right across the hall. Dr McDonald then explained he didn't see any major injury but after questioning me, was concerned about a possible blood clot.
