I waited almost 2 years to write this review after all my dental work including implants were successfully treated by non affiliated professionals. I'd recommend getting a second opinion after receiving a treatment plan from Dr Yeung. The prices were twice as much as most every other dentist with equal credentials. My mistake was not getting another opinion. Trusting her was my error. The actual work wasn't up to par too. I left after my conscious & bank account had concerns. I found out later that she never looked at my 3D dental CT Scan before my treatment. I'm so grateful I decided to get other professional opinions but unfortunately it was after I'd been taken. If you're the type of person that prefers to buy items at Erewhon for twice as much as other grocery stores then maybe Dr Yeung is for you. I very much enjoyed my visit to Dr. Yeung's office. Her hygienist was extremely professional, she gave a thorough and helpful exam, and everyone in the office was very easy to work with. Dr. Yeung literally changed my life. I was born without a very prominent front tooth and the embarrassment from that has effected every aspect of my life. Ive tried everything from temporary dentures to a Maryland bridge and nothing worked. Finally, I took the leap and went though two bone graft procedures and got a permanent implant and crown. She (along with all her incredible referrals such as oral surgeon and actual prosthetics maker) made me a perfect smile. I had a very unpredictable schedule as I am an actor and had to leave town by a certain date. She worked around all my last minute changes and made sure everything looked perfect. I can't thank her enough for her flexibility and kindness through the process. I have had such bad luck with dentists and I know I have found a perfect match in Dr Yeung. Prior to Dr. Yeung, I had gone for routine teeth cleaning at Santa Monica Esthetic Dentistry and they had refused to clean my teeth because they insisted I needed a deep cleaning for ~$1700. They had also spent 2 hours poking and prodding my gums to take excessive photos of my teeth with a DSLR, in addition to a bunch of X-rays (which they charged me ~$500 for). The doctor there, Dr. Ganesh, was extremely rude, condescending, and let his personal opinions cloud his professional judgment. I took time off work and Santa Monica Esthetic Dentistry and its staff wasted my time and overcharged me for stupid procedures. I came to Dr. Yeung because I wanted a second opinion from someone who would be honest and realistic with me about what I did and didn't need. I made an appointment during a transition period, which was while she was getting ready to move to her new building (don't worry, it's .5 miles from where she currently is), so my scheduling got a little muddled as it was through email. She thought I DIDN'T confirm and I thought I HAD confirmed via email. When I showed up to my appointment and we realized this miscommunication, she didn't tell me to reschedule or come back later. She took a deep breath and said, "I will make this work." She looked at my X-rays, prodded at my gums and teeth a little bit, asked me some questions, and said I didn't need a deep cleaning. I didn't have any cavities, fillings, fake teeth, etc. and I'm 24. She said all I needed was basically a power clean, and she got me in and out in under an hour. Don't be deterred by the 5 stars and only 23 reviews, Dr. Yeung is really great, conversational, and she will make it a point to take care of you and make sure you okay with her pricing, insurance policies, etc. before proceeding. read more

FTR!!!! Yay! I went to Stephanie Yeung, DDS with my husband to get our teeth cleaned. Why? Because when I was in film school, Stephanie was studying across the street at the dental program and I went to her for a check up. She was super thorough, explained everything, and made sure everything was painless. She took pictures of my teeth, she put goggles on me, she explained what each tooth was doing, she gave me a cold/ hit test, etc. Honestly, my horrible childhood experience of going to the dentist was slowly melting away as Stephanie made sure I was an active part of each and everything she did. So, when she finally got her own practice, we knew we wanted to switch dentists and drive all the way to santa monica to get our teeth cleaned. The office is a bit hard to find if you're not on the look out. It is 2-3 doors down from "hole in the wall burger joint" and 1-2 doors down from a raw juicery, on the opposite side of starbucks. When you enter the waiting room area, you're immediately transported to a calmer place. It looks more like a spa than a dentist's office. Stephanie shares the space with another longtime dentist. I think it's awesome that women are helping each other out this way. The artwork and decor will relax you and once you're inside with Stephanie, she will put you at ease as she asks you a few questions about any problematic tooth, she gives you a few tests (having x-rays help and she takes x-rays too), and starts working away at your teeth. She is always aware of your pain level and always warns you before going into a problematic and sensitive tooth. Visiting a dentist is now going to be my regular thing instead of going in for emergency situations, like I did in the past when I had a really horrible, painful dentist. Of course, I also ended up having a juice at the juice bar next door and a burger at the hole in the wall burger joint. Not a bad way to round out the day! read more

