HER photographer had also used Allen Tsai for her wedding. I decided to take some time and followed Allen's presence on social media and the internet. Turns out he's VERY decorated and has been featured a lot in publications. His clients are worldwide, and all the photographers I respect want HIM for the THEIR weddings. If he's the professional that all the other professionals use, I knew I was never going to entertain any other photographer. The second I got engaged, I told my wedding planner we had to secure Allen. And that's what we did. THANK GOD because it takes a special photographer to handle everything an everyone that was, My Wedding. I got married in Downtown Dallas and my wedding had very "city" vibes. I didn't want to have every "conventional" wedding party shot, and so I had tasked Allen with the burden of making my wedding photos look like "something off the cover of Vanity Fair." Not typically his route for weddings, and also confined to a VERY tight timeline, somehow, Allen was able to execute my vision. More than that, every shot from the reception is PERFECT. The lighting was consistent in every shot (and let me tell you, the lights from the stage and darkness of the room was all over the place that night). He captured beautiful portraits, but also grabbed very intimate moments between myself and my husband, our friends, and our family - shots that we didn't know anyone was watching. The photos were edited and turned in record time (amazing considering he shoots digitally AND in film) and the gallery of proofs was enormous. This was so important because I've heard HORROR stories from friends whose galleries were pitifully small since the photographer didn't have very good content to return. The gallery is easy to use navigate and he even offers printing services (huge if your local pharmacy does a bad job with prints). Here is my biggest jaw-drop of the experience: Allen worked alone. My wedding had around 225 guests and you would have thought (based on the photos) that he had at least two assistants. Finally, Allen is also just awesome to work with. He's kind and dedicated to his craft, and he is so respectful and polite. He rocked my wedding and I'm so glad we hired him.

He did not disappoint! My best advice would be to trust him and his skills as a photographer implicitly. 1. He gives plenty of direction in terms of body placement, posture, hand placement, etc. to give you flawless photos. If you are new to being photographed like me, you'll find this kind of direction extremely helpful and comforting. 2. At the same time, he creates a very calm, light, and fun atmosphere that creates true, genuine moments between you and your significant other. We are two people that usually feel very uncomfortable in front of a camera, however we had such an enjoyable experience with Allen. 3. I really encourage anyone using Allen's services to listen to his recommendations. For example, our original scheduled date was cloudy and overcast. He recommended that we wait for sun if we truly wanted to be happy with our photos. We are so grateful to have listened to him, because the results were wonderful (see attached). There are other photographers that will say that cloudy weather is actually better, however with Allen's technique and skill set, he can do incredible things with the light. Booked a 2hr Monday morning slot while I was out of the state to shoot a wedding. I flew in on…read moreSunday and then Monday morning woke up to a freeze warning and complete overcast. My models didnt feel safe driving in the freeze warning and neither did I. For a natural light studio a 2hr slot in complete overcast with a freeze warning would be useless. I contacted the studio and they refered to their 24hr policy that cannot be cancelled under ANY circumstance. I understand running a business you need your money, but as a client, I don't think I will be returning. Things happen and there needs to be SOME consideration for a last minute reschedule. Should I have looked closer at the weather? Yes, but I think shooting my brothers wedding 2 days prior would probably keep me a little too occupied to think of such variables as a possible freeze in Texas in October. Extremely disappointed in how this was handled and I wont be bringing my services to Artist Uprising from this point forward.

I hired Jolan Jade Photography after reviewing her beautiful online portfolio, which showcased thoughtfully styled newborn portraits, professional posing, and a variety of creative compositions. Unfortunately, the photographs I received were vastly different from the quality and variety advertised. I paid $600 for a gallery consisting largely of repetitive photographs, nearly identical overhead angles, and minimal variation in posing or composition. Many of the images were essentially duplicates with slightly different facial expressions. The difference between her advertised portfolio and the actual work delivered was incredibly disappointing. What made this experience even more frustrating was the lack of professionalism. When I expressed my concerns, rather than acknowledging the significant differences in quality, she attributed the results to my son's age and size, the lighting in my home, and even complained about my nanny. For context, this is my third child and my third experience with professional newborn and childhood photography. I am very familiar with how these sessions work and what to reasonably expect. I have had the same nanny and the same lighting conditions in my home during previous photography sessions without experiencing these issues. Furthermore, my husband, sister, and nanny were all present during the session, and all three commented afterward on how unprofessional they found her conduct. Unfortunately, I wasn't present for the entire session, but hearing the same concerns from three people who witnessed it was incredibly disappointing. I also provided my son's exact age and measurements before booking. If his age, size, or the conditions in my home would significantly limit the photographer's ability to produce work comparable to her advertised portfolio, I believe those concerns should have been communicated beforehand rather than used as explanations afterward. Newborn photographs are irreplaceable memories. These are moments you cannot recreate, and choosing a photographer is an important decision built on trust, professionalism, and the quality of work they advertise. My disappointment goes far beyond simply disliking a few photographs. It is the substantial discrepancy between the work advertised and delivered, the lack of variety and attention to detail, and the overall experience. I strongly encourage other parents to request complete, recent client galleries rather than relying solely on the carefully selected photographs displayed on a website. After three children and three professional photography experiences, this was by far my most disappointing. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this photographer.

Let me say, our photobooth rental was a guest favorite! I wish we would have booked more than two…read morehours. Getting a quote and confirming booking was super easy. About a week before your event you'll receive a mock up of your frame that will be sent to your guests either digitally or printed. This is the moment my experience went sour. They sent a proof over with their website url on the front and when I inquired about it they tried to charge an additional $50 to remove it (which wasn't listed anywhere on their site, our paid contract, or during the booking process.) After I refused to pay the owner tried to "school" me on marketing, branding, and their view of industry standard. So just fyi, if you also think it's tacky to have their url on the front of all your photos be prepared to pay an additional $50 than your original quote. Also my event was 3.2 miles from their Richardson office and there was still an added fuel surcharge despite their website saying if you're over 35 miles away. A better description would be you will be charged fuel + the quote vs *additional fuel charges may apply. They will. These felt like sneaky hidden fees. If I hadn't already paid in full and found out with less than 5 days before our event, I would have canceled and went with another company.

Sheena was extremely helpful in verifying that they were able to meet these requirements before taking my deposit money. These guys were on time, and though their designated place to set up the open air booth was not enough room, they improvised and relocated it without any disruption to our wedding reception. My only advise would be to get a better quality printer, the digital images quality was perfect however. The company as a whole is reliable and very professional. Book these guys and rest assured you'll have a complete and comprehensive package!