Great, competent dentist and friendly staff. Dr. Yeung does not up-sell you with unnecessary, expensive products or treatment. She effectively treated my elderly mother's pain by skillfully having her old, misshapen dentures relined without breaking the bank. My 96 year old mother can now eat without pain. We're fortunate to have found Dr. Stephanie Yeung. Wish I had known about about the specialized field of prosthodontics years ago and saved my mother needless repeat visits to a less qualified general dentist. Dr. Yeung also ensured that Mom would not be inconvenienced by waiting an entire weekend for her newly lined dentures. I could have sworn I had written a review a long time ago! But if I didn't, it would be an injustice to Dr Yeung. I am so sorry. Dr Yeung is the most amazing dentist ever. I had a 6mth old temporary tooth that I thought was pretty much dead, botched from a previous dentist that I chose not to return to. The tooth was in such bad shape that two dentists wanted to do a root canal on it, two other dentists wanted to do a crown. I was exhausted from all the conflicting info but wanted one more opinion and found Dr Yeung. She made the most sense and explained why. She fixed it and I avoided a root canal and crown! I feel so blessed to have found her. Dr Stephanie Yeung is the real deal. Probably the least important to mention but she gives the beessttt teeth cleaning!! Every dental office I've been to are usually done by a technician, I will never go to a tech ever again. I visited Dr. Yeung today for the first time, and it was my first visit to the dentist in awhile. She was an awesome dentist from start-to-finish (and the cherry on top was finding out she was a fellow USC Trojan alum :). I went in for a general cleaning and check-up. We finished in about an hour and that included filling out new forms, taking new x-rays and the cleaning portion of the appointment. Other pros about this place include validated parking, clean/spa like environment, and the USC Trojan sunglasses you can wear during your visit. Will try to keep it short. Went to another dentist for a consultation, they basically told me my teeth had a million things wrong and that I had to get several fixes done or my teeth would be forever in danger. They sent in a finance person and told me my procedures needed to be started that day and also told me the costs would be almost a grand, even with insurance. I told them that I would look into more opinions before deciding, which they did not like. I told my coworker about the ordeal and she referred me to Dr. Yeung. She told me Dr. Yeung had her own practice because of all shady things some of these other dentists practice. I made an appointment for a consultation and went to the Santa Monica office. Parking in the lot is validated. Dr. Yeung asked me a few questions and looked over my x-rays that I forwarded over from the previous consultation. She looked at my teeth for about five minutes before telling me what I kind of expected-the last dental office I went to greatly exaggerated everything and I didn't really need any of the urgent fixes they suggested. She also went over some orthodontic questions I had in regards to Invisalign. After all that, she basically told me she was out of my Insurance Network and that she could refer me to a good dentist in my area who wouldn't try and take advantage of me. The consultation was free and she went above and beyond to find me someone in my insurance network. She explained to me that if I wanted to go with her, I would have to go through a reimbursement process with my Insurance and that it would be a major hassle. So, essentially she gave me a bunch of great information, two referrals(dentist and ortho), validated my parking, and told me it wasn't worth my time or effort to go to her cuz of the reimbursement hassle. I've never met anyone so honest and helpful in this industry before. Everyone is just trying to get your money so its hard to trust anybody's actual advice. So, Dr. Yeung is a keeper. I wish she was in my Insurance network cuz I would go to her regularly in a second, even though she's not really all that close to where I live. Can't recommend her enough. 5/5 stars easy. I hadn't been to a dentist for several years (since moving to LA), and she did a good job making me feel happy to be back on schedule, not bad for having failed in the past. I never write reviews. But I have to say that Stephanie is the best dentist I've ever had! Over the past few years, I've been to several different dentists in Australia and the US. None of the dentists I've been to were like Stephanie. My teeth needed cleaning so bad and she did an amazing job without causing me any pain. In fact, she told me that after the appointment I may be sore and recommended me to take a painkiller. I had no problem whatsoever! My teeth have never been so clean. She is very compassionate. She took her time to clean my teeth without causing any pain during the cleaning process. I visited another dentist with high ratings on Yelp last year and he was the worst I ever had. He did a quick job that took only 15 minutes and gave the polishing to his assistant! Stephanie used the machine for the easy parts and manually cleaning the other sensitive parts. She really took her time and after I got home and looked my teeth I was amazed at the end result. I'm not going to look for a new dentist and I highly recommend her to you. The most amazing experience I have ever had at a dentist, it was actually a pleasant experience, which I never thought I would say, I hated going to the dentist, actually I avoided it as much as I could. I will not be putting it off any longer, I had the best experience on Monday getting my front tooth filled. Dr Yeung is so knowledgable, her bedside manner is professional but friendly, and she is all that you could want in a dentist. In need of a quick cleaning before vanishing from L.A. for five months to work out of state and then abroad, I discovered great reviews of Dr. Yeung right here on Yelp and decided to try and make a quick appointment before leaving town. Luckily for me, Dr. Yeung was able to fit me in, and all I can say is that all of the other five star reviews are absolutely right. I can honestly say that Dr. Yeung is the first dentist I've ever seen in 40 years of living in Los Angeles whose only concern was taking care of my needs and concerns, while making certain that there weren't any issues which required immediate treatment. No finance person trying to rope me into a long program of unnecessary treatments at an exorbitant amount of money, or insisting on dealing with minor issues right there on the spot. Just the facts, followed by a thorough, painless cleaning--by Dr. Yeung herself, not a hygienist--which, along with her delightfully smart sense of humor, made time spent in her office an actual pleasure.
